"I created this body of work this past summer (2013) for the Red Bull House of Art. Which is an Artist Residency that provides studio space and exhibit space for Detroit artists. This body of work was inspired by the after-hours environment as well as the landscape here in Detroit. This city is a gold mine for aging liquor store signs, and other hand-painted signs. There is a folk-art quality to the entire city and I wanted to bring that into a more specific subject. This piece is a collection of vintage beer cans that I like." - Jesse Kassel
