  • Lion Mandala Silkscreen Print by Chris Saunders

Chris Saunders Lion Mandala Silkscreen Print by Chris Saunders

Lion Mandala Limited Edition 2-Color Hand-Pulled Silkscreen Print with Spot UV Layer on 130lb French Black Licorice Paper by Chris Saunders Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. 2015 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 100 Artwork Size 24x24 Custom Framed in Distressed Gold Frame. "This piece was born from the inspiration of a personal struggle I was experiencing with overcoming certain obstacles in my life surrounding addiction. Not just chemical addiction, but addictive thoughts and behaviors that didn't serve my highest good. The lion archetype visited me in my dreams during this time of struggle with addiction. I dreamt I was a lion running with full force through a dense jungle. I had a thick rope in my mouth and as I ran through this jungle people were fighting to grab the free sides of the rope to try and slow me down from running so fast. It was getting snagged and I felt extreme pain in my body. The pain grew to the point my body caught on fire, I could feel my flesh searing. I remember fighting through it and eventually, the pain went away and I kept running forward. Pretty Intense! So I combined my vision of the lion with the mandala to mirror a frequency of courage, strength, and power to its the viewer and the space that it is hung in." - Chris Saunders

"I did this one just for the fun of it when I had some spare time between projects and always wanted to do a screen print out of it. So when 1xRUN contacted me for another release this was the perfect opportunity to get this one printed finally.I'm a big fan of symbolism as you guys know from our last print. I'm always interested in symbols and the meanings behind it. Every element makes sense and is incorporated for a reason in this artwork. I think it is necessary for my work that all the elements represent something, are meaningful and make sense somehow. I enjoy cryptic, mystic and meaningful icons and elements, so this is why I wanted to create my own Zodiac at some point. " - Dxtr

Glenn Barr Muse of the World Ochre Silkscreen Print by Glenn Barr

Muse of the World- Ochre Limited 2-Color Screen Print on 140lbs French Fine Art Paper by Glenn Barr street artist modern pop art. "This image was a popular poster I had released a few years ago. I decided to take it to a more “handcrafted” limited edition print different from offset. Last year I had it transcribed into a 2 color silk screen print and released it with only 25 in the edition, made for my show at Inner State Gallery in Detroit...They went fast. In celebration of the popular image I wanted to do another version. This time changing the color ways from the electric red. 50 editions to be in cool blues and another 50 in deep golds. Then to add a special edition and limited to 25 I created a 3rd screen with line work to enhance the Muse’s spectacle of flight." - Glenn Barr

French Fine Art Paper

French Fine Art Paper and Its Esteemed Place in Art

French fine art paper has long been esteemed in the art world for its superior quality and durability, making it a favored choice among artists working in various disciplines, including street pop art and graffiti. Renowned for its smooth texture, consistency, and ability to hold ink and pigments without bleeding or fading, French fine art paper is a staple for artists who demand the best from their materials.

Integration in Street Pop Art and Graffiti

In the arenas of street pop art and graffiti, the choice of paper is crucial. Artists often select French fine art paper for its ability to translate the vibrancy and detail of their work into prints that stand the test of time. The durability of this paper type ensures that the dynamic colors and sharp lines characteristic of street pop art and graffiti are preserved, whether the artwork is displayed in a gallery or sold as limited edition prints.

Sustainability and Quality

Eco-consciousness is ever-present in the art community, and French fine art paper often meets these environmental standards. Many French paper mills use sustainable practices, producing paper that not only meets the aesthetic and functional needs of artists but also aligns with a growing demand for environmentally responsible art materials. The longevity of the paper also means that art pieces remain as legacies to future generations, without compromising the planet's health.

Contribution to the Legacy of Street Art

The legacy of street art and its transition into the world of fine art is partially credited to the use of high-quality materials like French fine art paper. By elevating the medium, artists have bridged the gap between ephemeral street art and enduring art pieces. The paper's ability to capture the nuances of spray paint, stencils, and hand-drawn elements has allowed street art to be celebrated with the same reverence traditionally reserved for fine art.

Future Prospects

As street pop art and graffiti continue to evolve, the importance of French fine art paper in this field is likely to grow. Artists and collectors alike prize the paper's ability to preserve the integrity of artwork over time, ensuring that the spirit of today's street art movement endures. As more street artists enter the fine art sphere, the role of high-quality materials like French fine art paper in supporting and preserving their work becomes increasingly paramount.
