David Bowie's name is printed at the heel in a style drawn from the cover art of his 1972 studio album, Aladdin Insane, while the Old Skool silhouette remains a favorite." -Vans. The Artistic Fusion of Vans x David Bowie Old Skool Aladdin Sane White Sneakers The Vans x David Bowie Old Skool Aladdin Sane White sneakers embody a seamless blend of street pop art and the legendary flair of one of music's most iconic figures. Released as a limited edition in 2019, these sneakers celebrate the extraordinary legacy of David Bowie, particularly his Aladdin Sane persona, which has become a symbol of avant-garde expression. The partnership between Vans and the David Bowie Archive brought to life a footwear collection that transcends mere fashion accessory status to become a collectible piece of sneaker artwork. Crafted with a pearlescent white upper, these size 12 shoes are a canvas showcasing the unmistakable red and blue lightning bolt, an homage to the striking cover art of Bowie's 1972 studio album "Aladdin Sane." This design element instantly elevates the sneakers to a wearable piece of art, reflecting the glam rock aesthetic Bowie was renowned for. The distinctive design captures the spirit of rebellion and the breaking of convention, characteristics at the heart of David Bowie's legacy and the ethos of street pop art and graffiti artwork. Cultural Resonance and Collectibility of the Vans x David Bowie Sneakers The Vans x David Bowie Old Skool sneakers are not just footwear but a statement, resonating with fans of Bowie, sneakerheads, and art collectors alike. The rarity of these shoes, combined with their never-worn, new-in-box condition, amplifies their desirability as a collector's item. The sneakers represent a convergence of music, art, and street culture, encapsulating a moment when the rebellious spirit of Bowie's music was mirrored in the urban art scene. The decision to print Bowie's name on the heel of the shoes in the stylized font from the "Aladdin Sane" album cover serves as a signature, further authenticating the sneakers as a piece of memorabilia. The collectibility of the Vans x David Bowie Old Skool sneakers is heightened by their limited edition status. Like limited print runs in the art world, the scarcity of these shoes creates a sense of urgency and exclusivity among collectors. This allure is not just about the aesthetic appeal but also the cultural capital that wearing or owning a pair of these sneakers can confer. In the context of street pop art and graffiti artwork, these Vans are akin to a limited edition print, tagged by an artist on a city wall, with the artist being the combined creative vision of Vans and the David Bowie Archive. The Legacy of Vans and David Bowie in the Art and Fashion World The collaboration between Vans and David Bowie's legacy represents a fusion of fashion, music, and art, reflecting the current cultural landscape where boundaries are increasingly fluid. The Old Skool silhouette of the sneakers themselves has a storied history within skate and street culture, making them an ideal candidate for this kind of artistic intervention. The collaboration is a nod to Bowie's artistic vision's influence on various domains, including the aesthetics of street art. Bowie was known for his chameleon-like ability to adapt and influence, and this collaborative sneaker serves as a testament to that enduring adaptability and impact. The Vans x David Bowie Old Skool Aladdin Sane White sneakers are more than just an homage; they are a bridge between the past and the present, between art forms and cultures. They encapsulate the spirit of an era where street pop art and graffiti are not just seen as acts of vandalism but as legitimate forms of art that comment on, reflect, and sometimes even shape the culture. As street art has gained recognition in galleries and auction houses, these sneakers symbolize the ongoing conversation about the place of street culture in the broader artistic and cultural discourse. The Vans x David Bowie Old Skool Aladdin Sane White sneakers are a cultural artifact within the street pop art and graffiti artwork movement. They are a wearable emblem of the cross-pollination of art, music, and fashion, capturing the spirit of David Bowie's groundbreaking work and the quintessential essence of street art's ability to speak to and for the masses. As a collectible, they hold a place of honor among those who value the intersection of art and everyday life, epitomizing the power of collaboration and the enduring nature of cultural icons.

  • David with Machine Gun Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY x Blek le Rat

Shepard Fairey- OBEY David with Machine Gun Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY x Blek le Rat

David with Machine Gun Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY x Blek le Rat Hand-Pulled on Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Pop Street Art Artwork. 2008 Signed by Shepard Fairey & Blek le Rat, Numbered Limited Edition of 100 Artwork Size 18x24 Silkscreen Print In 2008, the art world witnessed a unique collaboration between two titans of street and pop art – Shepard Fairey, renowned for his OBEY campaign, and Blek le Rat, often referred to as the "father of stencil graffiti." Both artists, distinct in their style and impact on the urban art scene, decided to come together for a limited edition release that drew attention from collectors and enthusiasts alike. This exceptional partnership resulted in the creation of the " David with Machine Gun" silkscreen print, an artwork that expertly fuses their individual artistic sensibilities. Hand-pulled on fine art paper, the artwork's exclusivity is highlighted by its limited edition – a mere 100 prints, each meticulously signed and numbered by the artists themselves. The piece measures 18x24 inches, making it a substantial representation of their combined artistry. What makes this collaboration even more intriguing is its connection to Blek le Rat's solo exhibition at Subliminal Projects titled "Art is Not Peace." The print is a visual interpretation of Sybille Prou’s photographs of Blek Le Rat's iconic street art. These photographs served as an inspiration, capturing the raw energy and aesthetic of urban art that both artists have dedicated their careers to championing. The blending of Shepard Fairey's graphic style with the subtlety and nuance of Blek le Rat’s stencil work is a testament to the transformative power of collaborative art. It not only speaks volumes about the evolution of street and pop art but also stands as a significant memento of a pivotal moment in contemporary art history.

  • Dear Mom College Ruled-Paper Silkscreen Print by Mr Brainwash- Thierry Guetta

Mr Brainwash- Thierry Guetta Dear Mom College Ruled-Paper Silkscreen Print by Mr Brainwash- Thierry Guetta

Dear Mom College Ruled- Paper Limited Edition 5-Color Hand-Pulled Silkscreen Print on Deckled Fine Art Paper by Mr. Brainwash- Thierry Guetta Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. 2021 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 75 Artwork Size 22x26 Dear Mom Hand Deckled Paper Edition. Thierry Guetta's Artistic Celebration of Motherhood In the diverse pop and street art sphere, Mr. Brainwash, the pseudonym of Thierry Guetta, has crafted a piece that resonates with universal emotions. "Dear Mom" is not just a visual expression; it's an ode to maternal figures around the world, capturing the essence of gratitude and affection that many feel towards their mothers. This limited-edition print series features a nostalgic composition that intertwines handwritten notes' intimate nature with street art's boldness. Guetta's "Dear Mom" series is a heartfelt celebration of motherhood, immortalized through hand-pulled silkscreen print on deckled fine art paper. Each piece in the limited edition of 75 is a testament to children's tender, personal letters to their mothers. Guetta taps into a shared memory by selecting the universally recognizable motif of college-ruled paper, evoking the innocence and sincerity of youthful expressions of love. Nostalgic Elegance of Hand-Deckled Paper in Guetta's Work The choice of hand-deckled paper adds an element of refined elegance to the prints, suggesting that these are not mere reproductions but carefully crafted works of art. The deckled edges bring a textural dimension that complements the emotional depth of the silkscreen print. Guetta's attention to the tactile quality of his work emphasizes the physicality of affection, a fitting parallel to the tangible warmth and comfort provided by maternal figures. Like Mr. Brainwash, Guetta has always had a knack for blending commercial art techniques with street art's spontaneity and edge. "Dear Mom" exemplifies this approach, marrying the meticulousness of a 5-color hand-pulled process with handwritten notes' raw, emotive power. The result is a series that feels both personal and exquisite, much like the love one feels for a mother. The Sentimental Impact of "Dear Mom" in Street Art The release of "Dear Mom" by Mr. Brainwash goes beyond the typical boundaries of street art, reaching into the realm of the sentimental and the heartfelt. The series has struck a chord with audiences and collectors alike, serving as a reminder of street art's potential to disrupt, endear, and celebrate. Guetta's work is a powerful homage to the silent heroes in our lives, our mothers, making it a significant piece in the landscape of modern pop art. In graffiti and street art, where the brief is often celebrated, Mr. Brainwash's "Dear Mom" series offers a moment of pause, a contemplation on the enduring. Though replicated through silkscreen, handwritten notes retain their individuality, echoing the unique bond each of us shares with our mother. Through this series, Thierry Guetta has once again demonstrated his ability to capture the human experience in his art, creating works as emotionally resonant as they are visually striking.

Buff Monster DELUXE Stay Melty Book by Buff Monster Silkscreen

DELUXE Stay Melty Book Hand Painted Rare Limited Edition Art Book With Graffiti Street Artist Buff Monster Modern Pop Artworks. 2022 Signed & Numbered Edition of 100. 256 pages, 6.75 x 8.75”, hardcover. Handpainted & HPM Silkscreen Cover, One of A Kind Original Art As Seen In Picture. This special version of the new book features a cover that has been hand-painted by me and then silkscreened by hand. The colors of the paint and the silkscreen vary widely, so each one is truly unique (and will be shipped randomly). It's signed and numbered (in an edition of 100) on the back. Also, each book has a thick durable protective plastic cover and is presented in an elegant black fabric slip-case with metallic silver foil stamp. The first version of the book was published in 2015 by Gingko Press. That book is packed full with over 600 photos of murals, paintings, toys and everything in between. Now over 6 years later, I’ve full updated the book. From the endpapers, to the section dividers, to the content in each section, I’d say it's mostly NEW. Of the existing pages, I consolidated and edited them to make room for 6 more years of paintings, murals and editions. We also added around 30 pages to the total page count. So it’s an even denser and larger overview of all of my various artistic endeavors, and still includes the awesome essay by the legendary Carlo McCormick. This new version also has more captions than before, and even comes with a small sheet of stickers! So whether or not you have the original version, this is one you’ll want to have!

  • Demon Jellyfish Original Marker Drawing by Buff Monster

Buff Monster Demon Jellyfish Original Marker Drawing by Buff Monster

Demon Jellyfish Original Marker Drawing by Buff Monster on Card Stock Paper, Modern Street Pop Artwork. 2007 Signed Original Magic Marker Drawing Size 10x6 of a Flying Demon JellyFish "Demon Jellyfish," a striking piece by Buff Monster, encapsulates the spirited essence of street pop art. Crafted in 2007, this original magic marker drawing on card stock paper bears the dimensions of 10x6 inches and presents an intriguing subject—a flying demon jellyfish. As a signed original, it is a tangible connection to Buff Monster's creative spirit and street art's broader narrative. The artwork features a whimsical creature, a hallmark of Buff Monster's style, which often combines the cute with the grotesque and the playful with the demonic. This juxtaposition is emblematic of street pop art's power to blend disparate elements to provoke thought and evoke emotion. The jellyfish, with its dangling tentacles and angelic wings, invites a dialogue about the nature of duality—sinister yet benign, floating yet directed. Buff Monster's use of stark black ink against the plain background exemplifies the potency of contrast—a technique frequently employed in street art to convey explicit, powerful imagery even from a distance. The decision to represent a demon jellyfish suggests a narrative where mythological creatures and urban legends converge, creating a tapestry of modern folklore. The inclusion of Buff Monster's signature and the year of creation anchors the piece in time, offering authenticity and a snapshot of the artist's evolution. As street pop art continues to gain recognition, works like "Demon Jellyfish" are pivotal in chronicling the movement's history and the diversity of its artistic expressions. In the broader context of street pop art and graffiti, the "Demon Jellyfish" stands as a testament to the unbounded creativity of artists who draw inspiration from their urban environments. Buff Monster's work challenges viewers to find beauty and meaning in unexpected forms, proving that even the most fantastical creatures have a place on the streets and in the hearts of those who encounter them.

First found on the streets of New York this pup found its way into the studio and really came to life. We've been pushing our shimmering print process lately and this felt like the perfect print to introduce this into our practice. Four different editions, two in red glitter and two in black glitter. All stained, sprayed, painted and printed; it's all the hallmarks of a studio print now with a lot more shine. Using the words of the artists themselves, the artwork “gives a person the sense that it is there just for them. That they've stumbled across this great little gem amidst the chaos of daily life that can really speak to them. We try to build in a certain ambiguity that leaves the door open for the viewer to find themselves within the story.” This relational character of the FAILE’s art corresponds and becomes amplified by their consistent travel and lack of a permanent studio until the mid-2000s. This resulted in the duo’s embracement and utilization of urban streets and, naturally, gave the produced work a “site-specific” character since public art inevitably adjusts itself to the location of the display.

Seeing a deer dissected for the first time was very inspiring for me. Seeing all the guts and intestines drop out, it was a bit crazy at first,” Nychos told Hypebeast while painting at the world’s premiere street art festival Pow Wow Hawaii earlier this year. “Using all of this anatomy I think have found something I can stick with and really go crazy on. It’s staying fresh for me because I am always finding new ways to do it.” -Nychos

  • Dissection Of The White Rabbit AP Archival Print by Nychos

Nychos Dissection Of The White Rabbit AP Archival Print by Nychos

Dissection Of The White Rabbit Limited Edition Archival Pigment Print on 300gsm Museum Natural Fine Art Paper by Nychos Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. AP Artist Proof 2013Signed & Marked AP Artwork Size 16x16 "I painted this piece in January of this year, right before I went to Hawaii for Pow Wow. It was also featured in my recent solo show in Italy, showcasing some of my recent dissections. The concept is based on the graphical graffiti throw-up I have been doing since around 2005, but I had to do a dissection of this one! The image is now Rabbit Eye Movement's main (REM) logo. REM started as a street art concept based in Vienna, but I always saw the Rabbit Eye Movement as an homage to all the "rabbits" out there being" active in the urban art movement; it doesn't matter what mission they are following. The movement grew, and REM expanded to establish the REM ARTSPACE. This place addresses national and international artists from genres like graffiti, urban illustration, street art, lowbrow, and pop culture imagery. It allows individual and collective creativity to open minds and cultivate passionate inspiration." - Nychos. Nychos' "Dissection of The White Rabbit": A Modern Pop Art Phenomenon In the contemporary urban landscape, few art pieces have captured the imagination as vividly as "Dissection of The White Rabbit" by Nychos, the illustrious graffiti street artist. This limited edition archival pigment print on 300gsm Museum Natural Fine Art Paper stands as a hallmark of modern pop art and a defining piece within the street pop art and graffiti artwork genre. Created as an artist proof (AP) in 2013, this 16x16 artwork weaves complex narratives of biology, mythology, and urban culture into a single, striking, and thought-provoking canvas. Nychos: Anatomical Explorations and Urban Narratives Nychos, renowned for his unique approach to street art, employs a distinctive technique of anatomical dissection in his work. "Dissection of The White Rabbit" is a prime example, presenting a rabbit split down the middle to reveal the intricate workings of its internal organs. This piece was conceived in January of that year, just as Nychos was preparing to attend Pow Wow in Hawaii, and subsequently became a centerpiece in his solo show in Italy. Nychos's work delves into the layers that compose living beings, reflecting a deep fascination with what lies beneath the surface. By marrying the graphic energy of graffiti throw-ups with the precise detail of dissections, Nychos has forged a new path in street pop art. The artwork also functions as the emblem for the Rabbit Eye Movement (REM), a concept originating from the streets of Vienna. Nychos envisions REM as a tribute to the 'rabbits' of the urban art movement, symbolizing the active participants in this burgeoning cultural scene, regardless of their mission. REM has since evolved to establish the REM ARTSPACE. This creative hub celebrates a variety of genres, from graffiti and urban illustration to street art, lowbrow, and pop culture imagery. This space is dedicated to fostering individual and collective creativity and serves as a bastion for the free exchange of ideas, ensuring the progression and inspiration of artists worldwide. The Impact and Legacy of Nychos' Work The influence of "Dissection of The White Rabbit" extends beyond its visual impact. It embodies Nychos' profound effect on the street art scene, illustrating the transformative power of visual arts in urban spaces. The work is a representation of the artist's technical prowess and a symbol of his commitment to challenging the traditional boundaries of street pop art and graffiti artwork. As the primary logo for the Rabbit Eye Movement, it has become synonymous with a global network of artists dedicated to advancing the cause of street art. Through his work and the establishment of REM ARTSPACE, Nychos has played a pivotal role in shaping the dialogue around street art and its place in the broader spectrum of contemporary art. In essence, "Dissection of The White Rabbit" is more than just a piece of art; it is a cornerstone of Nychos' artistic and cultural contribution. This piece encapsulates the dynamism and versatility of street pop art and graffiti artwork, demonstrating how such works can simultaneously educate, inspire, and provoke thought. As Nychos' fame continues to rise and his works continue to captivate audiences around the globe, the legacy of his white rabbit, dissected and displayed, stands as an enduring symbol of the power and potential of street art.
