Custom Frame & Mat. Each print is signed plus numbered 1/1 by the Artist, with a thumbprint on the back and printed on hand-torn archival paper. Art history gets a Rubik's remix in the latest edition print release from Mr.Brainwash. The Intersection of Classical Imagery and Contemporary Street Pop Art in Mr. Brainwash’s Venus Unique #13 Thierry Guetta, artistically known as Mr. Brainwash, has been a transformative force in modern art, bridging the gap between street art's rebellious energy and pop art's iconic imagery. His work, Venus Unique #13, is a testament to this fusion, embodying the spontaneous creativity of Graffiti Street Artists Modern Pop Art. Released in 2021, this hand-pulled silkscreen print is part of an original series that infuses the classic depiction of Venus with a burst of contemporary life, underscored by the vibrant disruption of a Rubik's cube pattern. Venus Unique #13 is a symbolic piece within Mr. Brainwash's oeuvre. It is a 6-color silkscreen print, underscored by the Artist's hand-painted embellishments on hand-torn archival paper, which gives it an organic and tactile feel. The artwork is encased in a custom frame and mat, enhancing its visual appeal and preserving its condition. This particular print is marked 1/1, signaling its status as a unique work within the series. It is further authenticated by Mr. Brainwash's signature and thumbprint on the reverse, hallmarking its originality. Capturing Art Historical References with a Modern Twist Mr. Brainwash's penchant for juxtaposing classic art historical references with modern elements is evident in Venus Unique #13. The artwork reimagines the Roman goddess Venus, an enduring symbol of beauty and love, through the lens of modern-day iconography and urban artistry. By overlaying the serene and timeless figure of Venus with the chaotic, colorful patterns of a Rubik's cube, Mr. Brainwash creates a dialogue between the past and the present, between enduring ideals and contemporary challenges. The use of the Rubik's cube is remarkably evocative, as it is a pop culture icon and a metaphor for complexity and the human endeavor to solve puzzles. It suggests that the interpretation of beauty and art is itself a complex puzzle, a challenge that evolves with time and perspective. Mr. Brainwash cleverly employs the cube's colors and forms to fracture and reinterpret the classical imagery, giving it a new context and relevance in today's visual language of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork. The Signature Style and Cultural Commentary of Mr. Brainwash Mr. Brainwash's signature style is characterized by his bold use of color, eclectic iconography, and seamless blending of various artistic techniques. Venus Unique #13 is imbued with this signature approach, showcasing a harmonious blend of spray-painted graffiti with refined silkscreen printing. The piece is as much a celebration of the Artist's technical skill as it is of his conceptual ingenuity. By integrating elements like comic strips, street signs, and pop culture ephemera into the backdrop of Venus, Mr. Brainwash comments on the inundation of media and advertising in our daily lives. His artwork becomes a canvas where modern-day consumerism and the timeless quest for meaning and beauty intersect. Including such diverse and seemingly disparate elements is a nod to the complex visual landscapes we navigate, suggesting that art and beauty can be found in the most unexpected places. Collectability and Influence in Contemporary Art The collectability of Mr. Brainwash's work, particularly pieces like Venus Unique #13, is significant. As a unique, one-of-a-kind piece with the Artist's direct involvement, it holds aesthetic value and a high degree of collectible appeal. The artwork's size, 16x16 inches, makes it a versatile piece for collectors, suitable for various spaces and settings. These qualities make Mr. Brainwash's work highly sought after by enthusiasts of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork. Venus Unique #13 is more than just a visual statement; it reflects the current era where art history receives a contemporary remix. Mr. Brainwash's approach to art challenges viewers to see beyond the surface and appreciate each piece's layers of meaning and craftsmanship. In doing so, he has cemented his place within the modern art movement, inspiring both admiration and critical thought about the role and interpretation of art in contemporary society.

  • Funny Farm Archival Print by Above- Tavar Zawacki

Tavar Zawacki- Above Funny Farm Archival Print by Above- Tavar Zawacki

Funny Farm Archival Pigment Fine Art Limited Edition Print on 310gsm Fine Art Paper by Artist Above- Tavar Zawacki, Street Pop Art Graffiti Legend. 2016 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 100 Archival Pigment Print on 310gsm Fine Art Paper Artwork Size: 16x16 Inches Release: January 23, 2016. "I painted this arrow with rollers, latex paint, and spray paint onto an old barn. The barn was 30 feet wide x 30 feet tall at the pinnacle. The Funny Farm piece started with the help of my friend Denial, who invited me to participate in the Free 4 All Walls project in Canada last month. Denial had organized a massive barn for me to paint for the project. This was the largest arrow I've ever painted and the most coffee I drank over four days. Tim Horton's coffee should be illegal." - Above Embracing Rural Canvas: ABOVE's 'Funny Farm' Archival Pigment Fine Art Print Tavar Zawacki, the street pop art graffiti legend known as ABOVE, extended his artistic expression to rural landscapes with the 'Funny Farm' creation, culminating in a limited edition print that captures the essence of his most significant arrow piece. This limited edition archival pigment print on 310gsm fine art paper embodies ABOVE's innovative approach to street pop art, showcasing his distinct style on an unconventional canvas—an old barn. Released on January 23, 2016, the artist meticulously signed and numbered each edition piece, reflecting the authenticity and exclusivity that collectors and admirers of street art deeply value. The 'Funny Farm' artwork began as a monumental undertaking, with ABOVE utilizing rollers, latex paint, and spray paint to transform a 30x30 foot barn façade into an arresting visual statement. His choice of a rustic structure as the substrate for his iconic arrow illustrates his versatility as an artist and brings to light the dialog between urban street art and rural settings. This piece, part of the Free 4 All Walls project in Canada, is a testament to ABOVE's desire to push the boundaries of graffiti art beyond the city walls, engaging with a broader audience and environment. Technique and Inspiration Behind ABOVE's 'Funny Farm' The production of 'Funny Farm' was a labor-intensive process, demanding significant physical exertion and creative energy from ABOVE. Over four days, fortified by copious amounts of coffee, he poured his expertise into crafting an artwork as expansive in scale as it was in impact. His commentary on the addictive nature of Tim Horton's coffee injects a personal and humorous anecdote into the piece's narrative, connecting with his audience more intimately. This anecdote highlights the often-overlooked aspects of an artist's process—the external influences and the environment that can shape the creation of an artwork. ABOVE's meticulous technique and vibrant use of color in 'Funny Farm' reflect the hallmarks of his style, which is recognized worldwide. The barn, with its expansive sides, provided a grand canvas for ABOVE to articulate his vision, allowing the arrow to dominate the landscape, pointing skyward. The piece captured the attention of those who encountered it in person and managed to resonate through the limited edition prints that followed. The print serves as a visual narrative of ABOVE's journey, encapsulating the energy and spirit of the original mural. Cultural Significance of 'Funny Farm' in the Artistic Landscape The cultural significance of 'Funny Farm' within the artistic landscape is multifaceted. ABOVE's decision to create a print version of this rural mural allows for a wider dissemination of his work, bridging the gap between street art's fleeting nature and fine art's permanence. The limited-edition nature of the prints ensures that the essence of 'Funny Farm' is preserved and celebrated within the confines of private collections, galleries, and beyond. Furthermore, the artwork exemplifies ABOVE's commitment to street pop art and graffiti as accessible art that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries. By choosing a barn in a rural setting, ABOVE challenges the often-urban-centric focus of street art, proposing a universal language of creativity that can dialogue with any environment. 'Funny Farm' as a print is a continuation of that conversation, inviting a global audience to partake in the original mural's experience and reflect on the ubiquity of art in all facets of life. 'Funny Farm' is a vibrant representation of ABOVE's artistic prowess and innovative approach to street pop art and graffiti artwork. The print immortalizes a moment in ABOVE's career where his art scaled new heights, literally and metaphorically, and reminds us of the transformative power of art in any setting.

Prowess Artwork Giclee Limited Edition Print on 300gsm Fine Art Paper by Pop Culture Graffiti Artist Casey Weldon. "Each of the pieces was created using acrylic on a 16x16” piece of birch. Back in 2008, I did about 9 tiny headdress pieces, each featuring strange objects in an ornamental and ceremonial fashion. I liked the idea of using the craft of the headdress to display the objects and ideas we worship in modern society. After abandoning the idea for many years I came back to it last year with the intention of developing the original though in a more intricate, yet ambiguous fashion. Pun intended. These pieces were made in November of 2012 for the Prisma Collective’s group show “Second Sight” at Trifecta Gallery in Las Vegas." - Casey Weldon

Most of my work is developed in that way, a social-critique-like way, a joke about the life we live nowadays.I found the photograph in a LIFE magazine from the '70s, and I did an intervention over it with black ink and acrylic paint. For the serigraphy version, the image was scanned and retouched in order to make the print. In Mexico, the majority of crooks and cartel members are brought up by the predeceasing generations. Some of the Psychedelic designs I made were featured in Remix, and some of them I created specifically for this series. This particular 'Sunset Strip' design I made with more complexity for my solo exhibition Remix. The song's lyrics were inspiring and made me want to create something unique.I feel that music and art can be one. When I make music, it makes me want to create more paintings; when I paint, it makes me want to get back in the studio and make more music. I want to continue this Art/Music project for the rest of the year. "- ThankYouX ThankYouX's Artistic Symphony ThankYouX, renowned for his vivid and expressive pieces, has made a distinct mark on modern pop art with his limited edition archival pigment prints. His work "In Your Arms" is a captivating example, blending street art's energy with pop art's sensibility into a creation rich in emotion and color. Released in 2016 as a limited edition of 50, each piece is signed and numbered, making it a treasure for collectors and enthusiasts. "In Your Arms" measures 16x20 inches and is printed on 310gsm fine art paper, a testament to the artist's commitment to quality and longevity. ThankYouX's approach to this piece was inspired by a remix he produced for DJ Michael Woods. The synergy between the music's lyrics and ThankYouX's visual imagination gave birth to an image that captures the essence of letting go, represented by the figure of a girl surrendering to a whirlwind of color and sentiment. This work is an emblem of the artist's belief in the unity of music and visual art. ThankYouX emphasizes the cyclical inspiration he derives from both disciplines, where painting fuels his musical creativity, and music, in turn, urges him to pick up the brush again. The artist intends to sustain this Art/Music project, exploring the harmonious relationship between the auditory and visual realms. Emotional Resonance in Street Pop Art The emotional resonance of "In Your Arms" is palpable; the subject is caught in a moment of ecstatic release, with vibrant splashes of color that seem to emerge from the very soul of the figure. This piece embodies the core of street pop art & graffiti artwork, where the raw and refined converge, and emotion can be as vividly portrayed on paper as on the urban canvas's walls. ThankYouX's work, mainly "In Your Arms," reflects the dynamic street art scene, where storytelling is visceral and direct. The figure's posture, the explosion of hues, and the invisible yet tangible energy emanating from the print are characteristic of street art's expressive power. It is an art that speaks to the eyes and heart, encouraging viewers to feel first and analyze later. In the grand tapestry of street pop art & graffiti artwork, "In Your Arms" is a thread that weaves together the intimacy of personal experience with the universality of music and art. It invites introspection and evokes a sense of shared humanity, bridging the gap between artist and audience. ThankYouX's creation is a reminder of art's enduring capacity to encapsulate and communicate the profound moments of our existence. Collectors of ThankYouX's prints are invited to participate in this symphony of art and music to own a piece of a narrative that transcends the boundaries of traditional art forms. "In Your Arms" is not just a visual treat; it is a sensory journey that encapsulates the artist's vision of a world where art and music dance in unison, enriching the other and creating a legacy that will resonate for years.

Signed & Numbered Archival Pigment Print on 310gsm on Bright White Fine Art Paper Size: 16 x 24 Inches Release: August 28, 2015 Run of: 50 "This piece was created very late in 2013 and it has many layers. I first processed down panels to get the tiled effect I desired. Then I started to lay down layer of texture which eventually ended with the portrait seen. It was originally made for an event I did at the Saint Petersburg Museum of Art. The show paired 5 artists with 5 locally celebrated chefs to collaborate. The chef was to make a dish inspired by the work. The piece was also made in as part of an on going series of portrait works painted mostly in halftones. I like working with weather old wood for the unique texture it provides. With this piece I didn't want to use a single piece of wood but several to achieve a wood tile look much like the facade of an abandoned building. People should buy this piece because it hopefully speaks to them in a similar way it spoke to me when I made it. People should also buy the print because prints from 1xRUN are simply put, fucking awesome!" - Bask

PP Printer Proof 2016 Signed & Marked PP Limited Edition Archival Pigment Print on 310gsm Fine Art Paper Artwork Size: 16x16 Inches Release: January 23, 2016. Tim Horton's coffee should be illegal." - Above The Visionary Arrow of Tavar Zawacki-ABOVE: 'Funny Farm' Printers Proof Edition Tavar Zawacki, heralded as a street pop art and graffiti artwork legend, continues to captivate the art world with his 'Funny Farm' PP Printer's Proof Archival Pigment Fine Art Print. Released on January 23, 2016, this limited edition work, signed and marked as a Printer's Proof, manifests Zawacki's artistic identity, blending his street art prowess with fine art sensibility. Printed on 310gsm fine art paper, each 16x16 inch piece in the edition signifies a moment of evolution in ABOVE's career where the artist transcends the urban context and ventures into rural landscapes, expanding the canvas for street art. The 'Funny Farm' artwork originated as a colossal mural painted on a barn—a testament to Zawacki's willingness to challenge his creative boundaries. The process involved rollers, latex paint, and spray paint, a testament to ABOVE's skillful adaptation to various mediums and scales. Creating 'Funny Farm': Technique and Narrative The creation of 'Funny Farm' was a demonstration of ABOVE's artistic skill and a narrative of camaraderie and endurance. Fueled by copious amounts of Tim Horton's coffee, which Zawacki humorously suggests should be illegal due to its addictive quality, the artist embarked on a four-day painting marathon. This detail adds a layer of personal narrative to the piece, allowing audiences to glimpse the physical and mental fortitude required to produce such monumental street art. The Printer's Proof edition of 'Funny Farm' holds a special place in the echelons of collectible art. These proofs, typically reserved for the artist and the printer, indicate the work's quality and serve as the touchstone for the entire print run. Zawacki's decision to release a PP edition underscores his respect for the art of printmaking and his desire to share a piece of this significant project with a broader audience. The PP marking symbolizes rarity and prestige, elevating the artwork's status among collectors and enthusiasts of street art. 'Funny Farm': Embracing Artistic Diversity and Cultural Dialogue 'Funny Farm' as a Printer's Proof edition is emblematic of ABOVE's approach to street pop art, which is characterized by bold visuals, immersive experiences, and a dialogue between the artist and the environment. This print represents a cultural dialogue, where a rural barn becomes the canvas for urban artistry, bridging disparate worlds through the universal language of art. It reflects the graffiti legend's versatility and commitment to exploring how street art can exist and thrive beyond the urban backdrop. The cultural significance of 'Funny Farm' lies in its ability to reach beyond the immediacy of street art's traditional settings. By transforming a rural structure into a vibrant canvas, ABOVE extends the reach of street art, inviting a new demographic to engage with the movement. The limited edition print captures this expansive mural's essence, allowing it to resonate within pop art and street culture, ensuring its legacy endures. In summary, 'Funny Farm' is a vibrant testament to Tavar Zawacki-ABOVE's artistic journey, marking a point where his iconic arrow pointed beyond cityscapes and into the pastoral. Red Color Graffiti Street Pop Artwork

Red: A Bold Statement in Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork

Red in the Spectrum of Street Art Expression

Red, often seen as the most assertive and dynamic of all colors, casts its passionate hue across the expansive canvas of street pop art and graffiti artwork. With its bold nature, red is not just a color—it's a declaration, a visual exclamation that demands attention and conveys intensity. Its application in the urban art scene is diverse, from the deepest burgundies to the brightest scarlets, each shade imbued with its unique energy and symbolism.

Techniques and Textures: Red's Artistic Flexibility

Artistically, red's versatility is found in its ability to stand alone and its power to accentuate when paired with other colors. The techniques employed by street artists to apply red vary greatly, from aerosol sprays that offer a misty overlay to bold brush strokes that provide texture and depth. Red in street pop art is not merely a visual tool; it's a tactile experience. The texture of red paint can range from glossy finishes that reflect the city's lights to matte surfaces that absorb and soften the intensity of the hue, each technique chosen to convey a specific message or feeling.

Cultural Resonance of Red in Urban Imagery

Culturally, red has a potent resonance, often associated with powerful emotions and ideas such as love, anger, danger, and strength. Street pop art and graffiti leverage these associations to deliver impactful artwork that can resonate universally. The color red is frequently utilized to draw the viewer's focus to critical elements of a piece, highlighting areas the artist deems most significant or using the color's signal-like quality to convey cautionary messages and urgent statements.

Compositional Strategies with Red in Art

Regarding composition, red's role in street pop and graffiti artwork is multifaceted. It can starkly contrast cooler hues, creating a visual disruption that can energize or unsettle the viewer. Conversely, when red is set against warmer tones, it can evoke feelings of warmth and comfort. The strategic placement of red within a piece can alter the viewer's perception of space, with deeper reds receding in the visual field and brighter reds advancing, a technique artists use to create movement and depth.

Symbolic Use of Red in Street Pop Art and Graffiti

Symbolically, red is laden with meaning in the context of street pop art and graffiti. It's a color that signifies everything from political affiliations to personal identity. In the urban landscape, where art serves as a voice for the voiceless, red is often the color of choice for expressing defiance and resilience. Its application is deliberate, with artists selecting the shade of red that best communicates the spirit of their message.

Evolution of Red in Urban Artistic Practice

As we consider the evolution of color used in street art, red's significance only seems to amplify. Its historical use in political and protest art continues to influence contemporary artists, who see red as a means of connecting with a rich legacy of visual activism. With advances in paint technology and application methods, the vibrancy and longevity of red in street art have increased, allowing it to maintain its potency and message over time, even in the face of environmental challenges. Red's place in street pop art and graffiti is undeniable. It is a color that can elevate a piece from mere visual noise to a poignant statement. Its shades can signify many themes and messages, from the urgency of revolution to the pulse of love that beats through city streets. As an element of the urban visual lexicon, red is as essential as the very walls it adorns, a color that will continue to be used to captivate, communicate, and challenge viewers around the world.
