The exquisite quality of this piece is immediately evident, achieved by employing individual metal plates for each color, a traditional and meticulous process that ensures the vibrancy and depth of the print. Aardvark Letterpress in Los Angeles, California, known for its exceptional letterpress work, is the printmaker behind this piece, lending its longstanding craftsmanship to Yerena's contemporary vision. The use of 100% cotton paper not only provides a luxurious texture but also serves as a nod to the artist’s dedication to quality and sustainability. In "Flowering Dignity Colibri," the interplay of color and form is striking. The central motif, a mandala-like floral pattern, is flanked by two hummingbirds, symbolizing agility, vitality, and resilience. These elements are set against geometric shapes and patterns that add a sense of movement and depth to the composition. The warmth of the colors used in the floral pattern contrasts with the cool tones of the background, creating a visual pop that's characteristic of pop art’s attention-grabbing style. This piece sits at the intersection of pop art, street art, and graffiti art, carrying forward the rebellious spirit and the bold aesthetics of these movements. Yet, it remains distinct in its embodiment of the artisanal letterpress technique, demonstrating how traditional methods can converse with contemporary art forms. Yerena Montejano’s "Flowering Dignity Colibri" stands as a piece of resistance and celebrates cultural heritage, inviting viewers to find beauty and strength in its intricate layers and the message it conveys.

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Alice Bag Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY
Alice Bag 3-Color Hand-Pulled Limited Edition Silkscreen Print on Fine Speckletone Art Paper by Shepard Fairey x Melanie Nissen Rare Street Art OBEY Pop Artwork Artist. 2022 Signed by Shepard Fairey & Melanie Nissen, Numbered 18x24 inches. Screenprint on thick cream Speckletone paper. Numbered edition of 550. "I was very excited to meet and collaborate with Melanie Nissen because, as co-founder of Slash magazine, she photographed some of the most important figures and moments in the early LA punk scene—a scene that dramatically impacted me as a creative person. Nissen’s new book of her punk photos from 1977-1980, Hard+Fast, is beautifully designed and full of amazing images. After some serious deliberation, I decided I’d like to make an illustration of Alice Bag. I first encountered Alice Bag as a teen in Penelope Spheeris’ documentary “The Decline of Western Civilization,” but The Bags did not put out a lot of music, and it was hard to find. However, in reading books about the LA punk scene like “We Got The Neutron Bomb” and “Lexicon Devil,” as well as the Slash magazine book, I realized that Alice was a very important figure in the LA scene who has continued to make great music and is an outspoken champion of LatinX and feminist causes. She’s also a very nice person. I’m glad to celebrate Alice for her contributions to culture then and now. If you are unfamiliar with The Bags, I’d recommend picking up “All Bagged Up… The Collected Works 1977-1980.” – Shepard

JC Rivera El Trooper Star Wars Silkscreen Print by JC Rivera
El Trooper Star Wars Silkscreen Print by JC Rivera Hand-Pulled on Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Screenprint Artwork. 2013 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 50 Artwork Size 18x24 Silkscreen Print Star Wars Sci-Fi Movie Storm Trooper Mask Face Stylized. El Trooper Star Wars Silkscreen Print by JC Rivera El Trooper Star Wars silkscreen print by JC Rivera is a striking fusion of sci-fi iconography and street pop art & graffiti artwork. This hand-pulled screenprint, produced in 2013, transforms the classic stormtrooper helmet into an intricate, stylized composition filled with bold colors and elaborate patterns. Signed and numbered in a limited edition of 50, this 18x24-inch artwork merges the recognizable aesthetic of Star Wars with the raw energy and cultural influences of contemporary urban art. Rivera’s signature artistic approach is evident in the design, making this piece a standout within both the Star Wars and street art communities. The Artistic Composition and Cultural Influences Rivera’s interpretation of the stormtrooper helmet departs from its traditional sleek, monochromatic look, instead infusing it with organic, swirling patterns that evoke the feel of hand-carved masks and folk art. The vivid color palette, featuring deep reds, yellows, greens, and blacks, adds a dynamic, almost tribal energy to the piece. The intricate detailing within the contours of the helmet mimics the ornate patterns often found in tattoo art and indigenous design, creating a piece that is both familiar and completely reimagined. The use of strong black outlines and layered inks gives the print a textured quality that reflects the physicality of hand-pulled screenprinting. This method enhances the artwork’s boldness, ensuring that each line and pattern stands out against the fine art paper. The result is a stormtrooper helmet that feels less like a piece of sci-fi armor and more like a living, breathing entity—an emblem of rebellion, culture, and artistic evolution. Rivera’s choice to reinterpret this iconic character through the lens of street pop art & graffiti artwork elevates it beyond fan art, positioning it within a larger artistic movement that embraces reinvention and cultural storytelling. Street Pop Art & Graffiti Artwork Meets Star Wars Star Wars has long been a source of inspiration in street pop art & graffiti artwork, with its themes of resistance, authoritarianism, and individualism resonating deeply within urban art culture. The stormtrooper, as a symbol of faceless conformity, is frequently reimagined by street artists seeking to subvert its original meaning. Rivera’s version of the helmet takes this idea further by transforming it into something highly personal and expressive. The ornamental patterns covering the faceplate reject uniformity, suggesting a break from control and an embrace of artistic freedom. The use of street pop art techniques, including high-contrast color blocking and stylized linework, connects this piece to the larger graffiti and street art tradition. The stormtrooper helmet, originally designed to be void of emotion, is now alive with character, reflecting the essence of rebellion found both in the Star Wars universe and in the urban art movement. Rivera’s reinterpretation allows the viewer to see the stormtrooper not as an anonymous soldier, but as an individual entity, filled with identity and purpose. The Collectibility and Impact of the Limited Edition Print As part of a limited edition of only 50, El Trooper Star Wars silkscreen print is a highly sought-after piece among collectors of both Star Wars memorabilia and contemporary street pop art & graffiti artwork. The 18x24-inch format allows for Rivera’s intricate details to be fully appreciated, while the hand-pulled screenprinting process ensures that each piece retains a unique, tactile quality. The rarity of this print adds to its desirability, making it not just a work of art but a statement piece that bridges the gap between pop culture and fine art. JC Rivera’s ability to fuse sci-fi iconography with street pop art aesthetics showcases his skill in pushing artistic boundaries. By transforming a universally recognized symbol into something deeply personal and culturally resonant, he challenges the viewer to reconsider the role of pop culture within contemporary urban art. This print is not just a tribute to Star Wars—it is a testament to the power of artistic reinvention, proving that even the most established imagery can be reshaped through the lens of street art.

While my graffiti is generally limited to the street, I decided to showcase three original canvases exclusively for 1xRUN.As an artist, I have deep and passionate respect for the forefathers of the Pop Art Movement. Some of my greatest influence has come from Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. They planted the seeds in the latter part of the 20th century which changed people's perception of art. It's remarkable when a handful of individuals can spawn a revolution that will continue for many years to come, well into the 21st century. They created a paradigm shift in how art was to be interpreted and became the legendary masters." - Sen2

Estevan Oriol Estevan Oriol LA Fingers Black Spray Paint Can Artwork by Montana MTN
Estevan Oriol- LA Fingers Black Limited Edition Rare Spray Paint Can Artwork Crossover by famous graffiti paint maker Montana MTN. Estevan Oriol LA FINGERS, 2021 Limited Edition of 500 Montana Spray Paint Can Color: Black Estevan Oriol is an internationally celebrated professional photographer, director and entrepreneur. Beginning his career as a club bouncer turned tour manager for popular Los Angeles–based rap groups Cypress Hill and House of Pain, Oriol developed his passion for photography while traveling the world. He began documenting life on the road and established a name for himself amid the emerging hip-hop scene. In 1995, Chicano street photographer Estevan Oriol held a now-famous photo session in which he asked a Latina model with a fierce set of claws to arrange her bling-gilded fingers in the shape of two letters: L and A. Her black, pillowy lips pouting in the background, the image presented a mesmerizing, defiant symbol of West Coast pride. It reclaimed the typography of the Hollywood sign and it reimagined the Dodgers’ interlocking L.A. symbol. Not since the palm tree, the smoggy freeway or the lonely Hockney swimming pool had one image so succinctly captured the essence of Los Angeles — inaccessible and forbidden until Oriol (with its full blessing) delivered it to us.
