The new edition of the artwork is interpreted with hand-pulled four color Silkscreen print on Soy-Stained Authentic Egyptian Papyrus, and each print intricately arranged with a lattice of black Diamond Dust, to produce visually intoxicating kaleidoscope-like effects." -Marwan Shahin. The Creative Odyssey of Marwan Shahin's "Anubis Afterlife" "Anubis Afterlife," a mesmerizing creation by Marwan Shahin, represents a striking convergence of ancient tradition and contemporary artistic practice. As a street pop artwork, this limited edition silkscreen print on Egyptian papyrus paper encapsulates the spirit of modern pop art while paying homage to the rich iconography of ancient Egypt. The use of authentic papyrus as a medium is a salute to the time-honored methods of artistic expression, further enhanced by Shahin’s innovative aging techniques that lend the work an air of antiquity. Artistic Alchemy on Papyrus Shahin, an Egyptian street art pop artwork artist, embarked on a meticulous process of experimentation to perfect the aging of the papyrus, aiming to achieve a soy-stain effect that imbues the paper with an ethereal quality reminiscent of historical artifacts. The artwork, a limited edition of 30 and 14x17.5 inches, features the god Anubis, the ancient Egyptian deity associated with mummification and the afterlife. This figure is intricately detailed with four hand-pulled silkscreen layers, culminating in a visually arresting and richly symbolic composition. The incorporation of black diamond dust in the artwork adds a tactile dimension that catches the light, creating kaleidoscopic effects that enhance the mystical aura of the piece. Diamond dust, a material once popularized by Andy Warhol, reflects Shahin's ingenuity in combining traditional screen-printing techniques with the luxurious embellishments in pop art. The resulting work is an homage to Shahin's homeland's cultural heritage, street art's vibrant energy, and the glossy sheen of pop art. Marwan Shahin's Visual Fusion of Past and Present "Anubis Afterlife" is a testament to Marwan Shahin's creative vision, where Egyptian art's rich legacy intersects with street pop art's bold immediacy. Through the figure of Anubis, Shahin bridges millennia, conversing with the symbols of ancient mythology while engaging with the aesthetics of the present. The choice of Anubis, a deity symbolizing the passage to the afterlife, suggests exploring themes such as transition, transformation, and the eternal cycle of life and death. This piece's introduction of street pop art into the pantheon of Egyptian motifs presents a unique narrative layer. In much the same way street art often appropriates and recontextualizes images and symbols from mainstream culture, Shahin reclaims an icon from his cultural history, reinterpreting it through a modern lens. This reimagining places "Anubis Afterlife" within the lineage of pop art that challenges and redefines the boundaries between high and low culture. A Tapestry of Time Woven by Marwan Shahin Marwan Shahin's "Anubis Afterlife" is a luminous example of how contemporary artists can delve into the wellspring of their heritage while contributing to the global convert conversation, underscores the potential of street pop art and graffiti to serve as a platform for cultural storytelling and artistic innovation. Through his fusion of mediums and motifs, Shahin crafts a visual tapestry that spans the ancient and the avant-garde, inviting onlookers to contemplate the seamless continuity between history and modernity. In pop art and street art, Shahin's work exemplifies how traditional elements can be re-envisioned to resonate with new audiences. His intricate layering of colors and materials transcends mere reproduction, offering an immersive experience that reflects the past and is a beacon for the future of artistic expression. "Anubis Afterlife," with its textured narrative and visual splendor, is a fine art collectible and a piece that captures the dynamic spirit of street art, embodying the pulse of a culture that reverberates through time.

  • Made in USA Flag Slap-Up Label Sticker Original Tag Art by Saber Gold 1 Made in USA Flag Slap-Up Label Sticker Original Tag Art by Saber Silver 1

Saber Made in USA Flag Slap-Up Label Sticker Original Tag Art by Saber

Made in USA Flag Slap-Up Label Sticker Original Tag Art by Saber Original Permanent Marker Art Drawing on Glossy US Flag Sticker by Graffiti Artist Modern Street Artwork. 2020 Signed US Flag Made in USA America Original Slap Up Graffiti Art Tag 4x4 Marker Tagged on Sticker. Unfurling the American Narrative Through Graffiti: The Made in USA Flag Sticker Art The potent symbol of the American flag has been a recurring motif in various forms of art, not least within the vibrant world of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork. Within this context, the 'Made in USA' flag slap-up label sticker stands out as a canvas for expression, especially in the hands of graffiti artists. Layered with original tag art, these stickers serve as miniature yet powerful vehicles for cultural and political commentary, recontextualizing a national symbol within the urban landscape. Saber's Interpretation of the American Iconography Renowned graffiti artist Saber Ryan Weston Shook has significantly contributed to this expression. His original permanent marker art drawings on glossy US flag stickers are more than just aesthetic creations; they are a form of modern street artwork that captures the essence of American identity and the spirit of its people. His work, created in 2020 and signed, embodies a raw and compelling narrative, each tag measuring 4x4 inches – a small but striking testament to the artist's skill and vision. Saber's use of the American flag as a backdrop is particularly resonant, given the flag's strong associations with patriotism, freedom, and national identity. By superimposing his tags over this symbol, Saber disrupts the viewer's usual perception, challenging them to reconsider the meaning of 'Made in USA' in the context of street art. His bold and unapologetic strokes introduce a dialogue about ownership, creativity, and the very definition of what it means to be American-made. The Evolution of Tagging and Its Cultural Relevance Tagging has evolved from straightforward signatures to complex works of art that communicate the artist's identity and status within the graffiti community. It is a practice steeped in the history of street art, one that demands attention and commands space. Regarding the 'Made in USA' flag slap-up label stickers by Saber, the tags are not just marks of territory but statements of existence. The choice of gold and silver markers adds a layer of irony, contrasting precious metals' perceived value with graffiti art's often misunderstood value. The cultural relevance of such art is immense. It taps into ongoing conversations about national pride and consumerism, questioning the authenticity of the 'Made in USA' label in an era of globalization. Moreover, it embodies the ethos of Street Pop Art, a genre that borrows from popular culture to create art that is both accessible and deeply meaningful. In Saber's hands, the flag sticker transforms into a manifesto, a declaration that art made on the streets by the hands of the many is as quintessentially American as the flag itself. The 'Made in USA' flag slap-up label stickers adorned with Saber's tags represent a microcosm of the larger narrative that Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork continually narrate. Through such pieces, artists like Saber assert their place within the American saga, crafting a version of the flag that is as diverse, complex, and vibrant as the nation it represents. These stickers are not just tags; they are emblems of a culture that celebrates the freedom of expression and the indelible marks of individuality.

  • Don’t Be a MFR AP Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Don’t Be a MFR AP Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Don't Be a MFR AP Artist Proof Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY Hand-Pulled 5-Color on Cream Speckletone Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Artwork Obey Pop Culture Artist. AP Artist Proof 2015 Signed by Shepard Fairey- OBEY & Numbered Limited Edition of 550 Artwork Size 18x24 Silkscreen Print. Don't Be A Mother Fucker. Don't Be A MOTHER#*X!! R Respect & Justice. The Provocative Appeal of 'Don't Be a MFR' by Shepard Fairey Shepard Fairey's 'Don't Be a MFR AP' is a bold exemplar in street pop art and graffiti artwork. Fairey, an American artist and provocateur born on February 15, 1970, continues to push the boundaries of art and activism. This particular work, part of an artist-proof (AP) series released in 2015, is characteristic of Fairey's approach to engaging with cultural and societal themes through his art. The hand-pulled 5-color silkscreen print on cream speckle tone paper echoes Fairey's distinctive aesthetic while carrying a strong message of respect and justice. Symbolism and Messaging in 'Don't Be a MFR' The artwork's title, 'Don't Be a MFR,' captures the eye with its intentional censoring, a tactic that allows for a broad interpretation and stirs curiosity. Within the limited edition series of 550, each piece sized at 18x24 inches, Fairey's work resonates with the power of command and the gravity of a public service announcement. The print is decorated with the words' Respect & Justice,' a direct call to action central to much of Fairey's oeuvre. Fairey employs symbols like the skull enveloped in a flower, a duality that speaks to the juxtaposition of life and death, growth and decay, reinforcing the message of the consequences of one's actions. The overall design is reminiscent of emblems and seals, often associated with authority and institutions, which Fairey repurposes to deliver his socio-political commentary. The choice of bold, angular graphics, in conjunction with the roundness of the emblematic seal, displays the tension between disruption and order, a recurrent theme in street pop art. Impact on Street Pop Art and Cultural Discourse The 'Don't Be a MFR' series exemplifies the potential of street pop art to serve as a medium for societal reflection and critique. The use of a public vernacular and the direct address to the viewer exemplify Fairey's commitment to making art accessible and demanding attention. Each print in the series, bearing Fairey's signature, is a testament to the belief that art should not shy away from controversy but rather confront and challenge the viewer. This piece, in particular, adds to the rich tapestry of graffiti artwork that has historically been used to communicate messages to a broad audience, often bypassing traditional media and institutional spaces. Fairey's work is a modern-day manifestation of this tradition, utilizing the urban canvas to prompt a public introspection on issues of respect and justice. The artwork serves not just as a visual spectacle but as a catalyst for conversation and, ideally, for action. Shepard Fairey and the Continuum of Artistic Activism Shepard Fairey's 'Don't Be a MFR' continues the artist's enduring legacy in art and activism. Residing in Los Angeles, California, Fairey remains a significant influence, harnessing the vibrancy of street pop art to voice his dissent and mobilize public sentiment. His work is anchored in the belief that art is a powerful change agent capable of inspiring individuals to think critically about the world around them. This particular silkscreen print carries the OBEY logo, an integral aspect of Fairey's brand, which doubles as a command and a critique of authoritarian tendencies. The artwork's appeal lies in its ability to be aggressive and reflective at once, pushing observers to consider their role in maintaining or disrupting social justice. Fairey's dedication to the intersection of art and societal issues solidifies his position as an artist and a significant cultural instigator in contemporary times.

There are lots of sacred symbols that are in this piece that was created with the intention to protect the space that it is hung in. During the time I was experiencing some internal shifts that inspired me to create a piece that served as a protective guardian and the Wolf Archetype strongly embodied that quality. The Wolf Archetype to me resembles a symbol of intelligence as well as a fierce guardian. My work is about creating a reflective mirror that allows the viewer to see within themselves and evoke positive internal shifts. I’ve been exploring combining archetypal symbols with Mandalas that serve as symbols of strength to protect the space they are in as well as remind the viewer of their own internal strength and power." - Chris Saunders

"This piece was born from the inspiration of a personal struggle I was experiencing with overcoming certain obstacles in my life surrounding addiction. Not just chemical addiction, but addictive thoughts and behaviors that didn't serve my highest good. The lion archetype visited me in my dreams during this time of struggle with addiction. I dreamt I was a lion running with full force through a dense jungle. I had a thick rope in my mouth and as I ran through this jungle people were fighting to grab the free sides of the rope to try and slow me down from running so fast. It was getting snagged and I felt extreme pain in my body. The pain grew to the point my body caught on fire, I could feel my flesh searing. I remember fighting through it and eventually, the pain went away and I kept running forward. Pretty Intense! So I combined my vision of the lion with the mandala to mirror a frequency of courage, strength, and power to its the viewer and the space that it is hung in." - Chris Saunders

  • This Way Up Orange Slap-Up Label Sticker Original Tag Art by Saber Gold 1 This Way Up Orange Slap-Up Label Sticker Original Tag Art by Saber Gold 1

Saber This Way Up Orange Slap-Up Label Sticker Original Tag Art by Saber

This Way Up Orange Slap-Up Label Sticker Original Tag Art by Saber Original Permanent Marker Art Drawing on Mailing Glosse Arrow Sticker by Graffiti Artist Modern Street Artwork. 2020 Signed Original Slap Up Graffiti Art Tag 4x6 Marker Tagged on Mail Service Up Arrow Label Sticker. Exact Sticker May Slightly Vary From Image. Signature Styles and Symbolism within the Graffiti Movement Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork have evolved into prominent visual languages of urban culture, often conveying potent messages of social and political dissent. Within this context, the original tag art by the American graffiti artist Saber, precisely his "This Way Up Orange Slap-Up Label Sticker," epitomizes the dynamic intersection between everyday materials and artistic expression. Known for his influential role in the graffiti community, Saber, whose real name is Ryan Weston Shook, has crafted an impactful career that extends beyond the streets and into the gallery spaces. Saber's work on the "This Way Up Orange Slap-Up Label Sticker" is a testament to street art's raw energy and spontaneity. Using a familiar mailing gloss arrow sticker as his canvas, Saber transforms an object of mundane utility into a vibrant piece of art. The choice of material is not incidental; it speaks to the graffiti tradition of appropriating public spaces and objects for personal expression. Typically signifying direction and purpose, the arrow is recontextualized here to direct attention to the overlooked surfaces of urban environments that become the graffiti artist's domain. The bold use of orange and the confident strokes of the marker creates a striking contrast, emphasizing the piece's visual impact. Saber's gestural lines, layered and overlapping, defy the simplicity of the sticker's original purpose. This interplay of color and form is characteristic of Street Pop Art, where the vibrancy of popular culture is distilled into visual snippets that capture the viewer's attention. The year 2020, when this piece was created, saw a resurgence in graffiti art's relevance, mirroring a time of social upheaval and the search for new means of expression. Saber's "This Way Up Orange Slap-Up Label Sticker" aligns with the historical ethos of graffiti as a form of resistance and identity. By signing the artwork, the artist asserts ownership and authenticity, a bold claim in the often anonymous world of street art. Graffiti Artwork, traditionally seen as vandalism, has gained recognition in the art world, blurring the lines between high art and street culture. Saber's work, much like that of his predecessors and contemporaries, challenges preconceived notions of what constitutes art and who is deemed an artist. The permanence of the marker on the gloss arrow sticker symbolizes the lasting impact of graffiti culture, an indelible mark on the face of contemporary art history. The "This Way Up Orange Slap-Up Label Sticker" by Saber is more than a mere piece of original permanent marker art. It reflects the artist's American heritage, a snapshot of the year 2020, and a bold statement within the Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork movement. Saber, who remains a pivotal figure in the graffiti world, continues to inspire and provoke, ensuring that his art remains a part of the urban landscape as the streets themselves.

Pattern of Corruption Black Gold AP Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY x Cleon Peterson Artist Proof Hand-Pulled 2-Color Screen Print on Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Graffiti Pop Street Artwork. AP Artist Proof 2015 Signed & AP Marked Original Run Limited Edition of 150 Artwork Size 18x24 Repeating Image of Tribal Man With Bloody Knife and Lotus Flower Vine Pattern Silkscreen "Cleon Peterson and I recently collaborated on a mural in Miami’s Wynwood district and were happy enough with the end result to decide to make some limited edition screen prints inspired by the mural. Cleon and I both deal with the persistent themes of the fragility of society, human savagery, and corruption in our work. The image has a dichotomy in its hypnotic classical floral pattern with sinister elements woven into it, which caution the viewer to look deeper than an appealing surface presentation." - SHepard Fairey "Pattern of Corruption Black Gold" is a striking representation of the collaboration between two giants of the street art world, Shepard Fairey, best known for his OBEY campaign, and Cleon Peterson. As an AP Silkscreen print, this piece emphasizes the hand-crafted nature of their work, a detail that resonates deeply with enthusiasts of street and pop art. Shepard Fairey's iconic art has always challenged societal norms, provoking viewers to consider underlying complexities and contradictions present in contemporary society. Cleon Peterson, with his depictions of chaotic human interactions, similarly forces viewers to grapple with the darker underbelly of humanity. The inspiration behind this piece emerged from the mural the duo worked on together in Miami’s Wynwood district, a place renowned for its vibrant street art scene. It's evident in the AP Silkscreen print how their artistic styles and messages seamlessly intertwine. The meticulous detail of a tribal man brandishing a bloody knife juxtaposed with the lotus flower vine pattern invites introspection on the duality of human nature. The combination of tribal motifs with classical floral patterns not only alludes to a blending of the traditional with the contemporary but also serves as a cautionary tale. The surface beauty of the design may lure the viewer in, but as Fairey himself mentioned, the sinister undertones remind us to delve deeper and question the allure. A limited-edition release, with only 150 prints available, the artwork has achieved heightened significance among collectors and enthusiasts. The hand-pulled, two-color screen print on fine art paper stands as a testament to the dedication of the artists to their craft. The "Pattern of Corruption Black Gold" is not merely an artwork; it's a poignant commentary on society's fragility and the ever-present themes of corruption and human savagery, themes that both Fairey and Peterson have consistently explored in their works.

Particularly, I so remember the early 90’s and seeing a lot of Raider, Charger, Chivas de Guadalajara and America jersey’s and of course those of the Dodger’s and their blue and white hats with the iconic LA blazoned on the front. But my immediate family was different. My dad who in the early 1990’s sold automotive paint and painted cars was surprisingly not that much into the usual sports but all except for BOXING! At that point in time I remember the gatherings at my house when there was a Julio Ces One- Rob Provenzano ar Chavez fight, a De La Hoya fight or a Maromero Paez fight. My dad would bring the TV outside, set-up a bunch of chairs, roll out the grill, fire up the mesquite and lay down the marinated carne asada before the first round bell. I remember how much fun those days were and how much pride people had in the Mexican fighters." -Ernesto Yerena Montejano

Promised Land Night Silkscreen Print by Cleon Peterson Hand-Pulled 2-Color Screen Print on 290gsm Coventry Rag Paper Hand DeckledLimited Edition Pop Street Art Artwork. 2023 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 75 Artwork Size 24x24 Renowned for his striking and confrontational style, Cleon Peterson is an artist whose work brings to life the undercurrents of societal strife and conflict. Known for his vivid depictions of brutal scenes that reflect a world in chaos, Peterson is widely recognized as a significant figure in the realms of pop art, street art, and graffiti art. His work often provides a haunting mirror to societal tensions, rendering them visually captivating through the stark contrast between light and dark, order and chaos, violence and peace. One piece that exemplifies this distinctive style is his "Promised Land Night" silkscreen print. True to Peterson's style, the work explores the darker facets of human nature in a dichromatic palette - typically a stark contrast of black and white or, in this case, dark navy blue and white. It showcases figures engaged in what appears to be a chaotic, violent struggle, as a symbol of the perpetual conflict and power dynamics within societies. Despite its seemingly bleak narrative, the composition carries an undeniable magnetism, skillfully drawing the viewer in. The silkscreen print method, known for its bold, crisp lines and the ability to create vibrant, flat areas of color, serves Peterson's style perfectly. It underscores the harsh narrative of his work while simultaneously highlighting the meticulous detail of his composition. Each figure, while entangled in the wider chaos, holds its narrative, rendering the piece a compelling visual exploration of societal unrest. The "Promised Land Night" speaks volumes of Peterson's vision of the world – not shying away from harsh realities, but rather confronting and examining them through his artwork. With the ever-present contrast between the stark visual style and the dark themes, Peterson positions himself firmly in the continuum of pop and street art, challenging viewers to consider the depths of human nature and societal structures. It is through such bold pieces that Cleon Peterson cements his place in contemporary art, forever pushing boundaries and igniting necessary conversations about society and its structures.

"Drenched in the hues of gold and black, "Sirens Of The Past Night" is a celebration of Greek mythology, portrayed through the lens of modern pop art. The focal point of the artwork revolves around the representation of three nude sirens, figures known in ancient tales for their enchanting voices and mesmerizing beauty. The sirens have been depicted with great detail and attention, their forms styled in a manner that is quintessentially Peterson - a fusion of raw street art elements and refined pop art aesthetics. The stylistic elements in the piece are intentionally provocative, echoing the artist’s commentary on societal conflicts and human nature. Peterson is renowned for his compelling visual narratives that delve into the paradoxical aspects of the human condition, the nuances of which can be observed in this print. The sirens symbolize not only their mythical attributes but can also be interpreted as metaphoric reflections of the human psyche, a recurring theme in his body of work. The artwork's choice of contrasting gold and black adds another layer of intrigue, signifying the perpetual conflict between light and darkness, good and evil. Black Graffiti Street Pop Artwork

Depth and Dimension: The Role of Black in Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork

Black as a Powerful Medium in Urban Art

Black, a color that can be both the absence of light and the amalgamation of all pigments in the art world, holds a fundamental place in the street pop art and graffiti genres. Its multifaceted and profound use provides depth, contrast, and definition. In the hands of artists, black is not merely a color; it's an essential component of visual storytelling that can convey various themes and emotions, from the stark and severe to the rich and sophisticated.

Techniques Embracing the Intensity of Black

The techniques used to apply black in urban artwork are as diverse as the artists themselves. It can be found in the sharp lines of stencils that cut through the noise of colorful backdrops or in the swirling shadows that give murals a sense of life and movement. Black often outlines figures and shapes, making them pop from their surroundings and granting them an arresting visual clarity. In addition, the texture of black paint or ink can range from a matte finish that absorbs light, creating a void-like effect, to a glossy sheen that suggests a sleek, modern aesthetic. Culturally, black carries significant weight. It can symbolize rebellion or conformity, chaos or order, nothingness, or the complex integration of all that is colorful. In street pop art and graffiti, black is commonly associated with the underground, the edgy, and the avant-garde. It is the color of the night, the urban, and the unknown. Black's ability to make other colors stand out while still commanding its presence makes it a powerful tool for artists seeking to challenge norms and make bold statements.

Compositional Balance and Boldness with Black

In composition, black's role is unparalleled. It offers an anchor within the artwork, a point of return for the eye amidst the visual excitement of brighter hues. Using black can balance a piece, adding a sense of stability and grounding. However, it also has the power to dominate, to turn a multicolored mural into a monochromatic statement, or to bring a sense of solemnity and gravity to street pop art and graffiti pieces. The future of black in street pop art and graffiti artwork looks as solid as the color itself. As urban art continues to evolve, the applications and symbolism of black are likely to deepen and diversify. New materials and methods will expand the range of textures and finishes available to artists, from the blackest blacks that absorb nearly all light to reflective surfaces that play with the urban environment's illumination. In street pop art and graffiti, black is a foundational element, a color as essential as the spaces it adorns. It is a color that speaks in whispers and shouts, a color that refuses to be silent, and a color that, paradoxically, brings the vibrant world of urban art to life. Whether used with precision or with wild abandon, black remains a testament to the enduring power and versatility of color in the hands of those who seek to transform the cityscape into a canvas of personal expression and public engagement.
