Amy Ross is an American contemporary artist known for her intricate and highly detailed drawings and sculptures of hybrid creatures that blend plant and animal forms. She is based in Boston, Massachusetts. Ross earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University in 2000, and her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in 2005. Her work has been exhibited widely across the United States, including at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, Massachusetts, and the Katonah Museum of Art in Katonah, New York. Ross's work often explores themes of growth, transformation, and interconnectedness between the natural world and human experience. She frequently draws inspiration from botany, biology, and mythology, and her pieces are highly detailed and meticulously crafted, with a strong emphasis on texture and pattern.
