Derek Hess Polikarpov-Gill Original Mixed Media Drawing

Polikarpov-Gill Mixed Media Drawing on Fine Art Paper by Derek Hess graffiti street artist modern original art. 2014 Signed Framed Original Mixed Media Painting Drawing Artwork Size 14x11.5 This piece includes a 1/2 Inch Black Metal Frame float mounted with 2 Inch matte, UV-Glass, foam core backing and ready to hang hardware. "My first batch was done in 2010/2011 and showed during the World's Largest Crappie Festival in Water Valley Mississippi, that was awesome. All are were made using pen, ink, and acrylic. My father was a B-26 pilot and my dad helped instill the interest in the subject. Two of the pieces feature a rock bass morphed with a B-26. These are completely different from what I normally do, whatever 'normal' means. Anyway, these were just a lot of fun to do. Whereas some of the intense pieces that I do I feel I have to do, as to purge it from my system, which works half the time (I tend to carry that stuff with me). I wanted to do these for fun and are a great distraction." - Derek Hess

  • Poopy Pants Designer Art Toy by Joan Cornellà Poopy Pants Designer Art Toy by Joan Cornellà

Joan Cornellà Poopy Pants Designer Art Toy by Joan Cornellà

Poopy Pants Designer Art Toy by Joan Cornellà Limited Edition Vinyl Sculpture Collectible Artwork by Pop Street Artist. 2021 Limited Edition of TBD Artwork Size 5x10.2 New In Box Printed Signature on Foot. Statue of a man in pink suit with fist up holding two signs reading: Stop Being Poor & Fiught The Power-Less. Joan Cornellà's "Poopy Pants" Designer Art Toy is a testament to the audaciousness and satirical depth characteristic of much of today's pop and street art. This limited edition vinyl sculpture released in the spring/summer of 2021 presents a provocative and simultaneously comedic vision. Depicting a figure in a bright pink suit, pants embarrassingly pulled down to his ankles, the artwork wields a directness in its messaging. A bold sign draped over the figure's torso declares, "Stop Being Poor," juxtaposed with another sign he holds aloft proclaiming, "Fight The Powerless." The imagery here is rife with paradox and contradiction. On one hand, the call to "Stop Being Poor" might be a sarcastic commentary on the oversimplification of societal ills and the ignorance of those in power. On the other, the message to "Fight The Powerless" lampoons the misdirection of societal rage and the frequent scapegoating of those least equipped to defend themselves. The use of the pink suit, a non-traditional and flashy color, further emphasizes the piece's defiance of convention. Joan Cornellà's artistry delves into the sometimes uncomfortable realm of social commentary, forcing viewers to confront and question established norms and values. This vinyl sculpture, with its printed signature on the foot, serves as both a collector's item and a powerful conversation piece. Standing proudly at 5x10.2 inches, the "Poopy Pants" figure is emblematic of the continued evolution of pop and street art, blurring the lines between humor, commentary, and protest.

How I relate with cartoons and graphics is a lot easier than I do with photo-realistic stuff. I love referencing things that people are so familiar with. With humor and nostalgia, you can open up communication. I’ve done that for years, used elements of humor and familiarity to open a dialogue because then you can slide in some real issues and different things you’re trying to convey in your work. You have a lot more open stream to the person’s consciousness and experience towards how they’re taking your art. If you can get them to laugh at it, remember something or relate to some image.

Pop Can- Pink Limited Edition 7-Color Hand-Pulled Silkscreen Print on Fine Art Paper by Denial Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. 2020 Signed Limited Edition of 40 Artwork Size 18x24 In 2000 he adopted the moniker ‘DENIAL’ as a means of poking fun at advertising, politics, and media messages that contemporary society is often ‘in denial’ about. Denial is a Canadian artist who experiments with aerosol and stencil art, while his main fields of interest are consumerism, politics and the human condition in today’s society. Since the culture of graffiti was gaining more and more popularity in the US and Europe, the taggers had to be increasingly original in order to stand out. The signatures became bigger, more stylized and more colorful.

Pop Graff Original Painting Acrylic, Spray Paint Mixed Media on Canvas Gallery Wrap by Sen2 Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. "Having developed my style over the course of thirty years, I often use vibrant colors and funky lettering to capture the viewer's attention in an instant. While my graffiti is generally limited to the street, I decided to showcase three original canvases exclusively for 1xRUN.As an artist, I have deep and passionate respect for the forefathers of the Pop Art Movement. Some of my greatest influence has come from Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. They planted the seeds in the latter part of the 20th century which changed people's perception of art. It's remarkable when a handful of individuals can spawn a revolution that will continue for many years to come, well into the 21st century. They created a paradigm shift in how art was to be interpreted and became the legendary masters." - Sen2

  • Pop Tart Yellow Unique Collage Silkscreen Print by D*Face- Dean Stockton Pop Tart Yellow Unique Collage Silkscreen Print by D*Face- Dean Stockton

D*Face- Dean Stockton Pop Tart Yellow Unique Collage Silkscreen Print by D*Face- Dean Stockton

Pop Tart Yellow Unique HPM Original Collage Silkscreen Print by D*Face- Dean Stockton Screen Print on Wove Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Pop Street Art Artwork. 2007 Signed & Numbered Collage HPM Embellished Unique Original Artwork Size 30x29 Framed Exploring the Vibrant Convergence of Street Pop Art & Graffiti Artwork The fusion of street pop art and graffiti artwork often creates a vivid tableau that not only captures the eye but also provokes thought and commentary on societal issues. The "Pop Tart Yellow Unique HPM Original Collage Silkscreen Print" by the renowned British artist D*Face, whose real name is Dean Stockton, exemplifies this dynamic. Produced in 2007, this limited-edition work is an engaging piece that is visually arresting and thematically complex. Dean Stockton and the Allure of Screen Printing Dean Stockton, better known as D*Face, has become a standout figure in contemporary street art. His work often critiques the consumerist culture, the mechanization of modern life, and the omnipresent media that shape our realities. Born in London, Stockton is alive as of my last update, and his work continues to influence the trajectory of street art globally. The "Pop Tart Yellow" work showcases"his distinctive approach to street pop art, infusing elements of graffiti with traditional pop art aesthetics. The silkscreen process, a hallmark of pop art since its popularization by figures like Andy Warhol, is central to the visual impact of "Pop Tart Yellow." "t allows Stockto" to layer colors and images, creating an almost tangible texture. This method, which entails pushing ink through a screen to transfer an image onto a substrate, adds to the uniqueness of each piece, especially when hand embellishments are involved. The Cultural Commentary of "Pop Tart Yellow" U" on observing" "Pop Tart Yellow" p" int, one is str"ck by its bold use of color and the juxtaposition of a skeletal figure adorned with cartoon-like features. The artwork is a veritable cornucopia of social commentary, steeped in the visual language of both street and pop art. The yellow backdrop serves as an eye-catching element and a symbol of caution, mirroring the cautionary tales often told by street artists about the world around us. The elements of collage and the hand-finished touches, indicated by "HPM" (Hand Painted Multiple), point" to "the unique nature of each print within the limited series. Stockon's choice to hand-embellish tStockon's underscores the street art ethos of originality and direct engagement with the artwork. The skeletal figure, a recurring motif in D*Face's work, invokes the temporaliD*Face'sman existence and the often superficial layering of societal expectations and norms. The imagery in "Pop Tart Yellow" reflects a disenchantment with the"police state and the perpetual cycle of violence, as suggested by the text fragments accompanying the visual elements. Stockton's work is rarely without a Stockton'sedge, and this piece continues in that vein, challenging the viewer to reflect on the structures of power and authority that govern everyday life. The artwork’s dimensions, 30x29 inches, make it a commanding presence in any space. As with many street art pieces, the scale contributes to the impact, and even when confined within a frame, "Pop Tart Yellow" retains the raw energy typically found in Stockton’s more enormous murals. The act of Stockton Street art, a form traditionally found in the brief space of the urban landscape, further blurs the lines between high art and accessible street culture. Legacy and Influence in Modern Street Art The legacy of street pop art and graffiti artwork like "Pop Tart Yellow" lies in its ability" to remain relevant over the years. Though created in 2007, the thematic concerns of the piece resonate strongly in today's social and political climate. Today's art has long been a medium for marginalized voices and a platform for alternative narratives in the public sphere. As a limited edition work, "Pop Tart Yellow" allows collectors "to hold a piece "of that conversation, a moment of that dialogue immortalized through the artist's lens. D*Face’s body of artwork D*Face's "Pop Tart Yellow" provides a critical"l lens through which to view our contemporary world. Stockton's art compels us to confront Stockton's mundane and the political in one fell swoop. His influence extends beyond the streets and into the galleries, bridging the gap between what art can be and what it has the potential to communicate. The vibrant interplay between color, text, and imagery in "Pop Tart Yellow" is a testament to "Tockton’s skill" in harnessing Stockton's pop art to open conversations and challenge perceptions. Much like the rest of his oeuvre, this piece will continue to captivate and inspire, inviting onlookers to partake in a visual feast that is both a reflection and a critique of the world we navigate.

Pop Tart- Yellow Hand-Pulled 7-Color Framed Silkscreen Print on 410gsm Somerset Satin White Paper by Artist D*Face- Dean Stockton Limited Edition Fine Art Artwork. 2007 Signed & Numbered Framed Limited Edition of 125 Artwork Size 30x29 Framed With a Large Custom Frame & Mat. Pop Tart (Yellow), 2007 Screenprint in colors on paper 30 x 29 inches (76.2 x 73.7 cm) (sheet) Ed. 125 Signed and numbered in pencil along the lower edge. Published by Black Rat Press   Blending Street Edge with Fine Art: D*Face's "Pop Tart- Yellow" "Pop Tart- Yellow" by DFace, the pseudonym of Dean Stockton, is a remarkable piece in pop art, street art, and graffiti. This 2007 hand-pulled 7-color silkscreen print on Somerset Satin White Paper represents a fusion of street edge with delicate art sensibility, a hallmark of DFace's work. The print, signed and numbered by the artist, is part of a limited edition series of 125, each framed with a large custom frame and mat, measuring 30x29 inches. DFace's work often confronts the viewer with vibrant colors and a juxtaposition of images that challenge pop culture norms. "Pop Tart- Yellow" showcases this with a striking visual pun that layers celebrity imagery with graphic elements of decay, questioning the immortalization of icons in pop culture. The silkscreen technique DFace uses allows for crisp, vivid colors that pop against the paper, a testament to the artist's skill and attention to detail. In the vein of pop art tradition, D*Face's work comments on consumerism and the commodification of fame, with "Pop Tart- Yellow" as a perfect example. This artwork embodies the transformation of a cultural icon into a visual discourse, engaging with the viewer's understanding of fame and mortality. It's a piece that resonates with the ethos of street art, where the public space is a canvas for social and political commentary. The legacy of "Pop Tart- Yellow" in the art community is significant as it exemplifies the blurred lines between street art's rawness and the refined nature of limited edition prints. The artwork's presence in a gallery or a private collection continues to carry the spirit of the streets, where D*Face's artistry first found its voice. As street pop art and graffiti continue to influence the contemporary art scene, works like "Pop Tart- Yellow" remain pivotal, showcasing this genre's vibrant and transformative power.

The Artistic Synthesis of Pop Culture and Street Art: Popcorn Bowie by Yusuke Hanai x Netflix In modern pop graffiti and street art, "Popcorn Bowie," a mixed media sculpture by Yusuke Hanai in collaboration with Netflix, emerges as a significant piece. This 2023 creation is a testament to the artist's skill and a cultural commentary bridging the world of entertainment and fine art. With its unique design, the figure is stamped and numbered as a limited edition of 500, ensuring its status as a collectible piece. The sculpture itself is compact, with the figure size at 2x7.3 inches, and is presented with an 8.27x8.27 inches bowl, new in the box. Yusuke Hanai, a Japanese artist known for his distinct style that draws from traditional Japanese aesthetics and the global surf culture, has infused "Popcorn Bowie" with a playful yet thoughtful character. This work is an ode to the era of street pop art, wherein elements of graffiti's spontaneity and pop art's fascination with mass culture converge. The sculpture is a nod to the iconic figure of David Bowie, a fitting subject for a piece that seeks to embody the spirit of pop art, with its constant dialogue with popular culture and celebrity. The relaxed posture of the figure, coupled with the inclusion of a popcorn bowl, suggests a moment of leisure and entertainment, themes frequently explored in Hanai's work. The artwork's title, "Popcorn Bowie," evokes a sense of casual enjoyment while referencing the legendary music icon known for his transformative and boundary-pushing persona. This duality is at the heart of street pop art — the everyday meeting of the extraordinary and the mundane interspersed with sparks of brilliance. Materiality and Meaning in Popcorn Bowie: A Contemporary Artifact Materially, "Popcorn Bowie" is a symphony of various media, indicative of the street pop art tradition of utilizing diverse materials to create multifaceted works. The sculpture's mixed media nature — likely including elements such as resin, paint, and possibly more unconventional substances — resonates with the principle of graffiti art, which uses whatever materials are available to communicate with the public. Each sculpture, part of a limited series, bears the mark of exclusivity and is a tangible piece of Hanai's vision, stamped and numbered to assert its authenticity and collectibility. The narrative that "Popcorn Bowie" encapsulates is reflective of the times — a modern piece that draws from various facets of contemporary life. The collaboration with Netflix, a giant in modern entertainment, highlights the intersection of street art's underground roots with mainstream cultural phenomena. This partnership is a testament to the evolving nature of street pop art and graffiti artwork, where countercultural movements now engage openly with corporate entities, signaling a new chapter in the art form's history. Cultural Implications of Yusuke Hanai's Collaboration with Netflix The cultural implications of such a collaboration are vast. Yusuke Hanai's "Popcorn Bowie" becomes an object of visual delight and a marker of the times. It signifies the breaking down of barriers between different artistic disciplines and the increasing recognition of street pop art within the broader context of cultural production. The sculpture's connection to Netflix — a platform that has revolutionized the way stories are told and consumed — adds a layer of contemporary relevance to the piece, making it a modern artifact that is both a work of art and a cultural commentary. In essence, "Popcorn Bowie" is more than a sculpture; it is a conversation piece that invites reflection on the nature of art, entertainment, and the spaces in between. As a limited edition work, it represents the artist's unique vision and captures the zeitgeist of the era in which it was created. Collectors and admirers of street pop art and graffiti artwork will find in "Popcorn Bowie" a convergence of playfulness and profundity, a hallmark of Yusuke Hanai's artistic journey and a vibrant example of the continuous evolution of street-inspired art.

  • POW! Silkscreen Print by DKNG

DKNG POW! Silkscreen Print by DKNG

POW! Limited Edition ICON Series 4-Color Hand-Pulled Silkscreen Print on Fine Art Paper by DKNG Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. 2014 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition Silkscreen Artwork Size 12x12.The Batmobile from the Classic Adam West Batman TV Show. "Every film has one. A signature prop, set, or location. Something that, in a single image, can represent the entire movie. The design team of Dan Kuhlken and Nathan Goldman, also known as DKNG, call these images “Icons,” and they are the subject of their first-ever solo show at Gallery 1988 West in Los Angeles. The show comprises pieces featuring iconic places and things from your favorite movies and TV shows. Each piece is small – 12 inches square – and is of one thing that sums up an entire movie. And, of course, each is done in DKNG’s distinctive bright, geometric yet detailed style.” -.DKNG DKNG's "POW!": A Nostalgic Ode in Silkscreen DKNG's "POW!" is a cultural emblem, a graphic encapsulation of a pop culture phenomenon rendered through the lens of modern pop art. This piece, part of the ICON series, celebrates the Batmobile from the classic Adam West "Batman" TV show. Limited to a 2014 signed and numbered edition, the 12x12 silkscreen print embodies the fusion of street art vibrancy with the meticulous craft of screen printing. Iconography and Pop Culture in Silkscreen In "POW!", DKNG studios — comprised of artists Dan Kuhlken and Nathan Goldman — employ a 4-color hand-pulled silkscreen process to immortalize the Batmobile. This piece isn't just an image of a car; it represents an era, an iconic slice of television history distilled into a single, stylized image. With their characteristic geometric precision and a palette that captures the vitality of the '60s, DKNG delivers an artwork that is both a tribute and a visual reinvention. The Batmobile is more than just a vehicle; it's a character in its own right, a symbol of justice, adventure, and the tongue-in-cheek campiness that characterized the original "Batman" series. Set against a sunset backdrop with palm trees that suggest the silhouette of Gotham (or, in a real-world sense, the streets of Los Angeles), the image portrays the Batmobile speeding off into another night of crime fighting. DKNG's ability to condense a complex narrative into a single frame is a testament to its design prowess and understanding of pop culture's visual language. Artistic Synthesis in "POW!" The artistry in "POW!" speaks volumes about DKNG's role in the pop art movement and its influence on street art aesthetics. The bold lines and dynamic composition are reminiscent of comic books, while the sophistication of the print reflects a deep appreciation for the art of silkscreen printing. The very nature of screen printing — layering colors, meticulously crafting each element — aligns with the laborious stencil work of street art, demanding precision and vision. Each piece in the ICON series, "POW!" included, acts as a standalone narrative, capturing the essence of its subject in a minimalistic yet detailed fashion. This approach is reminiscent of the philosophical underpinnings of street pop art and graffiti, where the artwork aims to connect quickly and powerfully with the viewer. DKNG manages to evoke the visual excitement of the "Batman" series and the emotional connections many fans have to the original show.  DKNG's Legacy in Contemporary Art DKNG’s work, including "POW!", is a contemporary homage to the moments that define pop culture. Through screen printing, the studio has carved a niche in the art world, blending commercial design with fine art and influencing the trajectory of pop art and street art. Their ICON series, and indeed their entire portfolio, demonstrates how classic techniques can be revitalized for the modern age, breathing new life into the imagery of our collective memory. "POW!" is a representation of DKNG's skill and a piece of nostalgia, appealing to those who are fond of the past while striking a chord with a new generation of design enthusiasts. The silkscreen print is a reminder of the enduring power of iconic imagery and the role of artists in shaping, preserving, and reinterpreting the visual language of pop culture. In essence, DKNG's "POW!" and the ICON series embody the spirit of street pop art and graffiti artwork, capturing the attention and imagination of viewers. Through their work, DKNG proves that art can transcend time, place, and medium to forge an indelible mark on both the past and present. The Batmobile, as presented by DKNG, races not just on the streets of Gotham but through the annals of pop art history, powered by the creativity and insight of two visionary artists.
