Le Tigre Limited Edition 8-Color Hand-Pulled Silkscreen Print on 250gsm Stonehenge Fine Art Paper by Chris Saunders Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. 2016 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 100 Artwork Size 24x24 Le Tigre Silkscreen Print by Chris Saunders "This piece is an evolution of a piece I did a few years ago that originated as a sketch. I was experiencing a massive shift in my life at the time. I was feeling a pull away from my career as a commercial artist to focus on my own art and I had a lot of fear coming up for me. Usually, when I experience these shifts I do my best to get out of my head and trust my inner guidance. That inner guidance tends to mold those experiences into the form of different animal forms that guide me through that transition. To me, the tiger represents primal instinct and being able to let go and trust yourself and fully trust your intuition. This piece looks about 100 times more amazing when you see it in person, the pics don't really highlight the layers and textural quality of all the inks used." - Chris Saunders

Chris Saunders is a contemporary artist known for his unique approach to graffiti art and pop art. He was born in South Africa in 1972 and began his artistic career in the early 1990s as a graffiti artist, creating large-scale murals and street art throughout the city of Johannesburg. Saunders' work is characterized by its bold, colorful designs and his use of popular culture icons and imagery. He often incorporates elements of pop art, such as bright colors and bold, graphic images, into his graffiti art pieces. In addition to his work as a graffiti artist, Saunders is also an accomplished painter and sculptor. He has exhibited his work in galleries and museums around the world, including the Johannesburg Art Gallery, the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington D.C., and the Tate Modern in London. Saunders' work is widely recognized for its vibrant energy, playful spirit, and its ability to bridge the gap between graffiti art and pop art. Through his unique style and innovative approach, he has become one of the most influential contemporary artists working today, and his work continues to inspire and captivate audiences around the world. Chris Saunders' artistic style is deeply influenced by his South African roots, as well as by the global pop culture that he encountered growing up. One of Saunders' most notable works is his series of "African Queen" sculptures, which are inspired by traditional African masks and feature colorful, intricate designs. These sculptures celebrate the beauty and diversity of African cultures, while also challenging stereotypes and promoting a more inclusive vision of the world. Saunders has also worked on a number of collaborative projects with other artists, designers, and musicians. For example, he collaborated with the South African fashion brand Loxion Kulca to create a line of streetwear featuring his bold, graphic designs. He has also worked with musicians such as Black Coffee and Spoek Mathambo to create music videos and visual art installations that explore themes related to African identity and culture.
