Sheer Art Attack Ink Drawing on Fine Art Paper by Derek Hess graffiti street artist modern original art. 2014 Signed Framed Original Ink Drawing Artwork Size 15x17 "My first batch was done in 2010/2011 and showed during the World's Largest Crappie Festival in Water Valley Mississippi, that was awesome. All are were made using pen, ink, and acrylic. My father was a B-26 pilot and my dad helped instill the interest in the subject. Two of the pieces feature a rock bass morphed with a B-26. These are completely different from what I normally do, whatever 'normal' means. Anyway, these were just a lot of fun to do. Whereas some of the intense pieces that I do I feel I have to do, as to purge it from my system, which works half the time (I tend to carry that stuff with me). I wanted to do these for fun and are a great distraction." - Derek Hess

  • Minnie Period 12 Original Stencil Painting by Jeff Gillette

Jeff Gillette Minnie Period 12 Original Stencil Painting by Jeff Gillette

Minnie Period 12 Limited Edition Hand-Embellished HPM 9-Color Aerosol Stencil and Acrylic on Cradled Canvas Gallery Wrap by Jeff Gillette Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. 2020 Signed Original Stencil Spray Paint Acrylic Painting Artwork Size 20x24 The "Minnie Period 12 Hand Stencil Original Canvas" by Jeff Gillette is a significant piece in the realm of pop, street, and graffiti art. Characterized by its use of iconic imagery intertwined with gritty urban landscapes, it stands as a vivid commentary on consumer culture and societal decay. Jeff Gillette, an acclaimed American artist, has been dubbed as "the man who destroys Disneyland," as he frequently utilizes familiar and nostalgic Disney figures juxtaposed against dystopian backdrops in his art. In this particular piece, the recognizable figure of Minnie Mouse is manipulated in an unconventional graffiti stencil style, emphasizing the essence of street art in its rawest form. The "Period 12" refers to Minnie's untimely Menstruation and the painting number. Gillette infuses this piece with a paradoxical blend of innocence and bleakness. This contrast not only critiques our media-saturated society but also invites viewers to question the impact of corporations on our shared cultural consciousness. With its unfiltered portrayal of the tension between popular culture and reality, the "Minnie Period 12 Hand Stencil Original Canvas" by Jeff Gillette stands as a powerful exemplar of modern pop and street art.

Even watching people play video games was magical to me when I was growing up. My older brothers did most of the playing because I was no good, but the games were magical. You could live, adventure, race, fight and make friends in these alternate worlds. I guess that’s why I love video games and art so much till this day. You get to create worlds and live in them and escape from reality. Real-life is stressful and sometimes is too much. I love to escape through my art and video games." - Jordan Mendenhall

  • Sale -25% Lady With Sphinx Original Oil on Linen Painting by Aaron Nagel

Aaron Nagel Lady With Sphinx Original Oil on Linen Painting by Aaron Nagel

Lady With Sphinx Original Painting Oil On Linen Mounted To Wood With Frame by Aaron Nagel Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. 2015 Signed Original Oil Painting Framed by Aaron Negal Measuring 26x30 "'Lady With a Sphinx" was humbly modeled after the Leonardo DaVinci painting, "Lady With An Ermine." It is my second attempt at a painting modeled after a classic, the first being my version (of Bouguereau’s version) of the Piéta. I have always liked "Lady With An Ermine;" the lighting on the figure, the stark background, the lettering in the upper left-hand corner, and of course, the Ermine (because what the fuck is an ermine?!)Trying to get the reference photo looking similar was a challenge, but an enjoyable one, as I never have a concrete idea of how I want a reference to look, so there tends to be a lot of trial and error. This time, I messed with it until the pose and lighting were right, then just took a few hundred pictures there, with very subtle pose and expression changes. This piece was painted for the “Three Figures” exhibition at Maxwell Alexander Gallery in June of 2014. It was a 3-man show, with Jeremy Mann, Sean Cheetham, and myself. They are two of my favorite artists, so it was a huge honor to show with them." - Aaron Nagel

Eddie Colla Cacophony Laser Cut Acrylic Archival Print by Eddie Colla

Cacophony Hand-Painted Multiple Archival Pigment Print on 3 Tiers of Laser-Cut Acrylic Panel ready to hang by Eddie Colla Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. 2020 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 25 Laser Cut Acrylic Artwork Size 18x18 "The Goldfish Girl was created almost a decade ago. I often revisit it, and she has been the longest continuing character I've created. I often write backstories for these characters to help me create the pieces, but they are generally never shared with the viewer. The Goldfish Girl was born in mainland China and raised mostly by a single father. Her mother passed away when she was 18 months old from cancer. She was often very ill as a child and was eventually diagnosed with a compromised immune system disorder, although a precise diagnosis was never given. This is the reason for always wearing the mask and gloves. Her father bred Goldfish for a living and taught her that trade as a kid. They worked side by side and rarely had visitors because of her condition. Often being extremely ill and also losing her mother made her childhood difficult. As most children do, she tried to find a reason for her misfortune, a reason for why all this had happened to her and her father. Eventually, she believed that her illness and her mother's cancer were punishment by nature. A curse for toying with nature by breeding goldfish. Eventually, her father passed away as well. Needing to make a living and also to taunt fate she illegally immigrated to Hong Kong. There is a famous goldfish market in Mong Kok on Tung Choi street, but it's commonly called goldfish street. With a compromised immune system the most dangerous thing to her was other people. As a challenge to fate, she moved to one of the most densely populated cities in the world. She got a stall on Tung Choi Street. This is her challenge, to taunt fate and win, becoming the master of her own fate. These images are vignettes of her life in Hong Kong. I've never given the character a name. Sometimes she is pictured with a boombox because music becomes a central companion to her mostly solitary life. In the piece Cacophony I wanted her to literally be surrounded by the city. In some way, I think I tried to create a character that embodied a lot of traits I aspire to. To remind me.” - Eddie Colla

  • Ceci N'est Pas Une Peter Griffin Original Spray Paint Mixed Media Painting by Shark Toof

Shark Toof Ceci N'est Pas Une Peter Griffin Original Spray Paint Mixed Media Painting by Shark Toof

Ceci N'est Pas Une Peter Griffin Original Painting Acrylic & Aerosol on Canvas by Shark Toof Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. 2014 Signed Orignal Spray Paint Mixed Media Painting Artwork Size 27x19 "This new body of work is a blend of my graffiti roots, where I developed my unique voice. At the same time, there's also an aspect of this work that is " not taking yourself too seriously, vandalizing your icons," Shark Toof said while preparing in Detroit. "I like Detroit because it is very do-it-yourself, and I am a very do-it-yourself artist, so it is a great fit for me."-Shark Toof The Artistic Dialect of Shark Toof: Subverting Pop Culture Icons Shark Toof's "Ceci N'est Pas Une Peter Griffin" is a compelling piece that showcases the artist's deft blend of graffiti roots with the playful irreverence of modern pop art. Created in 2014, this original painting embodies Shark Toof's unique voice, a voice he has cultivated through his deep connections with the street art movement. This artwork, measuring 27x19 inches, is a striking example of his mixed media mastery, incorporating acrylic and aerosol on canvas. In this piece, Shark Toof engages with the familiar iconography of pop culture, specifically the well-known character Peter Griffin from the animated sitcom "Family Guy." However, in true street art fashion, Shark Toof takes this familiar image and subverts it, adding layers of meaning and challenging the viewer's perceptions. The title, a nod to René Magritte's famous work, plays with the idea of representation and reality, encouraging viewers to question what they see. The painting's mixed media approach is characteristic of street pop art, which combines various techniques and materials to create dynamic visuals. Shark Toof's use of bold colors and exaggerated features captures the essence of graffiti art's impact while paying homage to pop art's stylized aesthetics. His work does not shy away from humor or satire; instead, it embraces these elements to deliver a more profound commentary on the nature of celebrity, fandom, and the art world itself. In the context of street pop art and graffiti artwork, Shark Toof stands out as an artist who embodies the DIY spirit of the genre. His affinity for cities like Detroit, with their rich industrial pasts and vibrant street art scenes, speaks to his commitment to the grassroots nature of his craft. Shark Toof's work, including "Ceci N'est Pas Une Peter Griffin," is a visual feast and a testament to the transformative power of street art in the modern era. Through his art, Shark Toof continues to push the boundaries of street pop art, showcasing its potential to be both playful and piercingly insightful. His ability to navigate the intersection of street art and fine art while maintaining a sense of authenticity and approachability ensures that his work resonates with a broad spectrum of art enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Bask Wolf Like Me Original Acrylic Painting on Wood by Bask

Wolf Like Me Original Painting Acrylic on Mixed-Media Reclaimed Wood Panel by Bask Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. “The esthetic of my work is similar to the Detroit landscape. The re-purposed nature of my art plays off of panels, wood, signs, that once were proudly displayed. But over the years they stopped serving their intended purpose and thrown out. The inspiration behind the work I made for this show was Detroit's strengths, struggles, and landscape. I took the opportunity to move to Detroit fourteen years ago, but for a number of reasons beyond my control, my stay lasted only 4 years. However, that was long enough for the city to have a profound impact on my work as well as my consciousness towards social and political issues. And even though I haven't called Detroit home in 9 years, the impression it stamped on me is something I hope I never lose. And it was this appreciation for the influence that DETROIT has had on me, that inspired the work I made for the show.” -Bask

Stanley Mouse California Dreams Art Book & Original Drawing by Stanley Mouse

California Dreams- Book & Original Drawing of Mouse Drawing Person, The Art of Stanley Mouse Hardcover Limited Edition Art Book by Stanley Mouse. 2015 Signed Original hand drawing on the first page in graphite pencil of a mouse-person hybrid drawing a stick figure, Stanley's logo, and his large signature. Drawing measures about 15x10 California Dreams Art Book & Original Drawing by Stanley Mouse is a definitive anthology charting the influential career of Stanley Mouse, a visionary artist whose psychedelic visuals became emblematic of the 1960s cultural revolution. Spanning over five decades, this extensive collection comprises 240 pages of Mouse's diverse and unceasingly inventive portfolio. Mouse gained acclaim for his arresting poster art, album covers, and T-shirt designs that he frequently created in partnership with Alton Kelley during San Francisco's cultural heyday and continued well into the 1970s. His work from this period encapsulates the vibrant ethos, exploratory spirit, and creative freedom of the era's shifting currents. Yet, "California Dreams" goes beyond Mouse's renowned contributions to the counterculture movement. It traces back to his roots in Detroit, where he honed his craft on hot rods and produced original airbrushed shirts and posters featuring fantastical creatures and flamboyant automobiles. His recent ventures into the fine arts are also showcased, revealing arresting landscapes and poignant figure studies that signify a new chapter in his artistic journey. The collection presents previously unpublished works, offering a rare view of the early stages and evolution of Mouse's most celebrated pieces, alongside insights into his archives. This book not only commemorates Mouse's legacy in the visual arts but also celebrates the breadth and depth of his enduring artistic expression. "California Dreams" stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Stanley Mouse, an artist whose work has become a cornerstone of the pop art movement and whose influence can be seen across street pop art and graffiti artwork. This hardcover art book is not only a celebration of Mouse's storied career but also a showcase of his dynamic range as an artist, featuring his iconic illustrations that have captured the California spirit and the broader American imagination. What sets this limited edition book apart is the original hand-drawn illustration by Stanley Mouse himself on the first page. The graphite pencil drawing of a mouse-person hybrid engaged in drawing a stick figure is a whimsical self-reference and a nod to the artist's whimsical and subversive takes on popular culture. The Mouse, a recurring character in Mouse's work, is depicted with human-like features and expressions, adding a personal touch that blurs the lines between artist and artwork. Stanley Mouse's signature style, characterized by its fluid lines and psychedelic overtones, is evident in this drawing, measuring approximately 15x10 inches. His large, distinctive signature anchors the piece, a mark of authenticity and a symbol of his contributions to the art world. The book "California Dreams" and the accompanying original drawing provide a unique insight into the creative process of one of the greats in pop art. It's a collector's piece that captures the essence of an era defined by its boldness, rebellion, and artistic innovation. The legacy of Stanley Mouse continues to inspire street pop art and graffiti artists as they carry forward the torch of creating vibrant, engaging, and deeply connected to the cultural zeitgeist.

Her technique involves using acrylics—a medium known for its bright, opaque colors and quick drying times—allowing for the dynamic and layered compositions that have become her signature. The "Tanuki Fighter" is a testament to her skill in manipulating this medium, resulting in a visual spectacle that is as much a fine art piece as an emblem of pop culture. The "Tanuki Fighter" is an original acrylic painting on fine art paper by Nicole Gustafsson, whose work has significantly influenced street pop art and graffiti artwork. This particular piece, created in 2014, is a quintessential example of Gustafsson's unique aesthetic, which merges the whimsy of pop art with the raw edge of street art, creating a distinctive and recognizable oeuvre that has captivated a global audience. Depiction and Symbolism The painting depicts a tanuki, a creature often found in Japanese folklore, known for its mischievous spirit and shapeshifting abilities. Gustafsson has given this mythical creature a contemporary twist, portraying it as a fighter with a determined expression and a fighting stance. The choice of a tanuki as the subject matter is a nod to the playful and often fantastical themes prevalent in street pop art while also embodying graffiti artwork's transformative and rebellious spirit. The tanuki is presented in a simplistic yet expressive style, with attention to the textural details that give the character a lifelike presence. Its pose and attire are reminiscent of a sumo wrestler, adding a layer of cultural reference and humor to the piece. Using a monochromatic color scheme for the tanuki against a contrasting vibrant green background emphasizes the figure, drawing the viewer's eye directly to the subject. Composition and Framing "Tanuki Fighter" is not just notable for its subject and style but also for its presentation. The original image, measuring 3x3 inches, is custom framed and matted to an overall size of 8.5x8.5 inches. This deliberate framing choice highlights the artwork's intimacy and intricacy. The piece's scale, when paired with the boldness of its content, plays with the viewer's perception, demanding a closer look and personal engagement with the work. The framing choice also speaks to Gustafsson's understanding of her artwork's role as standalone pieces and as part of a larger narrative in someone's living space. A framed piece of art carries a different weight and presence compared to unframed street art, and "Tanuki Fighter" bridges these two worlds, bringing the raw energy of street art into the curated environment of home galleries. Cultural Impact and Collectibility As an original piece by a famous street graffiti artist, "Tanuki Fighter" holds significant value for collectors and enthusiasts of street pop art. Original works represent a tangible connection to the artist's vision and narrative, offering an authentic slice of the culture and era that produced it. Moreover, the piece's status as a one-of-a-kind artwork elevates its desirability, making it a sought-after item for those looking to own a piece of contemporary art history. The work's uniqueness is further solidified by Gustafsson's hand in its creation, with the artist signing the piece. This assures its authenticity and marks it as an integral part of Gustafsson's artistic journey. Collectors of such pieces often view them as investments, not just in financial terms but also as cultural artifacts that capture the essence of a particular artistic movement or style. In summary, Nicole Gustafsson's "Tanuki Fighter" embodies the playful spirit and cultural blending that defines street pop art and graffiti artwork. Its clever use of folklore, combined with a modern aesthetic and presentation, makes it a standout piece that captures the imagination and reflects the evolving nature of contemporary art. As an original, signed, custom-framed piece, it holds a special place within Gustafsson's body of work and the broader context of street-inspired art.

Exploring the Depths of Craww's Hollow Breath "Hollow Breath," a captivating original artwork by the acclaimed street graffiti artist Craww, is a poignant example of how the raw energy of street pop art & graffiti artwork can be channeled into more traditional fine art mediums. This one-of-a-kind piece, created in 2013, is a symphony of charcoal and acrylic on a cradled wood panel, showcasing the artist's adeptness with both materials. The 23.5x31.5 inches artwork provides a generous space for Craww's dark, dreamlike vision to unfold. Signed by the artist, "Hollow Breath" captures the essence of Craww's signature style, which often features ethereal female figures enmeshed with elements of nature. The painting explores recurrent themes in his work: the duality of beauty and melancholy and the intricate dance between life and death. The charcoal lends a softness to the painting, allowing for subtle gradations and depth, while the acrylics bring a vibrancy that pierces through the monochromatic veil. Technique and Symbolism in Craww's Hollow Breath In "Hollow Breath," Craww's use of charcoal and acrylic paints is not merely a choice of preference but a deliberate decision to convey complex emotional states. The charcoal, with its smoky and diffuse quality, creates a sense of impermanence and fragility, echoing the transient nature of life. Meanwhile, the acrylics, known for their boldness and clarity, highlight the painting's focal points, such as the lilies and roses, symbols of purity and passion. The cradled wood panel serves as an ideal substrate for this piece, its solidity starkly contrasting the delicacy of the imagery. This juxtaposition reflects the contrasts found throughout Craww's work, where strength and vulnerability often coexist. The wood's texture adds an organic feel to the piece, grounding it in the natural world that frequently influences Craww's art. Craww's Unique Position in Contemporary Art Craww is uniquely positioned in contemporary art, bridging the gap between the often separate worlds of street art and fine art. "Hollow Breath" is a testament to his ability to navigate these realms, bringing street art's immediacy and authenticity into a format traditionally associated with galleries and museums. The originality of this painting and its readiness to hang make it not just a work of art but a statement piece ready to grace the walls of an art connoisseur. The sad beauty of "Hollow Breath" resonates with those familiar with Craww's work in public spaces. Yet, it also stands alone as a powerful piece of fine art, inviting interpretation and admiration from viewers who may or may not be acquainted with his street art. This versatility and broad appeal make Craww's work particularly compelling within the contemporary art scene. "Hollow Breath" encapsulates the haunting allure of Craww's artistic vision, merging the fluidity of charcoal with the intensity of acrylics on a canvas as enduring as wood. This original painting is a striking example of how street pop art & graffiti artwork can transcend their urban roots to create fine art that is both profound and accessible, carrying the power to move and mesmerize within the quiet walls of an interior space.

  • Goonie 030 Original Watercolor Painting by Naoto Hattori

Naoto Hattori Goonie 030 Original Watercolor Painting by Naoto Hattori

Goonie 030 Original Watercolor Art Painting on Framed Fine Art Paper by Surreal Artist Naoto Hattori. 2013 Signed Original One-of-a-Kind Watercolor Painting Framed Artwork Frame Size 8.5x8.5 Image Size 3x3 Custom Framed & Matted By Artist. The Singular Essence of Naoto Hattori's Goonie 030 In the vast landscape of contemporary art, there lies a particular niche where the surreal and the concrete converge. Here, the creations of Naoto Hattori resonate with a peculiar vibrancy, a kind of street pop art that blurs the lines between the urban graffiti art movement and the fantastical realms of the imagination. The 'Goonie 030' original watercolor art painting is a quintessential embodiment of this confluence. The work, created in 2013, is an original signed piece by Hattori, celebrated for its one-of-a-kind presence in the art community. The 'Goonie 030' piece explores the intimate interplay between the medium of watercolor and the surreal artistic impulses that characterize Hattori's oeuvre. The framed artwork, with an image size of 3x3 inches, is a window into a world that defies the ordinary, encapsulating a moment of creative genius in a compact space. The frame size of 8.5x8.5 inches houses the art in a manner that draws the eye inward, focusing the viewer's attention on the intricate details of the painting. Custom framed and matted by the artist himself, 'Goonie 030' is presented in a way that enhances its visual impact. The choice to personally frame the work suggests a level of intimacy and care that Hattori imparts to his pieces. This act of framing is not merely a practical measure but a continuation of the creative process, ensuring that the presentation complements the artwork's thematic content and aesthetic value. Naoto Hattori's Vision in Watercolor Naoto Hattori's work often transcends the conventional boundaries of street pop art and graffiti artwork, and 'Goonie 030' is no exception. The watercolor medium allows fluidity and softness that contrasts with graffiti art's often bold and stark lines. Yet, this very dichotomy elevates the piece, allowing it to speak the language of street art through a whisper rather than a shout. The subtle tonal gradations and the gentle pooling of hues in 'Goonie 030' demonstrate Hattori's deft hand and ability to convey depth and emotion within a confined space. While distinctively surreal, the subject of 'Goonie 030' maintains a passionate connection with the viewer that is frequently sought after in street pop art. The character depicted in the painting, with its endearing yet enigmatic features, serves as a conduit for personal interpretation, much like the transient and often interpretative nature of graffiti art murals adoring city walls. This piece, therefore, becomes a kind of visual poetry, a small stanza in the larger narrative of Hattori's artistic expression. Street Pop Art and the Intimate Scale The trend within street pop art and graffiti artwork has often leaned towards grandiosity in scale, with large murals and installations dominating the scene. However, 'Goonie 030' challenges this trend through its diminutive size, proving that impactful art is open to more than large canvases. In its compact form, this original watercolor painting invites a closer, more personal interaction, akin to reading a novel as opposed to viewing a billboard. In this intimate engagement, the viewer can truly appreciate the meticulous skill and delicate nuances that Hattori has woven into the work. The framing and matting performed by the artist serve to honor the personal scale of the piece, creating a boundary that distinguishes the artwork from the vastness of its surroundings. In a way, this echoes the ethos of street art, which often seeks to carve out a space for individual expression within the public sphere. 'Goonie 030', though housed within the private confines of a collector's domain, carries the spirit of street art in its very essence. The creation of 'Goonie 030' is a testament to Naoto Hattori's versatility as an artist capable of easily traversing the realms of street pop art, graffiti artwork, and surrealism. Through thl watercolor painting, Hattori invites viewers to reflect on the potential of small spaces to hold vast worlds within them. The work stands as a singular statement in the canon of contemporary art. This piece encapsulates the beauty and complexity of Hattori's vision, rendered with the grace and precision that only watercolor can afford.

Artistic Significance of "Goonie 041" Within Contemporary Art The significance of "Goonie 041" within the contemporary art scene lies in its juxtaposition of the meticulous technique of watercolor with the unpredictable nature of surreal subject matter. Hattori's skillful brushwork brings to life the textures and nuances of the figure, providing a stark contrast to the surreal elements that make his work distinctive. The composition of the piece, centered within the square frame, draws focus to the surreal figure, compelling the viewer to contemplate the story behind the image. Hattori's work, including "Goonie 041," contributes to a larger conversation about the intersection of various art forms and the ways in which artists can communicate complex ideas through diverse mediums. The painting's existence within a traditionally framed context does not diminish its connection to the more transient and public expressions found in street art. Instead, it highlights the versatility of surrealist art to find a home across a spectrum of settings and formats. In conclusion, Naoto Hattori's "Goonie 041" is a fine example of contemporary surrealism that shares an undercurrent with street pop art and graffiti artwork. The piece encapsulates the artist's profound connection to a deeper artistic narrative, one that delves into the realms of the surreal and the subconscious.
