  • Queen In Blood Diamonds Negative Silkscreen Print by Jamie Reid

Jamie Reid Queen In Blood Diamonds Negative Silkscreen Print by Jamie Reid

Queen In Blood Diamonds Negative Silkscreen Print by Jamie Reid Hand-Pulled on Wove Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Artwork. 2020 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 250 Artwork Size 17x24.5 Silkscreen Print of Elizabeth II Queen of England In Demonic Style With Words "God Save Great Britain" Art Car Boot Fair Edition "Queen In Blood Diamonds Negative" is a striking silkscreen print by the renowned artist Jamie Reid, a limited edition piece produced with meticulous hand-pulled technique on fine wove art paper. Dated 2020, this exclusive artwork, available in only 250 signed and numbered editions, measures 17x24.5 inches, marking its significance in the realm of contemporary art. Delving into the details, the artwork portrays Elizabeth II, the Queen of England, in a provocative and almost demonic style. This avant-garde representation draws heavily from Reid's previous creations, especially his emblematic work for the Sex Pistols - "God Save The Queen." Notably, in "Queen In Blood Diamonds Negative," the Queen is adorned with the same blood diamond crown that she was pictured wearing for her 1977 Jubilee. This crown, beyond its historical significance, provides a visual linkage between Reid's iconic past work and this contemporary piece. The origins of this piece are rooted in Reid's collaboration for the Scorzayzee record titled 'Great Britain'. The artwork's integration of the phrase "God Save Great Britain" further reinforces its socio-political commentary, a hallmark of Reid's style. The work's debut at the Art Car Boot Fair speaks volumes about its place in modern pop and street art. Its edgy appearance, combined with Reid's historic association with punk aesthetics, ensures that "Queen In Blood Diamonds Negative" stands out as an emblematic representation of the ongoing dialogue between monarchy, pop culture, and societal critique in the realms of street and graffiti art.

  • Revolution in our Time Silkscreen Print by Edward Nachtrieb x Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Revolution in our Time Silkscreen Print by Edward Nachtrieb x Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Revolution in our Time Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY Hand-Pulled 5-Color on Cream Speckletone Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Artwork Obey Pop Culture Artist. 2020 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 500 Artwork Size 18x24 Silkscreen Print "Oct 1 is the 70th anniversary of Communist Party rule in China and the Chinese government is planning an extravaganza of choreographed contentment in the mainland while the people of Hong Kong will hit the streets in an effort to secure their rights. I’ve long believed that protests in the streets are an essential tool for meaningful change because the passion, courage, and visceral force of the participants in a mass protest send a powerful message that they are fully committed to their cause! Ed Nachtrieb photographed many incredible moments of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests. I’m honored to collaborate with Ed on a set of two images based on his documentation 30 years ago, especially because pro-democracy and human-rights protesters are in the streets of Hong Kong right now! This image “Long Live The People” will be released as a print soon… more details to come. Check out Ed Nachtrieb’s thoughts on the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests." -Shepard Fairey- OBEY "After the People’s Liberation Army was sent in to suppress what is now called the “pro-democracy movement” on June 4, 1989, there was a liberalization of economic rules and policies. China then experienced a remarkable economic transformation. The idea: if people could get rich, they wouldn’t care so much about their freedoms. I think that’s a miscalculation. In Hong Kong today, ideas championed in 1989 have reappeared in a “Revolution of Our Time” in spite of the campaign to erase such “counter-revolutionary” thoughts from history. My images used in these prints are from energetic and optimistic moments of the pro-democracy movement. Victory was in the air. Progress seemed inevitable to those with arms outstretched and smiles beaming from their faces. Shepard’s work reflects their hopes and aspirations. The same ones that fortified those protesters in 1989 are now fuel for the passionate idealists on the streets today." -Edward Nachtrieb Shepard Fairey's "Revolution in Our Time" silkscreen print is a compelling narrative connecting past and present struggles for democracy and human rights. This piece, released in 2020, commemorates the 70th anniversary of Communist Party rule in China, juxtaposing the state's celebrations with the unyielding spirit of protest in Hong Kong. Fairey's collaboration with photographer Ed Nachtrieb is particularly significant, as it draws on images captured during the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, thereby linking historical acts of resistance to contemporary movements. The artwork is a hand-pulled, 5-color print on cream speckletone fine art paper. With its size of 18x24 inches, the piece commands attention, demanding consideration not just as a visual expression but as a statement of solidarity. The edition is limited to 550 signed and numbered prints, making each a tangible artifact of political artistry. Fairey's design is charged with symbols of peace and resilience, as evidenced by the dove and the raised hand, iconic gestures of defiance and hope. Fairey is known for his stance that street protests are a crucial mechanism for social change, and this belief is visually encoded in the print. His art is not passive; it is an active participant in the dialogue around civil liberties and the collective voice of the people. "Revolution in Our Time" does more than commemorate an event; it propels the message of protest into the future, encouraging a reflection on the nature of authority and the power of the people's will. This limited edition print captures the essence of Shepard Fairey's approach to art as a form of rebellion and communication. It speaks to a universal yearning for freedom and justice, transcending borders and historical moments to unite viewers in a common cause. The work stands as a beacon to civic engagement's enduring relevance and visual art's impact in mobilizing and inspiring change within societies.

D*Face (b. 1978) Run Away, 2020 Screenprint in colors on Lambeth Drawing Cartridge paper 39-1/2 x 27-1/4 inches (100.3 x 69.2 cm) (sheet) Ed. 71/150 Signed and numbered in pencil along the lower edge. Published by Stolen Space Gallery, London The Fusion of Classic and Contemporary in D*Face's 'Run Away' D*Face, the pseudonym of the British street artist Dean Stockton, has long been a prominent name in street pop art and graffiti artwork. His work 'Run Away' is a notable entry in his oeuvre, a hand-pulled 10-color silkscreen print on the revered Lambeth Drawing Cartridge paper. This 2020 signed and numbered limited edition piece exemplifies the artist's commitment to blending street art's insurgent energy with traditional printmaking's craftsmanship. Technical Brilliance and Thematic Depth in 'Run Away' At 39-1/2 x 27-1/4 inches, 'Run Away' is grand in scale and intricate in detail. The piece captures a moment of passionate embrace, yet the figures are depicted with elements of dissolution, perhaps suggesting the fleeting nature of love or the ephemeral quality of relationships. The artwork's narrative is enhanced by its visual complexity—the use of a 10-color palette allows for a vibrant depth of image. The choice of Lambeth Drawing Cartridge paper is crucial to the print's allure. Known for its heavy weight and superior quality, the paper is an excellent foundation for silkscreen. It allows for a crisp transfer of ink and a vibrancy of color that lesser papers could not hold. The Lambeth paper complements D*Face's bold lines and sharp contrasts, ensuring that each print from the limited edition of 150 retains the clarity and impact of the original design. D*Face's Place in the Pantheon of Pop Art DFace's 'Run Away' reflects the artist's position in the pop art landscape. Born in 1978, DFace has witnessed the evolution of street art from a subculture to a globally recognized form of artistic expression. His work often contains commentary on consumerism, fame, and the mechanics of the art world, all deftly woven into 'Run Away.' The artist's signature style blends comic book-inspired aesthetics with a critical lens on modern society, giving him acclaim and space in galleries worldwide. 'Run Away,' published by Stolen Space Gallery in London, is a piece that encapsulates D*Face's mastery over his medium and message. It is a work that invites contemplation on the nature of modern romance, the icons of pop culture, and the art of silkscreen printing. The Lasting Impact of 'Run Away' in Modern Art DFace's 'Run Away' holds a distinguished place in modern art, bridging the gap between the raw expressiveness of street art and the precision of fine art printmaking. The artwork, framed within a large custom frame and mat, is designed to make a statement, whether displayed in a gallery or a private collection. The use of Lambeth Drawing Cartridge paper is a testament to DFace's respect for quality and tradition, even as he pushes the boundaries of art with his innovative and provocative style. The piece is not merely a visual treat; it is a cultural artifact that encapsulates the spirit of the times. With 'Run Away,' D*Face contributes to the ongoing conversation about the place and value of street pop art within the larger artistic narrative. His work, particularly this standout print, will continue to be studied and appreciated by those who seek to understand the complex interplay between art and society in the 21st century.

This is one of those images. For as many times as I have tried to describe what it is that haunts me about this one, I have never been able to adequately describe why. These are the ones I never let go of because for me personally I can't really ever unravel the draw. In my opinion, on a very basic level that is what art is for. To communicate something or evoke something that you couldn't otherwise express with words or by some other means. I've never been able to translate this piece into a coherent explanation. It is solitary experience . Which is what makes it meaningful to me." -Eddie Colla

  • Skingirl II HPM Silkscreen Print by Prefab77

Prefab77 Skingirl II HPM Silkscreen Print by Prefab77

Skingirl II HPM Hand-Embellished Limited Edition Silkscreen Print Art on Wove Fine Art Paper by Artist Prefab77 Contemporary Pop Artwork. 2020 Signed & Numbered HPM Hand Embellished Limited Edition of 25 Artwork Size 27.5x39 Skingirl II HPM Silkscreen Print by Prefab77 "Skingirl II HPM" is a silkscreen print created by the British art collective Prefab77. Prefab77 is known for their striking, provocative, and politically-charged artwork that often combines elements of street art, pop culture, and punk rock aesthetics. Their work is heavily influenced by the 1970s punk movement, as well as the urban art scene that emerged in the early 2000s. The "Skingirl II HPM" (Hand Painted Multiple) silkscreen print is a limited-edition artwork that showcases the collective's unique style and attention to detail. The term "HPM" refers to the process where an artist creates a series of unique, hand-finished prints within a limited edition. This means that although the prints may share a common image, each one will have its own distinct characteristics, making them highly sought-after by collectors. In this particular piece, the central figure is a female character dressed in the classic "skinhead" style, which was popularized in the 1960s and 1970s. This style often included elements such as close-cropped hair or shaved heads, tight jeans or trousers, and heavy boots. The image also incorporates various symbols and elements that reflect the punk and street art influences that are signature to Prefab77's work. As a silkscreen print, "Skingirl II HPM" is created by applying layers of ink through a fine mesh screen, resulting in a bold and vibrant image. This technique allows for a high degree of detail and color saturation, which can be seen in the intricate patterns and shading within the artwork. Overall, "Skingirl II HPM" is a striking piece that captures the spirit of rebellion and defiance characteristic of Prefab77's work, making it a highly desirable addition to any contemporary art collection.
