  • Force of Nature Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Force of Nature Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Force of Nature Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY Hand-Pulled 5-Color on Cream Speckletone Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Artwork Obey Pop Culture Artist. 2023 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 550 Artwork Size 18x24 Silkscreen Print "This "Force of Nature" is both a celebration of nature and a cautionary tale. Waves are beautiful and represent a powerful, hypnotic rhythmic cycle, but waves can be incredibly destructive when energized by a storm. The semi-predictable seasonal flooding patterns from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in Mesopotamia led to fertile land and the formation of Sumer, the first civilization. Humans have thrived by studying and adapting to weather patterns. An awareness of and respect for the undulations of nature has been crucial to the development of civilization and the success of its various communities. Climate change has demonstrated what happens to civilization when nature becomes more powerful and less predictable. From hurricanes Sandy, Katrina, and many others to uncontrollable wildfires in CA, tornadoes in the midwest, and record temperatures and heat-related deaths in Europe, where many lack air-conditioning, civilization is often unequipped to deal with the global warming-fuelled force of nature. A portion of proceeds from this print go to Greenpeace USA's efforts to fight for responsible environmental policies. Thanks for caring!" -Shepard Fairey- OBEY The Artistic Significance of "Force of Nature" Shepard Fairey's "Force of Nature" is a thought-provoking silkscreen print that captures the tumultuous beauty of the natural world and the poignant message of environmental awareness. As a leading figure in street pop art and graffiti artwork, Fairey, with his OBEY brand, has often melded aesthetic appeal with social commentary, and this piece is no exception. The 2023 signed and numbered limited edition of 550, sized 18x24 inches, is a visual spectacle and a statement on the precarious balance between human civilization and the natural forces that both sustain and threaten it. "Force of Nature" is a hallmark of Fairey's work, showcasing his mastery of the silkscreen medium with a hand-pulled 5-color process on cream speckletone fine art paper. The artwork presents a wave in mid-crescendo, a snapshot of nature's raw power and grace. The contrast between the serene sky and the raging sea encapsulates the dual nature of water as both life-giving and destructive, a theme that resonates deeply in the current climate of ecological uncertainty. The piece reflects Fairey's acute awareness of the environment's rhythms and the disruptions caused by climate change. By choosing the wave as a central motif, Fairey alludes to the cycles of nature that have enabled human progress, such as the flooding of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, which nourished the cradle of civilization. However, the storm-energized wave symbolizes the potential for destruction, as seen in recent natural disasters exacerbated by climate change. This duality of creation and chaos lies at the heart of the "Force of Nature" print. Environmental Advocacy Through Art Fairey's work is not content with mere representation; it seeks to galvanize action. By partnering with Greenpeace USA and dedicating some proceeds to fight for responsible environmental policies, "Force of Nature" exemplifies how art can be a change agent. The print is a clarion call to respect and adapt to the undulations of nature, emphasizing that civilization's success hinges on its ability to coexist with the Earth's powerful and unpredictable forces. The "Force of Nature" print reflects the human cost of ecological disasters, from hurricanes to wildfires, tornadoes, and extreme temperatures. Fairey's portrayal of the wave conveys the urgent need for awareness and preparedness in these challenges. It is a reminder that while nature's patterns have fostered human thriving, our current trajectory risks upsetting this delicate balance with potentially catastrophic consequences. Shepard Fairey's Ongoing Legacy in Art and Activism Shepard Fairey has consistently committed to merging his artistic endeavors with activism, and the "Force of Nature" print continues this ethos. His work in the street pop art and graffiti art scenes has often carried a message, whether advocating for peace, justice, or environmental stewardship. Fairey's legacy is one of provocation and inspiration, challenging viewers to engage with critical issues through art. "Force of Nature" is a testament to Fairey's artistic skill and his role as a cultural commentator and environmental advocate. Through its evocative imagery and message, the print underscores the potential for art to transcend aesthetic boundaries and become a catalyst for social and ecological progress. In the broader context of street pop art and graffiti artwork, "Force of Nature" exemplifies how these art forms can contribute to meaningful conversations. Fairey's print invites discourse on our relationship with the planet, urging a collective reevaluation of how we interact with the forces that shape our existence. Art can inform, influence, and incite through works like this, playing a crucial role in shaping the future of our civilization and our world.

Frank Kozik's playful, surf-style illustration depicts the ultimate "man-eater" comfortably at home in an ocean of troubles. Often credited to have singlehandedly revived the lost art of the concert poster, Frank Kozik's creative career rose largely out of his enthusiasm for Austin's growing underground punk rock scene in the early eighties. Moon Over Biloxi 1-Color Hand-Pulled Limited Edition Silkscreen Print on Fine Art Paper by Shepard Fairey Rare Street Art Famous Pop Artwork Artist. Signed & Numbered Moon Over Biloxi Screen Print 18 x 24 inches Edition of 400 July 27, 2010. "The title of this print “Moon Over Biloxi” is a tribute to the Dead Kennedy’s song “Moon Over Marin”. In 1984 I picked up maybe my 4th punk record which was the 2nd Dead Kennedy’s album “Plastic Surgery Disasters”. The album is a great listen all the way through and includes some blistering tunes like “Riot” and “Bleed For Me” laced with social commentary. The surprise song though is “Moon Over Marin”… detractors have called it the Dead Kennedy’s “U2” song, but I disagree. “Moon Over Marin” is more melodic than most DK, but juxtaposed with the darkness of the lyrics, the song evokes a powerful sense of existential melancholy. I think the concept that struck me, and stuck with me, is that our disrespect of each other and the planet may doom us, but things will continue without us. I think it is healthy to recognize impermanence, but also to appreciate the value of the ephemeral. Moonlight, real or electric, will probably be around, but what it will be casting light on is the real question. There will always be a moon over Biloxi." -Shepard

Richard Hambleton Silver Seascape Original Guerra Pigment Painting by Richard Hambleton

Silver Seascape Original Guerra Pigment Painting by Richard Hambleton of, a Kind Artwork on Fine Art Paper by Street Art Pop Artist. 2002 Signed & Dated Guerra Pigment & Paint Framed Painting Original Artwork Size Framed 33.5x28 with COA & Letter From Robert Murphy Richard Hambleton's Artistic Mastery in "Silver Seascape" Richard Hambleton, a luminary in the world of street pop art and graffiti artwork, left an indelible mark on the canvas of urban art history. His unique contribution to the genre is encapsulated in works like the original "Silver Seascape" painting. This piece is not merely a visual treat but a narrative of the artist's profound relationship with the natural elements, painted with the Guerra pigment and paint that became part of his signature technique. Completed in 2002, it is a one-of-a-kind artwork on fine art paper, framed and ready to inspire onlookers in any setting. Seascape stands out as a testament to Hambleton's artistic versatility and ability to transcend street art's traditional boundaries. Known predominantly for his shadowy figures that lurked on the walls of city buildings, this seascape presents a softer, no less impactful, side of his oeuvre. The 33.5x28 framed artwork captures the ethereal interplay between light and shadow, a dance of natural forces rendered in the moody tones of Hambleton's palette. The artwork, signed and dated by Hambleton, carries the authenticity of his vision, attesting to the originality that was the artist's hallmark. The signature aluminum art Guerra pigment combined with black art Guerra paint creates a texture and depth that lends the piece a three-dimensional quality, blurring the line between the tangible and the ephemeral. The Provenance and Legacy of Hambleton's "Silver Seascape" The provenance of this artwork adds to its allure. Having belonged to the collection of Robert Murphy, a close associate of Hambleton's and a figure prominent enough to be featured in the documentary "Shadowman," this piece is steeped in personal history. The Certificate of Authenticity (COA) accompanying the painting, provided by Murphy and a second COA from Dirtypilot, underscores the artwork's legitimacy and the close connection between the artist and his confidants. This painting is a visual representation of Hambleton's talent and a slice of his personal journey with his contemporaries. Impact and Influence of "Silver Seascape" Hambleton's "Silver Seascape" is not merely a decorative piece but a conduit for the raw and compelling energy that characterized his street pop art and graffiti work. The piece resonates with the spirit of freedom and spontaneity often associated with the best of street art. At the same time, its execution and presentation echo the discipline and finesse of fine art. It's a bridge between worlds, embodying the rebellious heart of street art within the refined context of a gallery-worthy piece. This artwork carries within it the echoes of the streets where Hambleton began, transformed into a form that commands contemplation and respect in the silence of a collector's enclave. The seascape genre, often used to portray the sublime and the tumultuous nature of the sea, is adeptly harnessed by Hambleton to reflect similar emotions he stirred through his street art. The dynamic and ever-changing sea, a metaphor for life and art itself, is depicted with a brooding, timeless, and immediate intensity. It reflects Hambleton's understanding that art, like the sea, is never static, always leaving an impression unique to the viewer's perception. Richard Hambleton's "Seascape" is a remarkable work that offers a distinct departure from the artist's urban street art, guiding viewers to a contemplative horizon where the sea meets the sky. It is a masterful creation that brings together the disparate elements of street pop art and fine art, framed and presented in a manner that is both accessible and profound. This piece celebrates Hambleton's legacy, a visual poem composed in the language of color and form, ready to hang and transform any space it occupies.

The Mermen AP 1996 San Francisco CA Silkscreen Print by Frank Kozik Fort Point Pier The Mermen AP 1996 San Francisco, CA silkscreen print is a symbolic piece by the acclaimed artist Frank Kozik, whose work is often associated with the vibrant energy of pop and street art. Kozik's distinctive style is characterized by a blend of bold colors, cartoon-like figures, and a touch of satirical humor, all of which are palpably present in this artwork. This piece, crafted explicitly as a gig poster for a performance at Fort Point Pier on October 4, 1996, captures the essence of the San Francisco music scene of the time. Hand-pulled on fine art paper, the print is part of an exclusive Artist Proof (AP) edition, limited to 50 signed and numbered pieces. Measuring 17.5x22 inches, it's a significant work that embodies the culture and vibrancy of its era. The imagery in this particular print, featuring a park ranger character brandishing a sign that protests against beach parties, flanked by an unconscious figure surrounded by litter, serves as a witty commentary on environmental conservation and personal responsibility. This reflects Kozik's knack for engaging with social and cultural themes through his art, a trait he shares with many street artists who use public spaces to comment on societal issues. Kozik's work has been instrumental in defining the visual landscape of music culture in the 1990s, with his posters becoming synonymous with the era's underground music scene. The Mermen AP print is not just a piece of memorabilia but also a slice of pop culture history, encapsulating the intersection of music, art, and social commentary. Its existence as a limited edition work heightens its collectibility. It serves to preserve a moment when street art aesthetics infiltrated mainstream visual culture, thereby solidifying Kozik's legacy within the art community.

  • Worlds Collide Part II Original Oil Mixed Media Reclaimed Painting by Dave Pollot Worlds Collide Part II Original Oil Mixed Media Reclaimed Painting by Dave Pollot

Dave Pollot Worlds Collide Part II Original Oil Mixed Media Reclaimed Painting by Dave Pollot

Worlds Collide Part II Original Oil Mixed Media Reclaimed Painting by Dave Pollot is One-of-a-Kind Artwork by Street Art Pop Artist. 2023 Signed Oil Painting on Vintage Reclaimed Upcycled Painting Diptych Original Artwork Size 12x9 (UFO) & 17.5x15.5 (Beach) of a UFO Laser Blasting a Seagul Bird On The Beach Intersection of Modernity and Tradition in "Worlds Collide Part II" "Worlds Collide Part II" is a striking representation of Street Pop Art and graffiti Artwork, reflecting a seamless blend of traditional artistic methods with the contemporary edge of pop culture. The artist behind this compelling piece has employed oil painting, a classic medium, and infused it with modern thematic elements, presenting a narrative that bridges the ordinary with the otherworldly. The diptych format, hinged together to form a single story, roots the work in historical art traditions, while the subject matter – a UFO engaging with a seagull on a beach – introduces a narrative that is unapologetically current and provocative. This original mixed-media artwork encapsulates the vivacity of street art by utilizing reclaimed and upcycled canvases. Repurposing these materials not only gives them a new lease on life but also pays homage to the ethos of street art, which often sees beauty in the overlooked and discarded. Combining the UFO and beach scenes provokes the viewer to contemplate the juxtapositions within our world – blending the familiar with the very unfamiliar. The artist's signature, marked in 2023, signals the creation of a piece deeply embedded in the present. This one-of-a-kind artwork, measuring 12x9 inches for the 'UFO' panel and 17.5x15.5 inches for the 'Beach' panel, captures the essence of pop art's interaction with the audience. It does not merely portray a scene but also calls into question the boundaries of reality and fiction, urging a reflection on our environment and the unexpected events that could unfold within it. The Narrative of Artistic Transformation in Reclaimed Art Through "Worlds Collide Part II," the artist exemplifies the transformative power of art. By breathing new life into vintage canvases, the artwork becomes a narrative of reinvention and the cyclical nature of art itself. The choice of a reclaimed painting as the medium is a statement about the potential for transformation – a core principle within Street Pop Art and graffiti Artwork. It is a visual and conceptual rebirth, where the past and the present amalgamate to create something entirely new and thought-provoking. The beach scene, typically a symbol of tranquility and nature's beauty, is disrupted by the fantastical invasion of a UFO, which starkly contrasts the serene backdrop. This decision illustrates the pop artist's flair for integrating science fiction elements into everyday settings, creating a space where different worlds can interact unexpectedly. The result is an art piece that is a testament to the imagination and the artist's power to challenge our perceptions of the normal and the known. In creating "Worlds Collide Part II," the artist presents an alternate reality and challenges the viewer to consider the impact of such an event. The artwork becomes a portal to a story much larger than the canvas it occupies, inviting us to ponder the endless possibilities that exist beyond our own experiences. Embracing the Ethos of Street Pop and Graffiti Art "Worlds Collide Part II" vividly embodies the principles of Street Pop Art and graffiti Artwork. The art piece itself is a confluence of historical techniques and modern cultural expressions, symbolizing art's fluidity and ever-evolving nature. By combining disparate elements – a traditional beach landscape and a symbol of futuristic technology – the artwork mirrors the essence of street art and pop art: the merging of various aspects of culture to create both reflective and forward-looking. The artist's innovative approach to the subject matter and medium underscores a broader cultural commentary inherent in street art. It speaks to a world where boundaries are constantly being redrawn and redefined, where art is not confined to galleries but is a part of the living urban landscape. Thus, The painting becomes more than just a visual experience; it is a conversation with the viewer, a dynamic interaction central to the street and pop art experience. Worlds Collide Part II is not just an art piece but a cultural artifact that encapsulates the zeitgeist of our time. It reflects the ever-changing nature of art, the unexpectedness of life, and the beauty that arises when different worlds come together. Through this piece, the artist invites us to witness the creative potential of combining the traditional with the unconventional, the real with the imagined.
