Rubikcubism Graffiti Street Pop Artwork
Rubikcubism is an art form that involves creating images or designs using Rubik's Cubes. Each cube is manipulated to display a specific color pattern on its surface, and the cubes are then arranged together to form a larger image or design. The name "Rubikcubism" is derived from the combination of "Rubik's Cube," the famous 3D puzzle invented by Ernő Rubik, and "cubism," an early 20th-century art movement characterized by the use of geometric shapes and multiple perspectives. Artists who work with Rubikcubism, also known as Rubik's Cube artists, use their knowledge of solving the Rubik's Cube to create specific color patterns on each cube. They then arrange the cubes in a grid, either physically or digitally, to create a mosaic-like artwork. This art form requires a combination of skills, including problem-solving, spatial awareness, and creativity. Rubikcubism gained popularity in the early 2000s, and since then, various artists have showcased their work in galleries, online platforms, and social media. Some of the most well-known Rubikcubists include French artist Invader, who is famous for his Space Invader mosaics, and Cube Works Studio, a group of artists based in Toronto, Canada, known for their large-scale Rubik's Cube mosaics.
