  • Astro Crash Grayscale Astroboy Art Toy by Josh Divine

Josh Divine Astro Crash Grayscale Astroboy Art Toy by Josh Divine

Astro Crash- Grayscale Limited Edition Vinyl Art Toy Collectible Artwork by street graffiti artist Josh Divine. 2021 New In Box Limited Edition Vinyl Designer Astro Boy Art Toy Artwork Size 4x9. Standing 9" tall, Japan's greatest superhero, Astro Boy, examines the reality of technology and the possibility of life after a motherboard crash. The "Astro Crash- Grayscale Limited Edition" is a vinyl art toy testament to the creative expression bridging street art and designer toy culture. Crafted by the acclaimed street graffiti artist Josh Divine, this collectible merges the nostalgia of Astro Boy, Japan's celebrated superhero, with a modern commentary on technology and its potential failings. Released in 2021, this new-in-box art piece captures the imagination of pop art enthusiasts and collectors alike. This artwork, sized at 9 inches tall, portrays Astro Boy in a moment of unexpected vulnerability—upside down, signaling a system failure, a 'motherboard crash.' This poignant stance invites reflection on the fragility of life and the impermanence of technology, themes that resonate deeply in the digital age. Josh Divine's choice to render the figure in grayscale amplifies the dramatic impact, stripping the character of its traditional vibrant colors to highlight the gravity of the crash. The design of the "Astro Crash" toy stands at the intersection of street pop art and graffiti artwork, where the rebellious spirit of street art meets the commercial savvy of pop art. The vinyl medium symbolizes the democratization of art, allowing for mass production while retaining a sense of individuality through the limited edition release. Divine's work speaks to the heart of street pop art, with its roots planted in the counterculture while branching out to engage with a broader audience. The Astro Crash toy is not merely a collector's item; it is a piece of commentary art that challenges viewers to contemplate the intersections of humanity, technology, and art. Through this work, Divine contributes to the ongoing dialogue about the role of technology in society, encapsulated in a form that is as accessible as it is profound.

Bask Iron Man 3 Box Office Archival Print by Bask

Iron Man 3- Box Office Limited Edition Archival Pigment Print on 330gsm Fine Art Paper by Bask street artist modern pop art. "Last June, a friend called me saying that Robert Downey Jr. and the production team wanted to use one of my paintings, When It Rains It Pours, in the next Iron Man film. So I created it to their size specification of 5ft wide and 13ft tall and the piece was put into Iron Man Tony Starks' home in the film. Then they asked me if I’d be interested in doing more work for the Mandarin’s lair a few months later when they were shooting in Miami. I of course said yes, and ended up doing 13 more massive paintings and some set design for them along with the Iron Man mask you see here. They asked me to create a design for the wrap of the film last year. They made shirts and postcards for the set department with that image. So while this doesn't appear in the film it was definitely a big part of the project." - BASK

Meggs Avenge Me Archival Print by Meggs

Avenge Me Limited Edition Archival Pigment Prints on 310gsm Museum Fine Art Paper by Meggs Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. "This piece was part of my 2014 solo show ‘Spoiled Rotten.’ It’s part of a series of hand-painted heroes over sourced old-school style target posters, which are then torn and collaged with a combination of found billposters and hand screen printed retro comic collages. All made during my month-long residency with Inner State Gallery in Detroit. The split between traditional ‘bad guy criminal’ & Captain America reflects the classic comic narrative of Hero vs Villain, however, the distressed style & execution of the piece references the fragile nature of moral ideals and social justice in contemporary American society." - Meggs

Custom Framed 2015 Signed Limited HPM Edition of 40 Artwork Size 28x22 "I originally painted a version of this in Wynwood at Art Basel this year (2015). Like a lot of working artists I put the entire trip on my credit card and had to deal with it after I got the "bill." It's basically a statement on living day to day and trying to figure it all out. Like how to make art and travel and live with some balance to it all.I have an affinity, as many people do to superheroes. I really think they are a beautiful sentiment to a very messed up world/existence." - Denial Denial is a Canadian artist who experiments with aerosol and stencil art, while his main fields of interest are consumerism, politics and the human condition in today’s society. Since the culture of graffiti was gaining more and more popularity in the US and Europe, the taggers had to be increasingly original in order to stand out. The signatures became bigger, more stylized and more colorful.

  • Solitary Child 3 Archival Print by Hikari Shimoda

Hikari Shimoda Solitary Child 3 Archival Print by Hikari Shimoda

Solitary Child 3 Limited Edition Archival Pigment Prints on 310gsm Fine Art Paper by Hikari Shimoda Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. "Solitary Child is a series of works, focused on my original theme of the inevitability of the Apocalypse. In this series, I am offering a new savior for humankind- she is a magical girl (Solitary Child #1) and a little boy hero (Solitary Child #3). In the world of my paintings, humanity has perished, as seen in the collage background, where there is an expressed chaos throughout. In these images, my saviors have come upon the dying human race. After the death of man, the world has found some relief from the turmoil that he has brought upon it. Meanwhile, mankind selfishly dreams of newfound happiness in his afterlife. In the mythology of my work, as humanity is destroyed, only one figure remains and that is the Messiah represented as a child. The magical girl was the first to be left alone after humanity was destroyed, left to deal with the despair and damage he left behind. Her eyes are shining and sparkling, but her stare is blank. In contrast, my hero’s eyes are closed ever so gently. To him, everything in the world is very chaotic and overwhelming. He feels all of its happiness, despair, hope, sadness, everything… in such a state, even the world’s savior must shut his eyes to it." - Hikari Shimoda

  • Know Your Product Blotter Paper Archival Print by Ben Frost

Ben Frost Know Your Product Blotter Paper Archival Print by Ben Frost

Know Your Product Blotter Paper Limited Edition Archival Pigment Print Art on Perforated Blotter Paper by Ben Frost pop culture LSD artwork. Australian contemporary artist Ben Frost is best known for his bold, irreverent Pop Art. His instantly recognizable take on pop culture twists up everyday iconography from the world’s biggest brands. Subverting meaning and messages from the mainstream media, Frost’s scything commentary on advertising, entertainment, and politics is both confronting and controversial. The essence of Frost’s commentary is established on the basis of subverting the meaning and the messages, promoted by the mainstream media. In other words and, as he has stated in the past: “The less you fill your mind with the trappings of advertising and bad television, the more space you have in your brain for things of value”. At the same time, his take on modern pop culture is equally compelling. Mainstream media, advertisements, and politics can be identified as some of his main fields of interest, which he utilizes and mixes up in a controversial formation. The word controversial is not used incidentally. What Ben Frost’s art is doing is, essentially, the appropriation and weaponization of imagery against the same system that gave birth to it.

Aled Lewis's Artistic Approach A marks Lewis’s approach to art. A distinct infusion of humor and cultural references marks Lewis's approach to art. The "High Three" is a playful take on the traditional high-five, celebrating victory, camaraderie, and the quirks of turtle anatomy. The print's composition, with its bright, contrasting colors and blocky visual aesthetic, is instantly recognizable and accessible, making it a beloved piece for art collectors and pop culture enthusiasts. The artwork serves as a cultural commentary, reflecting on the zeitgeist of the '80s and '90s while resonating with contemporary audiences. The use of the TMNT in the art piece is a strategic choice that leverages the viewer's sense of nostalgia while engaging with the aesthetics of video game art that has permeated the street art scene. The giclée printing technique used by Lewis for "High Three" is notable for its high fidelity and color accuracy, which preserve the vibrancy and detail of the original digital design. Printed on fine art paper, the work bridges the gap between digital art and traditional printmaking, offering a tactile experience that compliments the visual playfulness of the piece. Impact of "High Three" on Street Art "High Three" is significant not just as a piece of art but as a reflection of digital culture's impact on Street Pop Art and graffiti Artwork. It represents a shift in the medium and subject matter, where the lines between street art, pop art, and digital art become blurred, allowing for a broader interpretation and appreciation of contemporary art. Aled Lewis's "High Three" is a testament to the evolving narrative of street art and its interaction with pop culture. With its limited availability and distinctive style, the piece is a highly sought-after item among collectors. It is a perfect example of how traditional street art can adapt and thrive in the digital age. It celebrates the convergence of art forms and the enduring appeal of pop culture icons.

Superhero Graffiti Street Pop Artwork

Superheroes have long been a popular subject in graffiti art and pop art. Both styles of art have been used to portray these iconic characters in new and exciting ways. In graffiti art, superheroes are often depicted in larger-than-life sizes, with bold lines and vibrant colors. Graffiti artists use their unique style to add a sense of energy and movement to the characters, making them seem even more powerful and heroic. Superheroes can be found in graffiti murals in cities all around the world, often serving as a symbol of hope and inspiration to those who view them. Pop art, on the other hand, takes a more playful approach to superhero imagery. Artists often use bright colors and bold graphic elements to create a sense of fun and whimsy. Superheroes are sometimes portrayed in unexpected settings or situations, such as Superman flying through a fast-food restaurant or Batman enjoying a cup of coffee. Pop art also tends to incorporate elements of commercial advertising, which can add an ironic twist to the superhero imagery. In both graffiti art and pop art, superheroes are often used as a way to explore themes of power, justice, and identity. By using these iconic characters, artists are able to tap into a universal sense of nostalgia and wonder, creating art that resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Whether painted on a city wall or printed on a canvas, superhero art has become a beloved part of contemporary culture, inspiring both artists and fans alike. DC superheroes have been a popular subject in both graffiti art and pop art. Some of the most iconic DC superheroes that have been portrayed in these styles include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Joker.
