Nowadays, graffiti in the form of prints has taken the world by storm. This is the case for graffiti prints, which often follow the same styles, techniques, or even use of materials but on a different scale and on top of a series of different media instead of the typical use of public walls. However, it is, also, possible that artists use other kinds of resources, more usually found inside art studios, such as pens, watercolors, oil paint e.tc, which are not conventionally utilized for the creation of works on the streets. Simultaneously, graffiti in the form of prints digital or handmade allows the artists to take their time and focus on the creative process without having to take into consideration the legal consequences of creating on public sites. Nonetheless, undoubtedly the greatest advantage of prints over traditional graffiti is the fact that it can be exhibited multiply in different parts of the same city or even in a series of different cities or countries worldwide. Finally, graffiti prints seem to a certain extent to last longer in comparison with art that exists exclusively on the streets, where local authorities tend to clean or cover up numerous pieces due to their illegal status. On the other hand, exactly due to their creation behind closed doors, drawings tend to win less visibility, since they are not exposed to the public on an everyday basis. Graffiti emerged in the US during the late 1960s and, naturally, since then till our days, almost 50 years later, this art has gone through a lot of stages of reformation. Aspects of the creative process such as the materials in use and the techniques have evolved tremendously, as well as the perception of graffiti as a respectable form of art. On top of that, the former “writers” or “taggers” are now referred to as artists, a development that arose with the evergrowing institutionalization and commercialization of graffiti. Needless to say, graffiti has never ceased to exist in public sight and with time authorities all over the world have come to accept to a certain extent the presence of it inside the city web. As a result, the legal status of “writing” has enabled artists to experiment more freely with new materials and techniques, a development that has emerged especially during the past decade.
Purchase Tell Your Bumps Limited Edition Archival Pigment Print on 310gsm Fine Art Paper by Peeta graffiti street artist modern pop art. "This piece is part of a 2011 production. Most of the works I have painted during the last part of that year follow the same trend: the painting of fictional brush strokes over the 3d piece on canvas. The practice inspired me to create new volumetric and dynamic effects. Each time I paint a new canvas, I aim to discover the most optimal way to use colors, light and shade to reach a three-dimensional result. Layering splashes of color over the letters brings into keen focus their three-dimensionality, transforming them into real objects that not only cast shadows but also receive or obscure the subsequent blottings and swipes of paint." - Peeta

Purchase Waste Limited Edition Archival Pigment Prints on 310gsm Fine Art Paper by Saif Chilmiran graffiti street artist modern pop art. "This piece is part of the series, “Trash” which is currently on display at Courtyard Gallery as part of the “Pop Wall” exhibition. As a contemporary street art exhibition, my work corresponded to the gritty, do-it-yourself atmosphere of the collection. I think it fits well alongside the Dotmasters’ amazing stencils of trash bags since both series portray trash in different ways. Each of the originals took between 5 to 8 weeks. I use various elements from my garbage with some metalwork and plenty of epoxy. The items used are the disposable aftermath of my other works, taken from empty spray paint canisters, paintbrushes, markers, lighters and what happens to be occupying my workspace at the day." - Saif Chilmarin

Denial’s art is strongly political and social since the artist takes specific positions against issues, such as capitalism, consumer culture, and advertisements. He has a long history of exploring the boundaries of appropriation, which he uses as a means of subverting the value of cultural products, imprinted in the collective memory of the Western civilization. "I originally painted a version of this in Wynwood at Art Basel this year (2015). Like a lot of working artists I put the entire trip on my credit card and had to deal with it after I got the "bill." It's basically a statement on living day to day and trying to figure it all out. Like how to make art and travel and live with some balance to it all.I have an affinity, as many people do to superheroes. I really think they are a beautiful sentiment to a very messed up world/existence." - Denial Denial is a Canadian artist who experiments with aerosol and stencil art, while his main fields of interest are consumerism, politics and the human condition in today’s society. Since the culture of graffiti was gaining more and more popularity in the US and Europe, the taggers had to be increasingly original in order to stand out.
