The show was called “This Is Not The Art You Are Looking For” A lot of my work for that particular show was exploring the state of the economy. Almost as if the economy was this tangible thing. I love comics and superheroes so I thought this to be a beautiful dichotomy. A “hard on his luck” superhero has no work, so he must go to work at Walmart. The initial drawing and design took about a week. To paint it took another week." - Denial Denial is a Canadian artist who experiments with aerosol and stencil art, while his main fields of interest are consumerism, politics and the human condition in today’s society. Since the culture of graffiti was gaining more and more popularity in the US and Europe, the taggers had to be increasingly original in order to stand out. The signatures became bigger, more stylized and more colorful.
