John Baizley is an American artist, musician, and singer-songwriter who was born on July 15, 1976, in Lexington, Virginia. He is best known for his intricate and highly-detailed illustrations, which have been featured on album covers, concert posters, and merchandise for numerous bands, including his own band, Baroness. Baizley's artistic style is heavily influenced by the natural world, as well as by the work of artists such as Alphonse Mucha and Gustav Klimt. His illustrations often feature complex and interlocking patterns, as well as intricate line work and delicate shading. In addition to his work as an artist, Baizley is also a musician and singer-songwriter. He formed Baroness in 2003 and has been the band's lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist ever since. Baroness has released several critically acclaimed albums, including "Red Album" (2007), "Blue Record" (2009), "Yellow & Green" (2012), and "Gold & Grey" (2019). Baizley's art has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver, Colorado, and the Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Netherlands. He continues to be an active artist and musician, and his work has had a significant impact on both the metal and visual art worlds.
