Fallen Angel- Blue Limited Edition 2-Color Hand-Pulled Mixed media Silkscreen Print on 300gsm Fabriano Watercolour Paper by Copyright Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. "This image I first made in 2011, I released 2 colorways of it at the time that sold out. In 2013 I had my 10-year anniversary show where I was able to be nostalgic about my own work, after which I started to reprise old favorites in new ways. I made these and kept them back until the time was right. As my first print release in the USA and as an introduction to my work, it seemed like the perfect time to put them out. Angels are a reoccurring motif for me and most of my pictures draw from a bitter-sweet theme. So the image of a fallen angel is a powerfully symbolic way to portray this. I use symbols and iconography within my paintings to help build a story/narrative, usually small icons or tattoos." - Copyright

Angel
Angels have been a popular subject in graffiti art prints and street art prints for many years. These celestial beings are often depicted in a variety of ways, ranging from traditional depictions with wings and halos to more modern interpretations that are more abstract or stylized. The use of angels in graffiti and street art can be seen as a way of exploring themes of spirituality, protection, and guidance. One of the most common ways that angels are depicted in graffiti and street art is through the use of wings. Often, these wings are portrayed in an exaggerated and stylized manner, emphasizing their symbolic importance rather than attempting to create a realistic representation. This approach can be seen in works by artists such as Banksy, who often uses angel wings in his pieces to convey a sense of hope and freedom. In addition to wings, halos are another common motif in angelic graffiti and street art. These circular symbols of light are often used to represent divinity or enlightenment, and can be found in a wide range of styles and designs. Some artists choose to incorporate halos into larger compositions, while others use them as standalone elements to create striking and impactful images. Another popular approach to incorporating angels into graffiti and street art is through the use of religious iconography. This can include depictions of angels with religious symbols such as crosses, as well as scenes from religious texts or stories. These pieces often have a deeper symbolic meaning, and can be interpreted in a variety of ways depending on the viewer's personal beliefs and experiences. Beyond their religious connotations, angels can also be seen as symbols of protection and guidance. In this context, they are often used in pieces that explore themes of hope, support, and comfort. Some artists use angels as a way of encouraging viewers to look towards the future with optimism, while others create pieces that offer a sense of reassurance and stability in uncertain times. Angels have become an enduring and widely used subject in graffiti art prints and street art prints. Whether portrayed in a traditional manner or through more contemporary interpretations, these celestial beings continue to inspire and captivate viewers with their ethereal beauty and spiritual significance. As the genre of graffiti and street art continues to evolve and grow, it is likely that we will continue to see new and exciting takes on this timeless subject.
