  • Unsolved Mystery 20 Archival Print by Dave Pollot

Dave Pollot Unsolved Mystery 20 Archival Print by Dave Pollot

Unsolved Mystery 20 Archival Print by Dave Pollot Limited Edition on PH Neutral 17mil Canvas Pop Graffiti Street Art Artist Modern Artwork. 2023 Signed & Numbered Print Limited Edition of 100 Artwork Size 16x20 Archival Pigment Fine Art on Canvas of the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine Van in a Swamp Dave Pollot's "Unsolved Mystery 20": A Nostalgic Reimagining in Street Pop Art Dave Pollot's "Unsolved Mystery 20" is a striking archival print that bridges the familiarity of childhood nostalgia with the aesthetic sensibilities of Pop Graffiti and Street Art. The piece is part of a limited edition series, numbered and signed by Pollot himself, and is limited to a collection of 100. At 16x20 inches, this artwork captures a vivid reimagining of the iconic Scooby Doo Mystery Machine Van, now situated in a desolate swamp, rendered on PH-neutral 17mil canvas that promises durability and color retention. Pollot, an American artist renowned for his adept repurposing of thrift art, infuses new life into forgotten landscapes by introducing modern pop culture elements. "Unsolved Mystery 20" is emblematic of Pollot's approach, as he deftly places a symbol of adventure and mystery from a beloved cartoon into a classical, almost pastoral, painting, thereby creating a dialogue between the old and the new, the playful and the serene. Technique and Innovation in Canvas Print Art The archival pigment used in the fine art on canvas provides a textural depth and color richness, bringing the compositional elements to life. Pollot's technique ensures that each print is a visual experience and an archival piece that can withstand the test of time. Using PH-neutral canvas in creating "Unsolved Mystery 20" is a testament to Pollot's commitment to quality and longevity, ensuring that the art remains free from the yellowing that can occur with acidic materials. The image itself serves as a powerful visual narrative. The Mystery Machine, a van that once symbolized the journey towards uncovering truths, now lies abandoned in a swamp, suggesting a tale untold or a case left unsolved. This evokes a sense of nostalgia tinged with melancholy, inviting viewers to ponder the stories behind the image. It's a stark reflection on the passage of time and the shifting nature of stories and symbols in our culture. The Cultural Impact of Dave Pollot's Work Dave Pollot's contributions to modern Street Pop Art and the broader art community have been marked by his playful yet provocative reinventions of traditional art. By incorporating elements from pop culture into idyllic scenes from discarded paintings, Pollot challenges the viewer's perceptions and expectations. In "Unsolved Mystery 20", the Mystery Machine's unexpected appearance in a classic landscape disrupts the original work's serenity, creating a humorous and thought-provoking contrast. Pollot's work is particularly resonant because it offers more than just aesthetic pleasure; it also provides commentary on the transience of pop culture and its enduring influence on our collective consciousness. By placing a modern icon within a forgotten backdrop, he captures the essence of timelessness within the ever-changing tides of cultural relevance. As an artist, Pollot continues to intrigue and inspire with his imaginative interpretations of both the banal and the iconic. His distinctive style has carved out a unique space in art where the line between traditional and contemporary art forms is celebrated and blurred. "Unsolved Mystery 20", with its poignant portrayal of an abandoned cultural icon, encapsulates this blend perfectly, ensuring Pollot's place as a significant figure in the narrative of contemporary art.

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Modular Silkscreen Print by Add Fuel x Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Modular Silkscreen Print by Add Fuel x Shepard Fairey- OBEY Hand-Pulled on Cream Speckletone Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Artwork Obey Pop Culture Artist. 2022 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 500 Artwork Size 18x24 Silkscreen Print "Diogo Machado aka ADD FUEL’s art functions on several levels literally and metaphorically. His pieces master the aesthetics of traditional Portuguese tile work while adding his own playful character illustrations subversively woven into the designs. These two seemingly disparate styles are so elegantly blended together that discovering the oddity within the harmony is both bizarre and joyful. The actual and faux rips ADD FUEL incorporates into his art are more than just a nod to paper, the common material of modern street art, they’re also a provocative bit of visual dissonance since tiles don’t rip. Despite the incongruity of tiles and rips, ADD FUEL’s visually seductive compositions evoke a sense of time passed and a story behind each layer." -Shepard Fairey- OBEY In the sphere of contemporary art, the collaborative silkscreen print by Add Fuel and Shepard Fairey represents a unique fusion of traditional motifs and modern sensibilities. This limited edition piece, restricted to a run of 500 and signed and numbered by the artists, is a striking example of pop culture artistry on a cream speckletone fine art paper, measuring 18x24 inches. Created in 2022, this 5-color hand-pulled print showcases the distinct styles of both artists, marrying the classical aesthetic of Portuguese tile design with the urban edge of graffiti art. Diogo Machado, who operates under the alias Add Fuel, reimagines the conventional ceramic tile as a canvas for street art. His contribution to this print is distinguished by the intricate simulation of traditional tile patterns, interspersed with his characteristic playful characters that add a layer of whimsy and critique. The interplay of these detailed designs with Shepard Fairey's iconic Obey imagery lends the work a complex, layered narrative. Fairey, a luminary in the street art movement, brings his bold graphics and propagandistic flair to the collaboration, creating a visual dialogue between past and present artistic expressions. The print's allure is amplified by the intentional 'rips' trailing its surface. This clever trompe l'oeil effect disrupts the tilework's permanence with the ephemeral nature of paper, a staple medium for street artists. These artificial tears challenge viewers' perceptions, hinting at the transient nature of art and commentary on the fragility of cultural heritage. As Fairey noted, the juxtaposition of durable ceramic and tearable paper forms a compelling contrast that is visually arresting and conceptually profound. This artwork transcends the boundaries of its medium, inviting contemplation on the evolution of artistic expression and the enduring impact of cultural symbols. In this union of Add Fuel's meticulous craftsmanship and Shepard Fairey's aggressive style, a new narrative emerges, one that celebrates both individual creativity and the collective memory encapsulated within traditional art forms.

  • While Supplies Last Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Shepard Fairey- OBEY While Supplies Last Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

While Supplies Last Hand-Pulled 4-Color Silkscreen Print on Cream Speckletone Fine Art Paper by Artist Shepard Fairey Limited Edition Pop Art Artwork. 2019 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 500 Artwork Size 24x12 “The “While Supplies Last” print is a combination of several approaches to image making that I enjoy, and also find versatile and impactful. I have worked in modular ways utilizing repetition for both practical and conceptual reasons. I like the soothing repetition of patterns while I also see them as a pleasing decorative device to balance the more confrontational nature of some of my messages. Flowers have been consistent motifs in my work as symbols of positive growth and harmony. Humor is also a way I deliver challenging statements. “While Supplies Last” employs all of those approaches to basically convey the idea that things like flowers that we mostly take for granted will be sorely missed when the scorched planet will no longer grow them. Of course, the concept extends much further than just flowers, but flowers are a pretty universally relatable symbol. Whatever you treasure from nature, protect it so their supply is renewable. A portion of proceeds from this print will benefit Greenpeace USA to support its efforts to combat climate change and environmental recklessness.” -Shepard Fairey Shepard Fairey's work is highly political and social, not only because he is incorporating politicians and slogans in it but more importantly because the artist is primarily interested in approaching as many people as possible, exhibiting his work in the covers of the books, which we read, in the music albums, to which we listen, and on the walls of the streets, where we walk. “If I put art in a daring spot, it’s more moving to the viewer and demonstrates my conviction.”, he says. After all, Fairey, in many cases, directly expresses his views on politics and society, whenever he is given the chance. For example, in the aftermath of the “Hope” poster, he commented the following: “Obama has had a really tough time, but there have been a lot of things that he's compromised on that I never would have expected. I mean, drones and domestic spying are the last things I would have thought [he'd support]”. The political aspect of his work can, also, be seen under the spectrum of Fairey’s activism and humanitarian activity. Many of his works have been created as part of activism campaigns or were sold to support causes relevant to the Arts, animal rights, poverty, medical research, the environment, etc. The artist, however, doesn’t identify himself as an activist: “People ask me if I’m an activist, and my answer is no. I’m an artist with a point of view, but I want to do my part to supplement activist causes I believe in. I feel fortunate to connect with people who find my imagery useful and help spread it.”

This limited edition giclee print on an aluminum sheet represents a bold step in Hirst's oeuvre, amalgamating the raw vitality of street art with the meticulous sophistication of fine art printmaking. This piece, signed and numbered by the artist in verso on a label, underscores his adeptness not only in traditional artistic realms but also in the innovative domain of urban art. With only 578 editions available, the artwork, measuring 36.61x47.24 inches, emerges as a covetable collectible. Hirst, born in Bristol, England, in 1965, continues to be a towering figure in the art world, known for his audacious and often controversial works that explore themes of life, death, and experience. His journey into street pop art and graffiti artwork with this collection offers a fascinating lens through which to view his unceasing evolution as an artist. Eclectic Aesthetics of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork 'Selflessness H14-7' integrates street pop art's spontaneity and rebellious spirit with the elegance of Hirst's more traditional art forms. The giclee metal print technique, known for its high fidelity to the original color palette and precision, provides a durable and reflective quality that is both modern and luxurious. In this work, Hirst harnesses the aluminum's inherent properties to imbue the image with a dynamic sheen, further intensifying the visual impact of the floral array depicted. The piece's vibrant composition is a vivid flora tableau that seems to burst forth from the confines of its metallic canvas. The artwork is reminiscent of the brief and organic graffiti tags in urban landscapes, transforming into a permanent and prestigious form. Hirst's signature use of vibrant colors and the layering of paint drops create a sense of depth and texture often associated with graffiti art. Damien Hirst and the Allure of Aluminum Prints In 'The Secret Gardens series, Hirst continues to challenge the boundaries between high art and the more democratic and streetwise expressions of pop and graffiti art. By presenting this series as laminated giclee prints on aluminum sheets, Hirst is not only indulging in the aesthetic pleasure of reflective mediums but also underscoring the permanence of art in contrast to the often transient nature of street art. The metal substrate connotes an industrial backdrop reminiscent of the urban environments that birth graffiti, providing a poignant canvas for nature's lush and chaotic depictions. This choice of medium and technique marks a deliberate fusion of the fleeting with the everlasting, the organic with the manufactured, and the traditional with the avant-garde. 'Selflessness H14-7' thus becomes an artifact of modern urban culture, elevated to high art through Hirst's deft conceptualization and execution. The artwork reflects Hirst's perpetual exploration of life's dualities and the complexities of human perception. It speaks to the viewer on multiple levels, inviting them to reconsider the conventional divisions between art forms and the spaces they occupy. Damien Hirst's 'Selflessness H14-7' from 'The Secret Gardens series significantly contributes to street pop art and graffiti artwork. Using an aluminum sheet as a canvas for a giclee print showcases the hybridization of art forms. It mirrors the synthesis of urban grit with the vibrancy of the natural world. As Hirst continues to produce thought-provoking art actively, works like this not only captivate the imagination of their audience but also hold a mirror to the evolving landscape of contemporary art itself.

  • Wetland Powers Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Wetland Powers Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Wetland Powers Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY Hand-Pulled on Cream Speckletone Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Artwork Obey Pop Culture Artist. 2023 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 550 Artwork Size 18x24 Silkscreen Print "This Wetland Powers print examines the repercussions of a Supreme Court largely in the pockets of big oil. The government is supposed to create the greatest good for the greatest number of people. Still, the conservative justices in the current Supreme Court have put the agendas of big oil and wealthy property owners ahead of safe and clean water for the citizenry. The concept of "common assets"… no one owns resources like air and water and needs to be protected for the benefit of all, seems lost on many people in business and government. It is up to us as voters to elect representatives who put the needs of the citizens first. The Supreme Court makeup is always important to consider when voting for our president since the sitting president selects appointees for Supreme Court justices." -Shepard Fairey- OBEY Shepard Fairey's "Wetland Powers": A Statement in Street Pop Art In street pop art, Shepard Fairey stands as a figure of monumental influence; his work is often intertwined with solid socio-political messages. The "Wetland Powers" silkscreen print by Shepard Fairey, also known as OBEY, is a striking example of his commitment to merging art with activism. Released in 2023, this limited edition piece, hand-pulled on cream speckletone fine art paper, is more than a visually arresting image; it's a conduit for a critical conversation about environmental justice and governance. Dissecting "Wetland Powers" by Shepard Fairey The artwork, sized at 18x24 inches, is part of a limited edition of 550 signed and numbered prints. In typical Fairey fashion, the piece combines a bold aesthetic with a message that challenges viewers to consider the impact of political decisions on the environment. The imagery features a female figure with elements that suggest a connection to nature and its defense. Fairey's work is known for its layered visual language; every element serves a symbolic purpose, and "Wetland Powers" is no exception. Environmental Advocacy through Art In "Wetland Powers," Fairey addresses the contentious issue of land rights versus environmental protection, particularly highlighting the Supreme Court's role in shaping the fate of U.S. wetlands. The print serves as a commentary on the court's decisions that Fairey perceives as favoring corporate interests over public environmental health. Through this piece, Fairey expresses his belief in safeguarding common assets — air, water, and land — for the collective good. The Cultural Resonance of Fairey's Work Shepard Fairey's art has always resonated with a broad audience, and his Obey campaign has become a cultural phenomenon. With "Wetland Powers," Fairey continues to tap into the collective consciousness, using his art as a platform to advocate for ecological and social responsibility. The work underscores the power of street pop art to transcend the canvas and become a vehicle for change, urging citizens to reflect on their role as voters and to elect leaders who prioritize the welfare of all. "Wetland Powers" is a testament to Shepard Fairey's enduring role as an artist at the forefront of street pop and graffiti artwork. His ability to address pressing global issues through compelling imagery cements his status as an artist dedicated to the intersection of art and advocacy. As a limited edition print, "Wetland Powers" represents Fairey's artistic prowess and embodies the spirit of street art as a form of engaged public discourse.

Anthony Hurd As I Live and Breathe Archival Print by Anthony Hurd

As I Live and Breathe> New World Disorder Series Limited Edition Archival Pigment Prints on 310gsm Fine Art Paper by Anthony Hurd Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. "These pieces are part of what started as palette cleansers. I would take what is left of the paint from other pieces and just let loose with large strokes on a small board and see what comes of it. The first couple pieces I did like this were a couple of years ago and they were way less evolved. Purely strokes with just a touch of more graphic details. In the last year, I really started to build on them and build them out into whole new worlds. It’s a total exploration phase for me. In between the pieces I already had in the works this was an outlet to completely move freely. To my own surprise really they were a very successful exploration in many ways.

AP Artist Proof 2021 Signed & AP Marked Original Run Limited Edition Artwork Size 18x24 Silkscreen Print of Red Lotus Flower & Electric Power Lines. "These Flower Power prints are a symbolic urge for a concerted effort to transition off of fossil fuels and to sustainable energy sources. Life, as we know it on Earth, will depend on this transition happening with the support of citizens, government, and corporations. Read "This Changes Everything" by Naomi Klein if you'd like a strong analysis of the severity of the climate crisis and the urgency to transition off of fossil fuels. Proceeds from these prints will benefit 350.org to support their work around the climate emergency. Thanks for caring." -Shepard Fairey Shepard Fairey, the mind behind the iconic OBEY imagery, once again channels his signature blend of street and pop art in the "Flower Power Red AP" silkscreen print. An emblem of countercultural movement, Fairey's piece presents a striking juxtaposition of the serene blue lotus flower against the industrial backdrop of electric power lines. Cast on Speckletone Fine Art Paper, this hand-pulled screen print not only exemplifies the artist's meticulous craftsmanship but also carries a poignant and timely message. The "Flower Power" series, which this print is a part of, stands as a clarion call for humanity's pivot from environmentally harmful fossil fuels to more sustainable energy sources. This transition, as Fairey suggests, is not just a matter of technological or economic feasibility; it is an imperative for the continuity of life as we understand it. The reference to Naomi Klein's "This Changes Everything" underscores the severity of the looming climate crisis, offering readers a comprehensive analysis of our current ecological predicament and the urgency with which we must act. Beyond its aesthetic appeal and socio-political commentary, the artwork demonstrates Fairey's commitment to environmental advocacy. Proceeds from the sale of these prints are directed to 350.org, an organization at the forefront of the global movement to address climate change. Such initiatives are emblematic of Fairey's approach to art — one that is not just visually stimulating but also deeply rooted in activism and the broader call to collective action. Through this masterful piece, Shepard Fairey once again reiterates the power of art in shaping conversations, influencing change, and fostering a more conscious global community.

Nature

Nature can be a powerful and versatile subject in graffiti street pop art. Artists can use natural elements such as trees, flowers, and animals to create stunning murals that reflect their connection to the environment and their appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. One popular approach to incorporating nature into graffiti street pop art is to create large-scale murals that depict realistic or stylized versions of natural subjects. For example, an artist might paint a towering tree that stretches across an entire wall, or a brightly colored bird that appears to be taking flight. These types of murals can be incredibly impactful, as they capture the majesty and wonder of the natural world in a way that is both awe-inspiring and accessible to viewers. Another approach is to use natural elements as part of a larger composition. For example, an artist might incorporate leaves or vines into a more abstract design, using them as a way to add texture, color, and depth to the piece. This can create a dynamic and visually compelling work of art that is both abstract and organic. Finally, some artists use nature as a way to make political or social statements. For example, an artist might create a mural that depicts an endangered animal or a tree that has been cut down, drawing attention to the impacts of human activities on the environment. This type of art can be a powerful way to raise awareness and inspire action on environmental issues. Nature is a rich and endlessly inspiring subject for graffiti street pop art. By incorporating natural elements into their work, artists can create beautiful and thought-provoking pieces that connect viewers to the environment and encourage them to appreciate and protect the natural world.
