  • Revolution Is a Mother Who Eats Its Children Black Tondo Silkscreen Print by Cleon Peterson

Cleon Peterson Revolution Is a Mother Who Eats Its Children Black Tondo Silkscreen Print by Cleon Peterson

Revolution Is a Mother Who Eats Its Children Black Tondo Silkscreen Print by Cleon Peterson on Hand Deckled Circle Cut 290gsm Coventry Rag Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Artwork. 2024 Signed & Numbered Cleon Peterson Limited Edition of 100 Artwork Size 24x24 Circle Cut Silkscreen Print. Cleon Peterson's Tondo: A Visceral Exploration of Revolution Cleon Peterson's "Revolution Is a Mother Who Eats Its Children Black Tondo" captures the essence of revolution — its transformative fury and cannibalistic backlash. This 2024 limited edition silkscreen print is a stark embodiment of the cyclic violence inherent in societal upheaval. With his signature high-contrast aesthetic, Peterson compels contemplation of the tumult that accompanies systemic change. Artistic Merits of Peterson's Black Tondo Limited to a series of 100, each piece is meticulously signed and numbered, accentuating the exclusivity of this thought-provoking artwork. The tondo — a circular artwork — measures 24x24 inches, a format that historically suggests wholeness and infinity but represents the never-ending loop of revolutionary fervor in Peterson's hands. The hand-deckled edges of the circle cut 290gsm Coventry Rag fine art paper enhance the tactile quality of the piece, adding to its visceral impact. The choice of the circle is deliberate, disrupting the traditional rectangular canvas to create a more immersive and contemplative experience. This shape allows the violence within to spill out in all directions, mirroring the all-consuming nature of the theme. Peterson's work does not simply hang on a wall; it confronts and envelops the viewer in its narrative. Cultural Commentary through Peterson's Silkscreen In "Revolution Is a Mother Who Eats Its Children Black Tondo," Peterson lays bare the paradoxes of revolt. His use of black — associated with the unknown and often with death — serves as a void into which the figures emerge and are consumed. The artwork is an allegory of the cyclical nature of history, where each act of uprising carries the seeds of its destruction within it. The stark black-and-white hues strip the scene of any romanticism, exposing the raw power struggle. It speaks to the heart of street pop art and graffiti artwork, which often deal in objective truths and lay claim to public spaces as forums for dialogue. Peterson's work takes this further, encapsulating the raw, uncensored voice of the street in a fine art context. The "Revolution Is a Mother Who Eats Its Children Black Tondo" is a poignant reminder of the perpetual dance between order and chaos. It is a piece that encapsulates the essence of Cleon Peterson's approach to street pop art, rendering visible the often uncomfortable realities that underpin human societies. Through his work, Peterson challenges the viewer, compelling a deeper engagement with the undercurrents of cultural and political change.

Tim Doyle Ready to Believe You Silkscreen Print by Tim Doyle

Ready to Believe You Limited Edition 4-Color Hand-Pulled Silkscreen Print on Fine Art Paper by Tim Doyle Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. 2014 Signed & Numbered Litimed Edition of 200 Artwork Size 12x24 Ready to Believe You Silkscreen Print by Tim Doyle Tim Doyle’s Ready to Believe You is a striking piece of street pop art and graffiti artwork that pays homage to an iconic moment in cinematic history. Released in 2014 as a four-color hand-pulled silkscreen print on fine art paper, this work captures the atmospheric energy of a legendary firehouse from film culture. With a signed and numbered limited edition of 200, the artwork stands at 12x24 inches, creating an elongated, vertical perspective that draws the viewer into the scene. The combination of deep blues, stark reds, and dramatic lighting enhances the intensity of the moment, reflecting Doyle’s ability to merge pop culture nostalgia with modern artistic techniques. The Cinematic Influence and Urban Aesthetic The print instantly transports viewers to a familiar setting, referencing one of the most beloved supernatural comedy films of all time. The building depicted is unmistakable, standing tall with its grand arched entrance, large upper windows, and historic brickwork. The moment captured in the artwork is filled with movement—the firehouse doors are flung open, and a recognizable vehicle bursts forth, headlights beaming, while papers scatter across the pavement. This rush of activity is further amplified by the strong contrast between the night sky’s ominous red glow and the brilliant artificial light pouring from within. Doyle’s use of perspective intensifies the drama, angling the scene to make the building appear imposing and larger than life. This technique, reminiscent of classic comic book illustration, creates a dynamic composition that feels almost animated. The precise architectural details, paired with a street-level view, bring an urban realism that resonates with both street pop art and graffiti artwork enthusiasts. The integration of scattered papers and small street elements grounds the piece in a lived-in city environment, reinforcing Doyle’s mastery of storytelling through visual art. The Signature Style of Tim Doyle Tim Doyle is widely recognized for his ability to reinterpret pop culture imagery through bold, hand-drawn linework and silkscreen printing. His work often explores well-known locations and characters, infusing them with a gritty, neon-soaked energy that feels both nostalgic and fresh. In Ready to Believe You, Doyle employs his signature high-contrast shading, creating deep shadows that add to the sense of mystery and excitement. The selective use of color, particularly the glowing blues and harsh reds, provides a cinematic quality reminiscent of classic film posters. The four-color silkscreen process enhances the print’s richness, with each layer of ink carefully applied to build depth and texture. The final result is a piece that feels tangible, capturing the essence of the setting in a way that digital reproductions cannot replicate. This method aligns perfectly with the principles of street pop art, where traditional printing techniques meet contemporary subject matter to create highly collectible, visually striking works. The Cultural Impact and Legacy of the Artwork As part of Doyle’s ongoing series exploring iconic locations from pop culture, Ready to Believe You serves as both a tribute and a reimagining of a legendary film setting. Its impact extends beyond nostalgia, offering a fresh perspective on a widely recognized structure while maintaining the energy and rebellious spirit associated with street pop art and graffiti artwork. The detailed craftsmanship and vibrant color palette ensure that this piece stands out as a statement of artistic innovation and cultural appreciation. For collectors and fans of both film history and contemporary printmaking, Ready to Believe You represents a perfect fusion of both worlds. It not only immortalizes a classic moment but does so with an artistic approach that elevates the subject matter beyond simple replication. Through this print, Doyle continues to demonstrate why his work is celebrated among those who appreciate the intersections of pop culture, fine art, and urban visual storytelling.

Ryan Thomas Monahan Fragment #2 Original Mixed Media Painting by Ryan Thomas Monahan

Fragment #2 What The Hell Original Mixed Media Painting by Ryan Thomas Monahan One of a Kind Artwork on Wood Panel Affixed to Frame 3D Street Art Pop Artist. 2022 Signed 3D Stacked Mixed Media New York NYC Street Manhole Scene Painting Original Artwork Size 11.25x9.25 Framed Fragment #2: What The Hell by Ryan Thomas Monahan – Urban Memory as Sculpture in Street Pop Art & Graffiti Artwork Fragment #2: What The Hell is a 2022 original mixed media work by American artist Ryan Thomas Monahan, created on a wood panel and presented in a framed 11.25 x 9.25 inch format. This one-of-a-kind piece captures a hyperrealistic street-level view of New York City, complete with a sculpted manhole cover, bits of food debris, torn signage, and a crushed takeout container rendered in painstaking detail. It is a physical fragment of the imagined street, an emotional terrain frozen in time. The textures are layered through 3D stacking and sculptural techniques, forming a tactile diorama of a forgotten sidewalk scene. Signed by the artist, the work is part of Monahan’s larger practice of constructing micro-environments that reflect on consumer culture, ephemerality, and the language of urban decay. Miniature Realism and Emotional Debris Ryan Thomas Monahan’s artistry is rooted in the act of remembering—through objects, through trash, through surfaces that most people overlook. In Fragment #2: What The Hell, Monahan builds a narrative through placement, imperfection, and meticulous realism. The partially visible manhole cover, etched with MADE IN NYC, grounds the work in a specific geography while allowing the viewer to connect with a universal street scene. Scattered remnants like the Chinese takeout box and torn WET FLOOR label add both humor and grit, evoking a space that feels lived in, walked over, and uncelebrated. These elements are not simply decorative—they function as emotional cues, anchoring the piece in memory and identity. The artwork’s title reflects the confusion and clutter that defines public space, suggesting a moment of bewilderment or absurdity embedded in the everyday. Construction, Texture, and Dimensional Intimacy This work exists in three dimensions. Constructed on a wood panel with mixed media materials, it includes real-world textures that mimic asphalt, metal, cardboard, and grime. The 3D elements are not exaggerated—they are subtle enough to suggest depth while preserving the illusion of a flat surface when viewed from a distance. This trick of the eye is part of Monahan’s signature technique, allowing viewers to become physically and mentally engaged with the scale and structure of the piece. Framed in black, the artwork is displayed with the formality of fine art, yet retains its street-level roots in every detail. The materials are layered, collaged, and manipulated to blur the boundary between sculpture and painting, between memory and documentation. Ryan Thomas Monahan and the Material Poetics of the City In the world of Street Pop Art & Graffiti Artwork, Ryan Thomas Monahan occupies a distinctive space. His work does not shout through color or scale, but instead whispers through detail, decay, and resonance. Fragment #2: What The Hell is not a monument, but a memory—a slice of overlooked reality pulled into focus. It reflects the detritus of culture, the poetry of trash, and the persistence of place. Monahan reminds viewers that beauty is found in the smallest fragments, and that the stories of the street are written not just in murals and tags, but in the crumbs, stains, and signage that mark every corner. This piece is not only an artwork—it is a sculpture of lived experience, preserved at human scale for those willing to look down and pay attention.

The whole album is great, very multi-dimensional ranging from aggressive and dissonant on songs like “Teeth Like God’s Shoeshine” to folky, jangly, and intimate on “Trailer Trash.” My two favorite songs on The Lonesome Crowded West are “Doin’ the Cockroach,” which builds steadily into an exhilarating staccato guitar frenzy, and the song that follows it, “Cowboy Dan,” which is full of tension, struggle, anger, and beauty. Lyrically, the band’s singer and primary songwriter, Isaac Brock, comes across as an empathetic world-weary sage. I rarely call someone a poet, but Isaac wrote with such depth for someone only 23 years old that I think poet is the only title that properly conveys his elevated craft as a lyricist. I got to do Modest Mouse’s 2000 Black Glass tour poster, which was a huge deal for me." -Shepard Fairey- OBEY Marking the 25th anniversary of Modest Mouse's influential album "The Lonesome Crowded West," celebrated street artist Shepard Fairey, known as OBEY, crafted a striking limited edition silkscreen print. This 2022 piece, meticulously hand-pulled and comprising five colors on Cream Speckletone fine art paper, mirrors the layered complexity of the album it honors. The work measures 18x24 inches, a testament to the album's monumental impact on the alternative rock scene and Fairey's own artistic journey. Each of the 825 signed and numbered prints encapsulates Fairey's personal connection with the album, having first encountered its raw and eclectic sound in 1998, a year after its release. He describes the album as "multi-dimensional," resonating through its varied tones from the "aggressive and dissonant" to the "folky, jangly, and intimate." His favorite tracks, "Doin’ the Cockroach" and "Cowboy Dan," evoke contrasting emotions of exhilaration and introspective tension, revealing the dexterity of Modest Mouse's music and the profound lyrical skill of frontman Isaac Brock. In this piece, Fairey channels the essence of the album's themes, depicting an isolated tower amidst a vast, red-streaked landscape, symbolizing the album's exploration of urban isolation and the Western American experience. The contrast between the solitary building and the surrounding expanse eloquently captures the album's title, "The Lonesome Crowded West." This visual representation goes beyond mere album art; it is an intersection of Fairey's iconic style and Modest Mouse's sonic influence, bridging visual and auditory art forms. Fairey's engagement with Modest Mouse extends back to their 2000 "Black Glass" tour, for which he also created a poster. This long-standing relationship emphasizes the mutual respect between the artist and the band, illustrating how music and visual art can coalesce to form powerful cultural statements. His artistic expression is not only a tribute to the music but also an homage to Brock's poetic lyrics, which left an indelible impression on Fairey, prompting him to label Brock a true poet. As an influential figure in street art and pop culture, Fairey’s creation for Modest Mouse cements his position at the forefront of contemporary art. It serves as a visual anchor for the album’s legacy, ensuring that its cultural resonance extends into the visual realm. Collectors and fans of both the band and Fairey find in this print a confluence of two forms of rebellion and expression, solidified on paper but echoing far beyond.

I used to buy discontinued wallpaper, but now I design and print my own. These look nice as stand-alone prints, not just repeat patterns, so I'm releasing a 200-print edition of four versions. Buy a couch to match… coming soon… just kidding!" -Shepard Fairey- OBEY. Floral Takeover 2017 Red Black by Shepard Fairey (OBEY) Artwork Overview *Floral Takeover 2017 Red Black* is a striking ornamental composition by Shepard Fairey that showcases his mastery of pattern, repetition, and graphic balance. Drawing inspiration from vintage wallpaper, political poster design, and street-install aesthetics, the piece transforms a traditionally decorative floral motif into a commanding visual statement. The bold red florals layered against a deep black background create a high-contrast composition that feels both elegant and confrontational, a hallmark of Fairey’s visual language. Style and Concept This work reflects Fairey’s long-standing fascination with pattern as a tool for both beauty and disruption. Originally developed for street installations, these floral designs blur the line between fine art and urban intervention. By isolating the pattern as a stand-alone artwork, Fairey elevates decorative repetition into a meditative and powerful form, encouraging viewers to consider harmony, structure, and visual problem-solving as metaphors for broader social systems. The symmetrical vines and blossoms feel timeless, while the color palette anchors the piece firmly within the OBEY aesthetic. Edition Details Released in 2017, *Floral Takeover 2017 Red Black* is a hand-pulled, two-color silkscreen print on cream Speckletone fine art paper. The artwork measures 18 x 24 inches and is signed and numbered by Shepard Fairey in a limited edition of 200. As one of four color variations in the Floral Takeover series, this red-and-black version stands out for its bold intensity and graphic clarity, making it a highly desirable example of Fairey’s pattern-driven works within contemporary pop and street art.

  • Sale -10% Cialis Le Pew Blotter Paper Archival Print by Ben Frost

Ben Frost Cialis Le Pew Blotter Paper Archival Print by Ben Frost

Cialis Le Pew Blotter Paper Archival Print by Ben Frost Limited Edition Fine Art Archival Pigment Print Art on Perforated Blotter Paper. 2025 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of TBD Archival Pigment Print on Perforated Blotter Paper Size: 7.5 x 7.5 Inches Release: April 19, 2025 Limited blotter editions are hand-perforated by Zane Kesey. Pharmaceutical Aesthetics and Cartoon Satire Cialis Le Pew by Ben Frost brings together cartoon absurdity and adult pharmaceutical branding in a limited edition archival blotter paper print released in 2025. Known for his provocative Street Pop Art & Graffiti Artwork, Frost takes viewers on a subversive ride by merging the suggestive character of Pepé Le Pew with the visual identity of Cialis, a well-known medication for erectile dysfunction. Printed on 7.5 x 7.5 inch perforated blotter paper and hand-perforated by Zane Kesey, this piece sits at the intersection of consumer critique and visual comedy. With bold linework and an unmistakable pharmaceutical color scheme, Frost uses satire to expose the contradictions of health, desire, and fantasy in commercial culture. Reinterpreting Brand Messaging Through Street Pop Ben Frost’s work frequently co-opts the visual language of consumer goods, particularly those related to pharmaceuticals and fast food. In this print, the formal structure of a Cialis package is preserved: dosage information, branding, and corporate insignia are all present. But the addition of Pepé Le Pew lounging provocatively transforms the message entirely. The piece is not about medical treatment—it becomes a conversation on romantic projection, toxic masculinity, and mass-market seduction. Frost intentionally plays with taboos by inserting a controversial cartoon figure into the branding of a real-world medication, using humor as a mechanism for cultural interrogation. Blotter Format as Conceptual Canvas The decision to present this print on perforated blotter paper deepens the commentary. Traditionally associated with psychedelic culture, blotter art has been a platform for anti-establishment graphics since the 1960s. In this format, Frost’s image carries connotations of altered states, drug dependency, and societal disillusionment. The material becomes a message in itself, encouraging viewers to consider how they consume information, media, and identity. The perforations serve not just as a nod to underground drug culture but as a device that dismantles the sterile clinical distance of pharmaceutical packaging. Ben Frost and the Language of Visual Irony Ben Frost, an Australian contemporary artist, has made a career out of weaponizing logos, mascots, and visual trademarks. Through satirical juxtaposition, he addresses addiction, overconsumption, and the contradictions of modern branding. With Cialis Le Pew, he continues this trajectory by turning a prescription drug box into a visual metaphor for desire and farce. The artwork challenges the passive viewer, inviting questions about how intimacy and commodification intersect. It is both a punchline and a statement—a collision of cartoon innocence and adult marketing that leaves a lasting visual impact.

Exploring the Essence of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork represent a vibrant and dynamic fusion of underground street culture with pop art's colorful and bold aspects. This unique blend has emerged as a significant movement within the contemporary art scene, capturing the essence of urban life and its pulsating energy. The movement is characterized by its rebellious spirit, often breaking free from the constraints of traditional art forms and expressing a raw, unfiltered view of society. White Washed Purple Tag HPM Mixed Media Unique by Saber The piece titled "White Washed Purple Tag HPM Mixed Media Unique" by the artist Saber is a quintessential example of this art form. Saber, a renowned American graffiti artist, Ryan Weston Shook, has played a pivotal role in bringing graffiti and street art into the gallery space. Born in 1976, Saber remains an influential figure in the street art community, known for his distinctive style that often features a dynamic use of color, bold tags, and an edgy aesthetic that resonates with the ethos of street culture. The artwork itself is a hand-painted marker on fine art paper that exudes street art's raw energy and spontaneity. The mixed media piece is part of a unique original series comprising an edition of 40 hand-drawn mixed media works. Saber's use of spray paint, acrylic paint, markers, and permanent markers culminates in an artwork that is visually striking and tactile in its layered application of materials. The piece's dimensions, a modest 6x8, may seem small, but the impact of the artwork is substantial. The compact size encapsulates the immediacy of graffiti art, where space is often at a premium, and artists must convey their message concisely and powerfully. The thick fine art paper serves as a testament to the durability and permanence of the art form, much like the walls that bear the weight of urban storytelling. Artistic Significance and Cultural Impact Saber's "White Washed Purple Tag" is a testament to the cultural impact of street pop art and graffiti artwork. By taking the art from the alleys and train cars onto fine art paper, the artist has elevated the perception of graffiti, allowing it to be appreciated as a form of social commentary and as a legitimate and sophisticated art form. The mixed media aspect of the piece showcases the versatility and innovativeness of street artists, who often have to adapt to various environments and use available materials. The technique of whitewashing, often used by city authorities to cover up graffiti, is reappropriated in this piece to serve as a canvas, creating a stark contrast with the vibrant purple tag. This reclamation symbolizes street artists' struggle in their quest for recognition and the right to public space. The purple tag, a signature of Saber's work, is not merely a name but a statement of identity, a bold declaration of existence in a constantly changing and evolving world. In the context of modern pop art, Saber's work is a bridge between street culture and high art, reflecting the changing attitudes towards what is considered valuable and worthy of attention in the art world. His works are collected and admired for their aesthetic appeal and their ability to capture the zeitgeist of an increasingly urbanized, digitized, and diverse generation. The presence of this piece within the collection of mixed media works serves as a reminder of the transformative power of art. It celebrates individuality and creativity, encouraging viewers to look beyond the surface and find beauty in the messages and stories often overlooked or dismissed. The "White Washed Purple Tag HPM Mixed Media Unique" is not just an artwork; it is a piece of cultural history, a slice of urban life, and a beacon of artistic rebellion.

Standing 7 inches tall and 4 inches wide, the figure features Chueh’s unmistakable bear character reimagined in fiery red, wearing a black hoodie emblazoned with a devil dog graphic and the word Possessed, paired with oversized headphones. This fine art sculpture arrives boxed in a custom-designed display package that mirrors the figure's brooding silhouette and subdued posture. With hands tucked into his hoodie and a stare that reflects both intensity and introspection, the figure taps into the emotional atmosphere of lo-fi culture while grounding itself within the visual and philosophical framework of Street Pop Art & Graffiti Artwork. Design, Posture, and Attitude in Chueh’s Devil Bear The character in The Devil Likes Lo/Fi is calm yet emotionally heavy, caught in a moment of isolation that feels deeply familiar. The bear’s red vinyl body symbolizes temptation, rebellion, and discomfort, softened by the relaxed shape of the hoodie and the universal symbol of personal space: a pair of headphones. The blend of casual clothing and stark character design echoes themes of disconnection and inner retreat. The simple black-on-red contrast and minimalist sculpting highlight Chueh’s commitment to emotional clarity over complexity. This figure is not about narrative—it is about presence. It radiates the feeling of being alone but not lost, withdrawn but still engaged with the quiet rhythm of low fidelity music and thought. In this sense, the toy embodies the kind of inner-world expression that defines Street Pop Art & Graffiti Artwork, using iconography and stylization to communicate deeper emotional truths. Luke Chueh’s Expanding Universe of Emotional Objects Luke Chueh, based in Los Angeles, continues to be one of the most compelling figures in modern designer toy culture and Street Pop Art & Graffiti Artwork. His ability to distill complex emotional experiences into deceptively simple characters has established him as both a visual storyteller and a sculptor of silence. The Devil Likes Lo/Fi is a continuation of Chueh’s exploration into mood, perception, and the aesthetics of withdrawal. With subtle design cues and an emphasis on posture over expression, this piece joins a long lineage of bears and devils used by Chueh to externalize the internal. His work transforms pop figures into cultural touchstones for psychological reflection, and with this edition, he brings contemporary audio culture into conversation with his ongoing visual language of melancholy and solitude. Collectibility and Conceptual Resonance in Street Pop Art Form As a limited edition of 300, The Devil Likes Lo/Fi functions not only as a collectible but also as a sculptural reflection on modern emotional states. The figure's stillness, the headphone motif, and its choice of color all reinforce its narrative of personal space, lo-fi rhythm, and quiet rebellion. Packaged with precision and conceptually bound by Chueh’s visual language, this figure stands out as a meditation on being present without performance. Its small scale amplifies its message, embodying the idea that meaningful expression often comes not through loudness, but through controlled, crafted subtlety. In the broader context of Street Pop Art & Graffiti Artwork, this sculpture is a physical playlist of emotion—rendered in vinyl, wrapped in symbolism, and waiting to be understood in silence.

"Jamie has been one of my biggest influences, and I'm honored that we worked on some collaborative images for the show. The new images deal with the mutual interests of Jamie and I, addressing the timeless problems of corruption and wealth inequality, but tie into the current themes of Occupy Wall Street and the dead end of fossil fuel consumption." -Shepard Faire.y Shepard Fairey's Collaboration with Jamie Reid in Street Pop Art The "Shoplifters Welcome Silkscreen Print" is a remarkable intersection of street pop art and political commentary, created by the influential Shepard Fairey in collaboration with Jamie Reid. This limited edition hand-pulled screen print on cream speckletone art paper is a testament to the potency of visual art as a tool for social critique. Released as part of Jamie Reid's Ragged Kingdom exhibition from March 16 to April 14, 2012, this artwork resonates with anti-establishment and dissent themes common in street pop art and graffiti artwork. Shepard Fairey, renowned for his OBEY campaign and the iconic Obama "Hope" poster, has a history of infusing his work with sharp political insights. The artwork in discussion depicts a hand removing laws from a briefcase, a direct inference to the deregulation of Wall Street and the unshackling of financial institutions from legal constraints. This visual metaphor conveys the message of wealth inequality and corruption, both highly relevant to the zeitgeist of the early 2010s, especially in the Occupy Wall Street movement. Artistic Expression of Sociopolitical Issues The collaborative nature of this artwork, involving both Shepard Fairey and Jamie Reid, underscores a shared commitment to addressing pressing societal issues through art. Fairey's statement about the collaboration highlights their mutual interest in tackling the "timeless problems of corruption and wealth inequality," themes that are also deeply embedded in the philosophy of street pop art. The artwork becomes a canvas for discourse, echoing the sentiments of public protests and movements that call for justice and economic reform. In creating the "Shoplifters Welcome" piece, Fairey and Reid tap into the legacy of street pop art's ability to reach a broad audience. Street pop art, often found in public spaces, speaks directly to the masses, unfiltered by the gatekeeping of traditional art venues. Though housed within the confines of an exhibition, this print carries the spirit of street art by being a piece of graffiti artwork that one can own—a symbol of both rebellion and commodification. The limited edition nature of the print, being one of only 450, adds a layer of exclusivity to a piece that speaks about wealth disparity, creating an exciting tension between the artwork's message and its status as a collectible item. Each print, signed and numbered by Fairey, is a piece of art and a statement about the artist's role in society—as an observer, a critic, and a participant in the cultural dialogue about power and money. This artwork, sized 18x24, encapsulates a period of intense socio-political activism, serving as a historical document that captures the essence of the early 2010s. The stark imagery, reminiscent of propaganda art, is both a nod to the past and a commentary on the current state of affairs. It draws a parallel between the actions on Wall Street and the broader issues of regulatory oversight and the power imbalance, which remain relevant in discussions about the economy and governance. In the larger context of street pop and graffiti artwork, Shepard Fairey and Jamie Reid's "Shoplifters Welcome" print is a powerful reminder of art's role in society. It bridges the gap between aesthetic appeal and social commentary, functioning as a visual manifesto that calls for reflection and action. The piece is not merely an artwork to be viewed but a conversation starter, a call to arms, and a historical artifact.

  • An Act of Faith HPM Acrylic Spray Paint Silkscreen Print by Faile

Faile An Act of Faith HPM Acrylic Spray Paint Silkscreen Print by Faile

An Act of Faith HPM Acrylic Spray Paint Silkscreen Print by Faile Screen Print on Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Pop Street Art Artwork. 2025 Signed & Numbered Spray Paint, Ink & Acrylic Paint HPM Embellished Limited Edition of 24 Artwork Size 25x38 An Act of Faith by Faile An Act of Faith is a hand-painted multiple silkscreen print created by the Street Pop Art collective Faile, executed in 2025 in a limited edition of 24. Each print measures 25 by 38 inches and is individually signed and numbered. The artwork is a hybrid visual tapestry constructed using silkscreen ink, spray paint, and acrylic hand embellishment on fine art paper. Its vivid imagery and comic-inspired text panels present a layered critique of media, gender identity, and the construct of self-perception. This piece continues Faile’s legacy of transforming vintage commercial design into complex visual puzzles that interrogate popular culture. Iconography and Satirical Power An Act of Faith presents an aesthetic rooted in mid-century pulp comics, twisted with modern irony and subversive commentary. The central image features a man gazing into a dressing room mirror, surrounded by fractured reflections of women, a wolf, and disembodied pop culture references. The phrase Who am I? I can’t tell which is the real Faile reinforces the identity distortion that plays across the surface. Each character is stylized with bold outlines, saturated color fields, and meticulous brushwork added post-screening, transforming the uniformity of the silkscreen process into a collection of unique variants. Faile, formed by Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller, began their collaborative work in the early 2000s in the United States. Their projects often use found iconography, commercial typography, and nostalgic aesthetics to challenge consumerism, masculinity, and mass production. This print extends that method through its satirical reference to mass media with phrases like Art That Respects Your Intelligence and The Most Puzzling Story You’ve Ever Seen. These slogans mimic vintage comic book advertisements but are reappropriated to critique visual culture. Print Process and HPM Technique An Act of Faith is printed using a traditional silkscreen process, a hallmark of Pop Art that channels the commercial reproduction techniques famously employed by artists like Andy Warhol. However, Faile distinguishes their method by employing HPM, or Hand-Painted Multiple techniques. Each piece is enhanced with layers of acrylic and spray paint after printing, resulting in a vibrant and textured finish. This process ensures that no two works are exactly alike, blurring the boundaries between print edition and painting. Cultural Commentary in Street Pop Art & Graffiti Artwork Faile’s work exists at the confluence of fine art, urban decay, and consumer critique. An Act of Faith takes the format of a comic book cover and reconstructs it into a statement about authenticity, perception, and mediated identity. It confronts viewers with the question of who controls the narrative of visual culture—artists, corporations, or consumers. With its blend of nostalgic aesthetics and street art grit, this piece exemplifies the crossover of graffiti’s rebellious roots and pop art’s accessible critique. As part of the 2025 limited series, it reflects the evolution of street pop art into museum-worthy dialogue, maintaining its roots in public disruption and cultural satire.

Black Graffiti Street Pop Artwork

Depth and Dimension: The Role of Black in Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork

Black as a Powerful Medium in Urban Art

Black, a color that can be both the absence of light and the amalgamation of all pigments in the art world, holds a fundamental place in the street pop art and graffiti genres. Its multifaceted and profound use provides depth, contrast, and definition. In the hands of artists, black is not merely a color; it's an essential component of visual storytelling that can convey various themes and emotions, from the stark and severe to the rich and sophisticated.

Techniques Embracing the Intensity of Black

The techniques used to apply black in urban artwork are as diverse as the artists themselves. It can be found in the sharp lines of stencils that cut through the noise of colorful backdrops or in the swirling shadows that give murals a sense of life and movement. Black often outlines figures and shapes, making them pop from their surroundings and granting them an arresting visual clarity. In addition, the texture of black paint or ink can range from a matte finish that absorbs light, creating a void-like effect, to a glossy sheen that suggests a sleek, modern aesthetic. Culturally, black carries significant weight. It can symbolize rebellion or conformity, chaos or order, nothingness, or the complex integration of all that is colorful. In street pop art and graffiti, black is commonly associated with the underground, the edgy, and the avant-garde. It is the color of the night, the urban, and the unknown. Black's ability to make other colors stand out while still commanding its presence makes it a powerful tool for artists seeking to challenge norms and make bold statements.

Compositional Balance and Boldness with Black

In composition, black's role is unparalleled. It offers an anchor within the artwork, a point of return for the eye amidst the visual excitement of brighter hues. Using black can balance a piece, adding a sense of stability and grounding. However, it also has the power to dominate, to turn a multicolored mural into a monochromatic statement, or to bring a sense of solemnity and gravity to street pop art and graffiti pieces. The future of black in street pop art and graffiti artwork looks as solid as the color itself. As urban art continues to evolve, the applications and symbolism of black are likely to deepen and diversify. New materials and methods will expand the range of textures and finishes available to artists, from the blackest blacks that absorb nearly all light to reflective surfaces that play with the urban environment's illumination. In street pop art and graffiti, black is a foundational element, a color as essential as the spaces it adorns. It is a color that speaks in whispers and shouts, a color that refuses to be silent, and a color that, paradoxically, brings the vibrant world of urban art to life. Whether used with precision or with wild abandon, black remains a testament to the enduring power and versatility of color in the hands of those who seek to transform the cityscape into a canvas of personal expression and public engagement.
