He was born in Paris in 1981 and raised in the suburbs of Tunis, where he was exposed to the richness of Arabic calligraphy from an early age. eL Seed's artwork is characterized by the intricate patterns and fluid lines of Arabic calligraphy, which he uses to create large-scale murals, installations, and sculptures. His work explores the intersection of language, identity, and culture, and often incorporates messages of social and political significance. eL Seed's career began in the early 2000s, when he started tagging the streets of Paris with his signature calligraphic style. His work quickly gained recognition, and he soon became a prominent figure in the European street art scene. In 2011, eL Seed gained international attention with his "Lost Walls" project, in which he painted a series of murals in the slums of Cairo, Egypt, using calligraphy to convey messages of hope and positivity.
