The piece, crafted in 2022, showcases not only the artist's commitment to highlighting pressing global issues but also his refined expertise in blending different artistic mediums. At the heart of this artwork is a lone figure, attempting to navigate an urban expanse with a vivid, broken blue umbrella as his shield. The deep blue, reminiscent of the planet's boundless oceans and skies, stands in stark juxtaposition against the monochromatic city background. This backdrop, depicting a graffiti-laden wall, offers a raw depiction of urban decay, further accentuated by the figure's shadowy presence. Amid the chaotic jumble of spray paint and scribbles, certain inscriptions like "Protect eARTh" and "I LOVE EARTH" boldly emerge, acting as poignant reminders of the work's central theme. With "Protect the eARTh HPM 2", Hijack embarks on a quest to bridge the seemingly disparate worlds of urban decay and environmental conservation. This 1 of 1 unique hand-embellished edition, limited to just ten silkscreens, spans a canvas measuring 22.5x30 inches, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and reconsider their relationship with the environment. Every brushstroke and silkscreen imprint echoes Hijack's signature style, culminating in a piece that is as thought-provoking as it is visually arresting.

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Open Minds Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Open Minds 4-Color Hand-Pulled Limited Edition Silkscreen Print on Cream Speckletone Art Paper by Shepard Fairey Rare Street Art OBEY Pop Artwork Artist. Signed & Numbered Screen Print OPEN MINDS 36 inches by 24 inches Edition of 675 February 3, 2022 Handling Creases to Bottom Left & Right Margins. This “Open Minds” print references the language used by the powerful fuel industry lobby to soften political and public resistance to fracking. Fracking is a form of gas extraction which beyond the carbon impact of the gas itself, contaminates groundwater, pollutes the air, and creates strains on water resources because of the high volume of water required for the fracking process. Open-mindedness about any of those detrimental impacts of fracking and other fossil fuel extraction is absurd if one cares about the environment, air and water quality, and global warming. Powerful corporations and their lobbyists spend exorbitant sums to distract from and discredit the science-based conversation about the environment. I’m all for open minds and open eyes when it comes to putting science and the welfare of the planet before corporate profits. A portion of the proceeds from this print will benefit Greenpeace to support its work to enhance environmental protections and combat climate change. – Shepard

I’m not anti- Second Amendment, so trolls can calm down… I’m not interested in macho blathering, I just want fewer people to die unnecessarily. War By Numbers VSE- OG Colorway Variable Stencil Edition Acrylic Artwork on Hand Deckled Fine Art Paper by Street Artists Shepard Fairey x Ernesto Yerena Montejano x Hecho Con Ganas x Obey. 2022 War By Numbers VSE- OG Colorway 20x26.5 inches. Signed & Numbered Ultra Rare Edition of 14. Variable Stencil Edition (VSE) on Paper. Signed by Shepard Fairey, Hecho Con Ganas publishing chop in the lower-left corner. "Created during the Iraq war, but the quest for peace requires perpetual vigilance, and the current invasion of Ukraine is a reminder of the brutality of war. The “War By Numbers” image is a statement about not becoming desensitized by war to the extent that it becomes as banal as a paint-by-numbers image. The “Peace Elephant” is an appeal to our sense of Karma and harmony with the world around us." - Shepard Fairey A profound intersection of artistry and activism emerges in "War By Numbers VSE- OG Colorway," an emblematic piece presented by the collaborative brilliance of Shepard Fairey, Ernesto Yerena Montejano, Hecho Con Ganas, and Obey. Showcased on meticulously hand-deckled fine art paper, this 20x26.5 inch artwork not only exemplifies the prowess of its creators but also delves deeply into the social and political fabric of contemporary global scenarios. Dated 2022, this piece holds the distinction of being an ultra-rare Variable Stencil Edition (VSE) on paper, with only 14 such editions in existence, each one thoughtfully signed and numbered. Notably, the presence of the Hecho Con Ganas publishing chop in the lower-left corner augments its authenticity and intrinsic value. While the artwork itself is a marvel of color interplay and design, its underlying message is both timeless and urgent. Shepard Fairey's own words elucidate the motivation behind its creation, highlighting its inception during the Iraq war. Yet, its resonance extends beyond that particular conflict. The piece emerges as an enduring reminder of the costs of warfare, particularly with the poignant backdrop of the recent Ukraine invasion. Fairey astutely draws attention to the dangers of becoming inured to the horrors of conflict, suggesting that society must never allow war's devastation to become as commonplace and mundane as a paint-by-numbers image. This sentiment is further emphasized by the inclusion of the "Peace Elephant," symbolizing the universal aspiration for harmony and an appeal to humanity's collective conscience. In the vast realm of pop art, street art, and graffiti, "War By Numbers" stands as a testament to art's ability to transcend aesthetic appeal, challenging viewers to confront and engage with the world's most pressing issues.

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Eyes On The King Verdict Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Eyes On The King Verdict 4-Color Hand-Pulled Limited Edition Silkscreen Print on Fine Speckletone Art Paper by Shepard Fairey x Ted Soqui Rare Street Art OBEY Pop Artwork Artist. 2022 Signed by Shepard Fairey & Ted Soqui, Numbered 18x24 inches. Screenprint on thick cream Speckletone paper. Numbered edition of 600. "I based this “Eyes on the King Verdict” print on photos taken by Ted Soqui during the LA riots of spring 1992. Ted has a long history of photographing activists and protests, which began after the “not guilty” verdicts on April 29, 1992, for the four officers who severely beat Rodney King. I especially love the central pic of a young woman protester in a Malcolm X hat contemplating the scene. I think it is important to consider the symbolic weight of the Rodney King verdict and the emotional impact on communities of color seeking justice and accountability. At the time, 30 years ago, I remember feeling enraged that such a blatant act of police brutality was going unpunished when it was captured on video. It is heartbreaking how frequently similar acts of violence and abuse of power by law enforcement have gone unpunished, even when caught on camera. I don’t ever condone violence or looting, but I understand why LA erupted in riots and protests after the King verdict. When people feel that the American system has failed them repeatedly, things can reach a boiling point. The urge to protest injustice and the right to do so are legitimate, even if looting is not legitimate. The LA riots were a tragic mixture. However, beware of those who try to conflate protest with “criminal agitation” or “inciting a riot.” When the system fails the people, it is nothing short of patriotic for the people to protest for a solution. Ted Soqui and I both signed the “Eyes on the King Verdict” print.” – Shepard

  • While Supplies Last Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Shepard Fairey- OBEY While Supplies Last Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

While Supplies Last Hand-Pulled 4-Color Silkscreen Print on Cream Speckletone Fine Art Paper by Artist Shepard Fairey Limited Edition Pop Art Artwork. 2019 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 500 Artwork Size 24x12 “The “While Supplies Last” print is a combination of several approaches to image making that I enjoy, and also find versatile and impactful. I have worked in modular ways utilizing repetition for both practical and conceptual reasons. I like the soothing repetition of patterns while I also see them as a pleasing decorative device to balance the more confrontational nature of some of my messages. Flowers have been consistent motifs in my work as symbols of positive growth and harmony. Humor is also a way I deliver challenging statements. “While Supplies Last” employs all of those approaches to basically convey the idea that things like flowers that we mostly take for granted will be sorely missed when the scorched planet will no longer grow them. Of course, the concept extends much further than just flowers, but flowers are a pretty universally relatable symbol. Whatever you treasure from nature, protect it so their supply is renewable. A portion of proceeds from this print will benefit Greenpeace USA to support its efforts to combat climate change and environmental recklessness.” -Shepard Fairey Shepard Fairey's work is highly political and social, not only because he is incorporating politicians and slogans in it but more importantly because the artist is primarily interested in approaching as many people as possible, exhibiting his work in the covers of the books, which we read, in the music albums, to which we listen, and on the walls of the streets, where we walk. “If I put art in a daring spot, it’s more moving to the viewer and demonstrates my conviction.”, he says. After all, Fairey, in many cases, directly expresses his views on politics and society, whenever he is given the chance. For example, in the aftermath of the “Hope” poster, he commented the following: “Obama has had a really tough time, but there have been a lot of things that he's compromised on that I never would have expected. I mean, drones and domestic spying are the last things I would have thought [he'd support]”. The political aspect of his work can, also, be seen under the spectrum of Fairey’s activism and humanitarian activity. Many of his works have been created as part of activism campaigns or were sold to support causes relevant to the Arts, animal rights, poverty, medical research, the environment, etc. The artist, however, doesn’t identify himself as an activist: “People ask me if I’m an activist, and my answer is no. I’m an artist with a point of view, but I want to do my part to supplement activist causes I believe in. I feel fortunate to connect with people who find my imagery useful and help spread it.”

Dulk's artistry is rooted in his experiences traveling the globe, where he gathers inspiration from the wonders of nature and the diverse wildlife he encounters. Environmentalism in Street Pop Art "Expedition Hope" is not merely an aesthetic endeavor; it carries an environmental message that aligns with the ethos of contemporary street pop art and graffiti artwork. The print's title suggests a narrative of exploration and conservation, echoing Dulk's passion for raising awareness about preserving our planet's ecosystems. The artwork invites the viewer to embark on a visual expedition, encouraging contemplation of humanity's role in safeguarding the diversity of life. Artistic Contribution and Impact Dulk's work, including "Expedition Hope," reflects his multifaceted approach to art, encompassing sketches, paintings, sculptures, murals, and museum exhibitions. This piece, in particular, introduces his upcoming book, which aims to capture the full spectrum of his artistic practice from 2017 to 2022. Dulk's "Expedition Hope" is a remarkable addition to the street pop art and graffiti art field, encapsulating the artist's dedication to craft, storytelling, and environmental activism. The print is a snapshot of Dulk's artistic journey and a beacon of hope, embodying the power of art to inspire change and reflect the beauty of the natural world. Hijack Protect the eARTh Silkscreen Print by Hijack

Protect the eARTh Hand-Pulled 4-Color Silkscreen Print on Fine Art Paper by Pop Graffiti Artist Hijack Rare Street Art Limited Edition Artwork. 2022 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 50 Artwork Size 22.5x30 Silkscreen of Man With Broken Blue Umbrella Walking By Graffiti Wall. Hijack's "Protect the eARTh" serves as a profound reflection on the intersection of urban life and environmental consciousness. Crafted in 2022, this artwork, confined to a limited edition of 50 pieces, demonstrates the artist's knack for capturing the zeitgeist of our contemporary world. Spanning a canvas of 22.5x30 inches, the print communicates a tale both intimate and universal through its evocative imagery. A key component of the composition is the solitary figure, navigating an urban landscape with a broken blue umbrella. This umbrella, damaged yet still fulfilling its role, is emblematic of the Earth's resilience in the face of human-induced challenges. Its vibrant blue color, a symbol of the planet's vast waters and clear skies, contrasts starkly with the gritty, grayscale urban setting. The backdrop, an old graffiti wall, underscores the impermanence of human endeavors. Amidst the myriad of tags and markings, the words "Protect eARTh" and "I LOVE EARTH" stand out, echoing the piece's overarching theme. Through these seemingly random but carefully chosen scribbles, Hijack emphasizes the importance of cherishing and preserving our environment. "Protect the eARTh" is more than a captivating visual; it's an urgent plea. While it draws from the aesthetics and ethos of pop graffiti art, the piece transcends the genre, becoming a universal statement about our collective responsibility towards the planet. In this print, Hijack masterfully converges the immediacy of street art with a timeless message, creating a poignant reminder of the world's fragility and our role within it.

Between the Supreme Court, partisan gerrymandering shaping state legislatures, and the filibuster as a tool of obstruction in Congress, we are already facing tyranny by the minority. The forces dominating our politics do not reflect the values of most Americans. A contemporary masterpiece, this large-format print, sized at an impressive 30x41, is a testament to Fairey's impeccable craftsmanship and profound insight into social issues. A product of the year 2022, the AR-15 Lily, alongside its counterpart, the AK-47 Lotus, reflects Fairey's inspiration from the iconic Vietnam War protesters. These brave souls, in a symbolic gesture of peace, would insert flowers into the gun barrels of the National Guard, who were present to curtail their passionate calls for peace. Shepard Fairey, a renowned graffiti street artist, is known for intertwining pop culture, street art, and pressing social issues in his works, and this piece is no exception. His choice of a 4-color serigraph technique for this limited edition of 100 pieces exudes exclusivity and class. The print, meticulously crafted on Custom Cotton Coventry Rag Paper, evokes feelings of nostalgia and the age-old conflict between violence and peace. Fairey’s perspective, as he expresses, is deeply pacifistic. His work is not just an artistic expression but a call for diplomacy and harmony, both on international terrains and domestic fronts. While he does not challenge the Second Amendment, his emphasis is on reducing unnecessary deaths due to gun violence. In a world where the lines between art and activism often blur, Fairey's commitment to supporting causes shines through. A portion of the proceeds from this artwork, for instance, aids Brady United, an organization dedicated to preventing gun violence. The AR-15 Lily is not just a piece of art; it's a bold statement, a call for reflection, and a testament to Fairey’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace. "The AK-47 Lotus and AR-15 Lily large format serigraphs are inspired by Vietnam War protesters who would put flowers in the gun barrels of the National Guard who were brought in to suppress their protests for peace. I’m a pacifist, whether that means finding diplomatic solutions to prevent and avoid war internationally or finding diplomatic solutions to prevent and avoid gun violence at home. I’m not anti- Second Amendment, so trolls can calm down… I’m not interested in macho blathering, I just want fewer people to die unnecessarily. Brady United is doing good work preventing gun violence so they will receive a portion of proceeds from these two prints. Thanks for caring." -Shepard Fairey

It’s an incredible honor to create art and to be connected to a band that has provided so much inspiration, energy, and sheer pleasure for me over the years. This poster is signed by Glen, me, and HR! Keep that PMA (Positive Mental Attitude)! –Shepard

Print Fine Art Graffiti Street Pop Artwork

Print Art in the Context of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork

Concerning Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork, print art represents a dynamic and influential medium that has played a crucial role in the dissemination and evolution of these art forms. Historically, printmaking has been a vital tool for artists to reproduce their work efficiently and accessibly, allowing them to reach a broader audience. In street and pop art, print art encompasses various techniques, including screen printing, stencil printing, and lithography, each offering unique possibilities for artistic expression and mass distribution. This medium has enabled artists to challenge traditional notions of art, bringing their work from the streets to the galleries and vice versa.

Evolution and Techniques of Print Fine Art in Street and Pop Art

The evolution of print art within the street and pop art genres is marked by its adoption by iconic artists like Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, who utilized screen printing techniques to create vibrant, high-impact images. This approach allowed for the repetition of bold graphics and bright colors, typical of pop art aesthetics. In street art, printmaking techniques, especially stenciling, became instrumental for artists like Banksy and Shepard Fairey. Stencils allowed for quick, reproducible designs that could be executed rapidly in public spaces. These techniques not only facilitated a more efficient way of producing art but also contributed to the signature styles of these artists, making their work instantly recognizable. The journey of print art within street and pop art has been one of innovation, adaptation, and significant influence. Iconic figures like Andy Warhol and Keith Haring played pivotal roles in this evolution. Warhol, a leading figure in the pop art movement, revolutionized the concept of art production through his use of screen printing. His technique, characterized by the repetition of photographic images and the use of bold, vivid colors, challenged traditional notions of originality and artistic genius. This approach was perfectly aligned with the pop art movement's ethos, which sought to blur the lines between 'high' art and 'low' cultural imagery, often derived from mass media and consumer culture. Keith Haring, another seminal artist, leveraged print art to create dynamic, high-energy works that were accessible and relatable. His art, often filled with simple yet impactful imagery, was rooted in the street culture of New York City. Haring's use of bold lines and bright colors became synonymous with the visual language of the 1980s and left a lasting imprint on the pop art landscape. His work also exemplified the democratizing power of print art, as he often produced prints of his work to make it more accessible to a broader audience.

Print Art's Impact on Accessibility and Distribution

One of the most significant impacts of print art in Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork is its role in democratizing art. By enabling mass production, print art has allowed street and pop artists to distribute their work widely, challenging the exclusivity of traditional art forms and galleries. This accessibility has been essential in shaping public perception of street and pop art, transforming them from subcultural expressions to respected and sought-after art forms. Furthermore, the affordability of prints has made it possible for a broader audience to own and engage with art, breaking down barriers between the artists and the public. Print art has served as a vehicle for mass communication and cultural critique in street and pop art. The ability to produce multiple copies of a single image has allowed artists to reach a wider audience, spreading their visual messages far and wide. This aspect of print art aligns well with the ethos of street and pop art, which often comment on consumerism, political issues, and societal norms. The replication of images in print art echoes the mass-produced nature of consumer goods and media imagery that these art movements often critique.

Print Fine Art Contemporary Trends and Future Directions

Print art stands at the crossroads of tradition and innovation in the current artistic milieu. Digital technology has ushered in a new era for printmaking, allowing artists to infuse time-honored techniques with cutting-edge processes. This fusion has created hybrid works that blur the lines between analog and digital, handcrafted and machine-produced, tangible and virtual. Such innovations reflect the fluid nature of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork, where staying static is not an option, and evolution is the norm. Artists entrenched in street pop art and graffiti are redefining the scope of print art by incorporating elements of 3D modeling, digital collage, and algorithmic design. The textures, colors, and forms that were once exclusive to the digital realm are now being translated into physical prints, expanding the artists' visual vocabulary and offering new experiences to the audience. As these digital techniques become more sophisticated, the ability to manipulate images and create complex layers has resulted in prints that are not only artworks but also technical marvels. Integrating augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) with traditional print art is another frontier being explored. AR-enabled prints can transform static images into interactive experiences, engaging viewers in a multisensory journey.

Similarly, VR can take the essence of a print and expand it into an immersive environment, allowing the audience to step into a world crafted by the artist. These developments are expanding the canvas for artists and redefining the relationship between the artwork and the viewer. Environmental sustainability is also shaping the future of print art. As the world becomes more ecologically conscious, artists are seeking ways to reduce the environmental impact of their work. This has led to exploring eco-friendly inks, recycled materials, and alternative energies in creating prints. The street pop art and graffiti scenes, which have always had a dialogue with the urban environment, are now extending this conversation to the planet's wellbeing, making art that speaks to societal issues and treads lightly on the earth. The democratization of art through digital platforms has significantly impacted print art. Social media and online galleries have made it easier for artists to showcase their work and for collectors to discover and acquire new pieces. This accessibility breaks down the barriers between artists and audiences, fostering a global community of creators and enthusiasts. The ease of sharing and selling prints online not only boosts the visibility of artists but also contributes to the cultural and economic vitality of the art market.

Looking forward, print art is poised to embrace even more radical transformations. Biotechnology and materials science advances could lead to living prints that change over time, grow, or even respond to their environment. Exploring space and celestial bodies as new canvases for art is another realm that printmaking could venture into. The ethos of street pop art and graffiti, with their roots in challenging the status quo and pushing boundaries, aligns perfectly with these forward-thinking prospects. In the grand tapestry of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork, print art continues to be a thread that weaves the past and future together. It stands as a testament to the resilience and adaptability of these art forms, evolving to meet the moment while never losing sight of their foundational principles. As technology progresses and society changes, print art will undoubtedly remain at the forefront of artistic innovation, capturing the imagination of artists and audiences alike for generations to come.

The Enduring Legacy of Print Art in Modern Art Movements

The enduring legacy of print art in Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork lies in its ability to amplify the artist's voice and reach a diverse audience. Its influence extends beyond art creation to social and political activism, where prints have often been used for communication and protest. As artists continue to explore and reinvent printmaking techniques, the medium remains a vital component of these vibrant and ever-evolving art forms. Print art, with its rich history and innovative future, continues to be a testament to the power of art to transcend boundaries and connect people across different cultures and backgrounds. Print art's continued evolution and adaptation within street and pop art underscore its significance in these genres. As new technologies and materials emerge, artists find innovative ways to incorporate printmaking into their work, pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved visually and conceptually. Digital printing, for example, has opened up new possibilities for complexity, precision, and experimentation in color and form. The journey of print art in street and pop art is a testament to these artistic movements' dynamic and ever-changing nature. From Warhol's screen prints to Banksy's stenciled walls, print art has been instrumental in defining the visual and conceptual landscape of street and pop art. It continues to be a vital medium for artists to express their visions, engage with audiences, and comment on the world around them.
