Lebo

David "Lebo" Le Batard, known simply as Lebo, is a Cuban-American artist born in 1972 in New York City. He was raised in South Florida, which heavily influenced his artistic style. Lebo is known for his distinctive "Postmodern Cartoon Expressionism," which combines elements of street art, cartoon imagery, and abstract expressionism. Lebo's work is characterized by bold colors, strong lines, and an eclectic mix of subjects and symbols, often incorporating text or inspirational phrases. He draws inspiration from a wide range of sources, including music, philosophy, pop culture, and his own Cuban heritage. His unique visual language has made him a popular artist for live painting performances, murals, and collaborations with various brands and events. Lebo has worked on several high-profile projects throughout his career. Some of these include designing the hull artwork for the Norwegian Cruise Line ship, Norwegian Getaway, as well as collaborating with brands like Google, Harley-Davidson, and Adidas. He has also created artwork for major music festivals like Lollapalooza and has painted live alongside musicians like the Beastie Boys, Pharrell Williams, and Thievery Corporation. Lebo's artwork can be found in galleries and private collections around the world, and he continues to be a prominent figure in the contemporary art scene.
