Nature Original Painting Pasca on Watercolor Paper by Jon Burgerman Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. 2014 Original Drawing on Paper by Artist Jon Burgerman Artwork Size 9x12 "Jon Burgerman makes vibrant, neo-primitive scrawls of shapes and color. He's pushed his monster-like characters into compositions where cartoon-like forms are crammed on top of each until they create a screaming mass of energy. Intensely prolific, he has pushed the character obsession of the late 90s into a far more interesting and strong direction. J Demsky Untitled Simulator Interface III Blotter Paper Archival Print by J Demsky

Untitled Simulator Interface III Blotter Paper Limited Edition Archival Pigment Print Art on Perforated Blotter Paper by J Demsky pop culture LSD artwork. "My first experience with the Lsd was if I remember correctly about 95-96. It was a small dose, probably a quarter of a "Lucas Duck" that were quite soft, the second was the same dose with a “Bicycle" and the experience was also smooth.Until one day the "Simpson double drop" appeared and it was different. We took half to be sure of the trip and we did not notice anything after almost an hour (at that time people also sold them fake) so we decided to take the other half, imagine what happened. We lost control and my friend ran away, I supposed to go his house and I did the same. But I remember it took me a while to open all three doors since the key was bent as if it were a magic trick. The first thing I did was turn on the TV and there was the movie "The Shining", I was only able to see some scenes but I remember the second time I watch it I thought they had deleted some scenes, you can imagine...Until dawn it was very intense. I think this was the last use I did LSD in a very long time. Now I can say that I have never dedicated myself to selling drugs, but I was very good at faking things and spent a while making "replicas" of sheets of some that were very soft (like “Marilyn Monroe’s" or "Strawberries”) I even used my own designs of things that he painted at that time.In these strange days I feel with a smile remembering those experiences and adding a double drop to these new sheets. :)" - J Demsky

The warmth of the colors used in the floral pattern contrasts with the cool tones of the background, creating a visual pop that's characteristic of pop art’s attention-grabbing style. This piece sits at the intersection of pop art, street art, and graffiti art, carrying forward the rebellious spirit and the bold aesthetics of these movements. Yet, it remains distinct in its embodiment of the artisanal letterpress technique, demonstrating how traditional methods can converse with contemporary art forms. PP Printers Proof 2012 Signed & Marked PP Limited Edition Artwork Size 26x16 Archival Pigment Fine Art The Artistic Fusion in "Speaking Quantum" by Peeta "Speaking Quantum" is a compelling example of how the abstract concepts of quantum physics can be rendered through the vivid language of street pop art and graffiti artwork. This Printer's Proof (PP) archival print by the artist Peeta showcases an exquisite interplay between form, color, and the illusion of dimensionality, resonating deeply with the ethos of modern artwork. As a limited edition print on 290gsm Moab Entrada fine art paper, it is not just a piece of art but a slice of contemporary pop culture that has been frozen in time. Created in 2012, Peeta signed and marked this artwork as a Printer's Proof, signifying its status as a rare and often more valued edition than the numbered series. The PP mark indicates that the piece was part of a small batch used to verify quality before the main run, often held back by the artist or publisher for their archives or special distributions. The size of the artwork, 26x16 inches, is substantial enough to impact the viewer, drawing them into the piece's complex layers and sweeping curves. Peeta's work is renowned for its three-dimensional effects, creating a sense of depth and movement that challenges the viewer's perception. "Speaking Quantum" is remarkably evocative, with its forms twisting and folding into each other, creating an almost tactile experience. The use of archival pigment ensures that the nuances of color and the precision of the lines are preserved, protecting the vibrancy of the artwork for years to come. Peeta's Vision in the Context of Street Pop and Graffiti Art In the context of street pop art and graffiti artwork, "Speaking Quantum" stands out for its innovative approach to the graffiti art form. The piece does not just represent the artist's vision but embodies the fluid nature of street pop art—constantly evolving, pushing boundaries, and exploring new territories. Peeta's choice to capture the essence of quantum physics—often associated with the subatomic and the uncertain—through graffiti art is a testament to the versatility and depth of the street art form. The artwork serves as a dialogue between the known and the unknown, the seen and the unseen, much like quantum physics. "Speaking Quantum" invites viewers to interpret the converging and diverging elements to find meaning in the abstract forms. The fluidity and movement in the piece suggest a moment of transformation, a visual representation of energy in flux. It's a modern artifact that enriches the visual landscape and sparks curiosity and introspection, inviting a deeper engagement with the world of quantum mechanics and the art it inspires. In preserving "Speaking Quantum" as a limited edition print, Peeta allows art enthusiasts and collectors to engage with street pop art in a new dimension. It's an invitation to explore the intersections of art, science, and philosophy through the lens of graffiti artwork, marking a distinctive point in the journey of street art from the alleys and subways into the galleries and private collections. The existence of this piece as a PP print elevates its status, ensuring that it remains an exclusive and sought-after piece within the realms of pop and graffiti art culture.

This choice might be viewed as a comment on the ending or culmination of a series, theme, or concept. The letter Z stands proudly in the composition, represented in a striking shade of blue. The choice of color adds a sense of calm and depth to the artwork, juxtaposing the traditionally rebellious connotations of graffiti art with a soothing tone. This bold blue hue, combined with the intricate layers of spray paint, results in a dynamic visual display that is quintessentially Seen UA. Signed and dated 2023, the artwork measures 22x28 inches. Its compact size allows for an intimate viewing experience, fostering a personal connection between the viewer and the artwork. By transitioning his graffiti art from the vast, expansive walls of city streets to the confined borders of a canvas, Seen UA challenges the boundaries between high art and street culture. This shift reflects a broader movement in contemporary art where street art has been increasingly accepted and celebrated within fine art. The A-Z Lettering 9185 is not merely a showcase of Seen UA's exceptional skill and creativity in spray paint. It is a testament to the artist's continuous exploration of lettering styles, colors, and textures, as well as the evolution of graffiti from a form of rebellious expression to a respected form of contemporary art. As a unique and original piece, it encapsulates Seen UA's innovative spirit and commitment to pushing the boundaries of street art, pop art, and everything in between.

J Demsky Untitled Simulator Interface I Blotter Paper Archival Print by J Demsky

Untitled Simulator Interface I Blotter Paper Limited Edition Archival Pigment Print Art on Perforated Blotter Paper by J Demsky pop culture LSD artwork.

Through "Beautiful Almost Aimless Ever Active Half Discerning Anxious & Eager Merry Go Round Painting," Hirst continues to delve into the themes of life, death, and the human condition. I was living and working above the TSL store, trying my best to make enough work to fill the space which was a pretty daunting task. The pieces themselves are a combination of head portraits painted in what I would say are my signature style and then also a series of smaller abstract works that signify the idea of migration through the Pacific, both in a historic and recent sense. The model for the portraits was my friend Sereima aka Stelly, who’s Sydney-based and of Fijian descent. To me, she really represents the changing face of the Pacific in many ways. Following on from a really successful show in Sydney, ‘The Evolving Face’ I wanted to move away from the mugshot poses of the previous body and bring more attitude and exuberance and Sereima was perfect because she is the absolute embodiment of those things." - Askew One Diaspora Rua Original Enamel Acrylic Painting by Askew One is a work of art created by the artist Elliot O'Donnell, also known as Askew One. Hueman The Waiting Game Archival Print by Hueman

The Waiting Game Limited Edition Archival Pigment Prints on 310gsm Museum Natural Fine Art Paper by Hueman Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. "All of the pieces in this show were created organically, first by painting a spontaneous, freehand abstract background, then finding faces in the paint, carving them out, and building around them with shapes and lines. This one was no exception. Everything I create moves along an improvised stream of consciousness. The title describes the mood I was in when I painted it and is also the title of a song that I had playing while in my studio. The composition is what makes it unique from the rest of my work. The figure is lying down and looking up, and there is a hand, something that I don’t usually paint that often. The abstract clouds and negative space dominate, and the figure doesn’t stand out but instead melts into this strange cloudy shape." - Hueman

But I like to change it up and show all my different styles. So, with this show, I can show my style evolution and how I've progressed. "Versatile" shows where I came from and what I'm doing now," Cope2 said from his studio in New York. -Cope2 The Evolution of Cope2 in Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork Within the pantheon of street pop art and graffiti artwork, Cope2 stands as a figure of significant importance, a name synonymous with the gritty roots and dynamic evolution of the genre. The "Detroit Series 25 Original Painting" is a testament to the artist's journey through the ever-changing landscape of urban art. This 2010 signed and titled original piece, measuring 24x16 inches, fuses spray paint, acrylic paint, and mixed media on a cradled wood panel, embodying the essence of what Cope2 has termed as 'hardcore graffiti.' Yet, it does more than that. It showcases a readiness to hang graffiti artwork that pulsates with the energy of bubble letters, a signature style that has made Cope2 a celebrated figure in modern pop art. This piece is not simply a static work of art; it narrates the story of Cope2's artistic evolution. Having spent over three decades dedicated to the craft of graffiti, Cope2 has earned recognition not just for his adherence to the raw foundations of graffiti but also for his adaptability and his embrace of mixed media approaches. Reflecting Social Narratives through Graffiti Artwork Cope2's "Detroit Series 25" is more than an aesthetic endeavor; it is a social statement, capturing the zeitgeist of its era. His art does not exist in a vacuum but as a vibrant commentary on the environment from which it springs. The artwork tells the story of transition, not just for the artist but for the medium of graffiti itself. Once relegated to the fringes of the art world, considered an act of vandalism, graffiti has been recontextualized through works like those of Cope2. These pieces reflect the changing narratives around street art, elevating it to a form of street pop art that mirrors society's evolving attitudes towards public space, ownership, and artistic liberty. The legacy of Cope2's "Detroit Series 25" lies in its ability to capture the imagination of a diverse audience, bringing the raw, unfiltered voice of the streets into the sanctified spaces of art galleries. • The Empresses- H10-2 Nūr Jahān Aluminum Giclee by Damien Hirst The Empresses- H10-2 Nūr Jahān Aluminum Giclee by Damien Hirst

Damien Hirst The Empresses- H10-2 Nūr Jahān Aluminum Giclee by Damien Hirst

The Empresses- H10-2 Nūr Jahān Pop Street Artwork Limited Edition Giclee & Giltter Screenprint Print on Aluminum Sheet by Urban Graffiti Modern Artist Damien Hirst. 2022 Signed & Numbered In Verso on Label Limited Edition of 3041 Artwork Size 39.37x39.37 Giclee & Giltter Screenprint Print on Aluminum Sheet Decoding the Vivacity of 'The Empresses - H10-2 Nūr Jahān' Drawing inspiration from the multifaceted Mughal empress, Nūr Jahān (1577-1645), the artwork embodies her diverse talents and influence. Though she became Emperor Jahāngīr's 20th wife in 1611, she was never officially an empress. Despite this, Nūr Jahān demonstrated her power by minting coins and issuing royal decrees. Adept in diplomacy, hunting, and advising, she was also a gifted architect. Her design contributions to her parents' tomb in Agra are thought to have inspired the iconic Taj Mahal. The "Nūr Jahān" piece showcases intricately symmetrical patterns of single and paired wings in vivid shades of red and black. These wings radiate from the center, extending vertically, horizontally, and diagonally to form mesmerizing kaleidoscopic designs. The central square highlights the principal pair of wings, while the surrounding patterns seem to recede, drawing the viewer's attention to the center. This meticulous, layered composition echoes Nūr Jahān's architectural prowess, and the magnificent mosaic tiles grace the Agra tomb. As one contemplates "Nūr Jahān," the artwork transforms continuously, unveiling new sequences of extraordinary wing patterns as the viewer's perspective shifts. This is especially evident with the large black and red wing pairs that encircle the composition's outer edges, arranged in an irregular frame. Through this technique, the artist instills a sense of dynamism and life in the otherwise orderly composition, capturing the essence of the butterflies in various stages of flight, much like the diverse nature of the empress herself. In street pop art, Damien Hirst's 'The Empresses - H10-2 Nūr Jahān' stands as a riveting homage to the influential and unofficial empress of the Mughal empire. This giclee and glitter screenprint on aluminum captures the essence of Nūr Jahān's multifaceted life, depicting the vibrancy and depth of her character through a symphony of red and black butterfly wings. Born as the urban graffiti modern artist Damien Hirst, the British artist's creation is a limited edition piece, signed and numbered as a testament to its exclusivity and importance in contemporary art. The Artistic Symphony of Wings and Influence The artwork's composition, featuring meticulously arranged butterfly wings, is a testament to Nūr Jahān's architectural acumen and her role in shaping Mughal aesthetics. The central square structure, highlighted by the principal pair of wings, draws the viewer's gaze inward, like the entrance to an intricately designed Mughal structure. The wings, extending in all directions, create an effect of perpetual motion, symbolizing Nūr Jahān's dynamic presence in a male-dominated court. The choice of colors, red and black, is striking and purposeful, evoking the power and determination that Nūr Jahān wielded as she navigated the intricacies of Mughal politics and culture. The layered patterns that recede from the center mimic the complexity and depth of Nūr Jahān's influence on Mughal architecture, such as the exquisite tile work of her parents' tomb in Agra. It is a visual narrative that mirrors the empress's life – a constant oscillation between the foreground and the background, between being seen and unseen, much like the varying visibility of the butterfly wings, depending on the viewer's standpoint. A Dynamic Reflection of a Multifaceted Empress Damien Hirst's 'The Empresses - H10-2 Nūr Jahān' is an artistic endeavor and an immersive experience. The artwork unfolds new patterns as the viewer moves, reflecting the ever-changing nature of existence and perception. This transformative aspect of the piece resonates with the transformative era of Nūr Jahān's influence, where she redefined the role of women in leadership and left an indelible mark on her time's cultural and architectural landscape. The outer edges of the composition, with the large wing pairs arranged in an irregular frame, impart a sense of vitality and movement, much like the empress known for her hunting prowess and diplomatic skills. This technique employed by Hirst infuses life into the structured composition, creating a sense of multidirectional flight and reflecting the empress's omnipresence in the various facets of Mughal governance and culture. Through this limited edition street pop art and graffiti artwork, Damien Hirst encapsulates the spirit of Nūr Jahān, presenting her not merely as a historical figure but as an emblem of power, creativity, and resilience. The piece stands as a modern tribute to her life, inspiring contemporary viewers to explore and appreciate the rich tapestry of history through the lens of street pop art.

Abstract Abstraction Graffiti Street Pop Artwork

Abstract Abstraction in Street Pop Art & Graffiti Artwork

Abstract abstraction, a concept often perceived as redundant, is a significant and vibrant facet of street pop art and graffiti artwork. This artistic approach transcends the conventional boundaries of abstract art by pushing the limits of form, color, and composition to create pieces that defy easy categorization or interpretation. In street pop art and graffiti, abstract abstraction becomes a tool for artists to communicate complex ideas and emotions, often rooted in social, political, or personal contexts. Abstract street graffiti art is a form of urban art typically featuring bold and expressive designs, shapes, and colors intended to convey emotion, movement, and energy. Unlike traditional graffiti, which often consists of simple tags or stylized lettering, abstract street graffiti art is typically characterized by its emphasis on abstract shapes and patterns and its use of color and texture to create a dynamic and visually engaging composition. One of the defining features of abstract street graffiti art is its ability to transform an otherwise mundane urban landscape into a vibrant and exciting space. By using the walls, buildings, and other city surfaces as their canvas, graffiti artists can create large-scale works of art that can be viewed and appreciated by anyone who passes by.
In some cases, these works of art can even become landmarks or cultural touchstones within the communities where they are located. Another important aspect of abstract street graffiti art is its ability to convey powerful messages or ideas through visual imagery. Whether it's a statement about social justice, a celebration of diversity and inclusivity, or simply an expression of personal creativity and self-expression, abstract street graffiti art has the power to communicate complex ideas and emotions in a way that is accessible and engaging to a wide range of audiences. Despite its many virtues, abstract street graffiti art is still often viewed with suspicion or even outright hostility by some members of the general public.
In many cases, this is due to a perceived association with vandalism and criminal activity or simply a lack of understanding or appreciation for the cultural and artistic value of this unique and dynamic urban art form. Despite these challenges, abstract street graffiti art continues to thrive and evolve as artists worldwide push the boundaries of what is possible with this exciting and dynamic medium. Whether you see it as a bold act of rebellion or a powerful form of artistic expression, there is no denying the impact that abstract street graffiti art has had on our cities and our culture, and its influence is sure to be felt for many years.

Evolution and Characteristics in Street Art

A gradual shift from the traditional graffiti styles of the 1970s and 1980s marks the evolution of abstract abstraction in street pop art and graffiti artwork. Early graffiti, predominantly in New York and other urban centers, focused on lettering and figurative elements. However, as the art form matured and spread globally, artists began experimenting with abstract forms, color palettes, and spatial arrangements. Pioneers in this movement, like Futura (real name: Leonard Hilton McGurr, United States), transcended conventional graffiti styles, employing spray cans to create sprawling, abstract compositions that were groundbreaking at the time. These artists challenged the norms of both street art and the broader art world. They rejected the idea that graffiti must be about words or recognizable images, instead emphasizing emotional expression and individual creativity. The result was a dynamic and unpredictable form of art that could adapt to any surface or environment and spoke to a diverse, urban audience.

Notable Contributions and Artists

In discussing abstract abstraction in street art and graffiti, it's essential to highlight key figures who have shaped its trajectory. One such artist is Jean-Michel Basquiat (real name: Jean-Michel Basquiat, United States, 1960–1988). Although primarily known for his work in the neo-expressionist movement, Basquiat ventured into abstract graffiti under SAMO. His work in the streets of New York blended text and imagery in a way that blurred the lines between figurative and abstract art, setting a precedent for future generations of graffiti artists. Artists like Banksy (real name unknown, United Kingdom) have also contributed significantly to the field in Europe. While Banksy's work is more symbolic and political, the abstract elements in his compositions – the play with shadows and the distortion of forms – align with the principles of abstract abstraction. Banksy's art, often riddled with irony and dark humor, utilizes abstraction as an aesthetic choice and a means of commenting on societal issues.

Impact and Future Directions

The impact of abstract abstraction in street pop art and graffiti artwork extends beyond the art world. It has influenced graphic design, fashion, and advertising, demonstrating its vast reach and versatility. This art style challenges viewers to engage with the work more intuitively and emotionally, often leaving interpretation open to the individual's experience and perspective. As for the future, the trajectory of abstract abstraction in street art and graffiti seems poised for continual evolution. With digital technology and new mediums, artists have more tools to explore and express their visions. The rise of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) offers new platforms for street artists to experiment with space and form in previously unimaginable ways.
Moreover, the growing acceptance of street art and graffiti in the mainstream world suggests that abstract abstraction will continue gaining prominence and respect. Museums and galleries increasingly showcase street art, acknowledging its cultural significance and artistic merit. This recognition paves the way for new artists to explore abstract abstraction, pushing the boundaries of street art and how it can communicate with a global audience. Abstract abstraction in street pop art and graffiti artwork represents a dynamic and evolving field that defies easy categorization and continues to challenge and inspire artists and audiences alike. Its significance lies in its aesthetic appeal and its ability to communicate complex ideas and emotions, making it a vital component of contemporary art.
