  • The Day When Time Stood Still Archival Print by Jana Brike

Jana Brike The Day When Time Stood Still Archival Print by Jana Brike

The Day When Time Stood Still Limited Edition Archival Pigment Prints on 290gsm Moab Rag Fine Art Paper by Jana Brike Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. "The painting title is a complete paradox, of course. It is connected to my perception of reality in meditative states. The actual theme is based both, on the girl-tribe relationship, and loosely on three graces story. It explores what is beauty to me. Beauty is a feeling. It is not to be merely pretty. It includes bravery, and wisdom, and strength, and imperfections that make one unique. Beauty is a feeling, and you need a feeling to perceive it. Beauty is a heart shining out, and you need your heart’s eye open to see it. This piece definitely was more ambitious than any of my previous work. More detailed. Also, before this one, I rarely if ever painted more than one figure. My characters were always lonely, trapped within their own self-sufficient universe. Starting from this one, relationships between the characters in my work have become more and more important for me." - Jana Brike

  • To Love And To Hold Giclee Print by Bec Winnel

Bec Winnel To Love And To Hold Giclee Print by Bec Winnel

To Love And To Hold Giclee Print by Bec Winnel Artwork Limited Edition Print on Fine Art Paper Graffiti Pop Street Artist. 2014 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 25 Artwork Size 11x16 White Haired Woman with Lilly Flowers. The Alluring Fusion of Florals and Portraiture in "To Love And To Hold" by Bec Winnel "To Love And To Hold," a giclee print by the Australian artist Bec Winnel, presents a compelling blend of portraiture and nature, a common theme within the domain of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork, yet expressed here with a unique finesse. Limited to a collection of 25 signed and numbered editions, the artwork, sized at 11x16 inches, features a white-haired woman with lily flowers, a juxtaposition that evokes themes of purity, beauty, and the delicacy of human emotions. Bec Winnel's Artistic Narrative in Street Pop Art Bec Winnel's contribution to the contemporary art scene is marked by her ethereal and almost otherworldly representations of women, often coupled with elements from nature. "To Love And To Hold" is no exception. Winnel's precise and tender touch breathes life into the paper, creating a texture and depth that might be found in the murals and textures of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork. This print invites the viewer into a narrative woven from the subject's penetrating gaze and the vibrant life of the lily flowers. The interplay between the subject and the lilies in "To Love And To Hold" is significant. Lilies are often associated with devotion, purity, renewal, and rebirth. By juxtaposing these flowers with the woman's gaze, Winnel may suggest a story of enduring love, a moment of contemplation, or a cycle of growth and change. The limited edition nature of the print deepens its value, turning it into a collectible piece that holds not just aesthetic value but also an emotional narrative that resonates with the viewer. Technique and Expression in Winnel's Limited Edition Prints The technique employed by Winnel in her giclee prints ensures that every subtle detail of her original artwork is captured, from the soft hues of the woman's hair to the intricate details of the lily flowers. Giclee printing, known for its high-quality reproduction capabilities, is particularly suited to Winnel's style, which often features soft gradients and delicate shadings that would be lost in lower-quality print methods. "To Love And To Hold" reflects the same attention to detail and expression often found in Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork. While the latter is typically found in urban settings and is characterized by its public display and often bold messages, Winnel's print brings the essence of this artistic expression into a personal and contemplative space. The piece does not shout from a wall but whispers from a frame, allowing for a deeper and more intimate connection with the art. The Lasting Impact of "To Love And To Hold" The lasting impact of "To Love And To Hold" within the broader context of street pop art and graffiti artwork is a testament to the versatility and range of the movement. While Street Pop Art is often associated with urban landscapes and the social and political commentary inherent in graffiti, Winnel's print showcases how the principles of this movement can be translated into different mediums and settings. Her work is a reminder that Street Pop Art is not confined by space or scale but is defined by its ability to touch, engage, and convey meaning. In the hands of those who own a piece of this limited edition print, "To Love And To Hold" continues to be more than just a work of art. It is a portal to a story, an emotion, and a piece of the artist's soul. It is a reminder of the beauty that can be found in stillness, the strength in vulnerability, and the profound connection between humanity and the natural world. As such, Bec Winnel's work is an enduring piece within the ever-evolving narrative of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork, bridging the gap between the intimate and the universal, the private collection and the public spectacle.

  • The Reflection Black Silkscreen Print by Cleon Peterson

Cleon Peterson The Reflection Black Silkscreen Print by Cleon Peterson

The Reflection Black Silkscreen Print by Cleon Peterson on Hand Deckled 290gsm Coventry Rag Fine Art Paper Limited Edition Artwork. 2021 Signed & Numbered Cleon Peterson Limited Edition of 125 Artwork Size 39X16 Silkscreen Print. The Limited Edition Silkscreen Art of Cleon Peterson Cleon Peterson's artistry is a powerful voice in the contemporary discourse of street pop and graffiti artwork. His 2021 creation, "The Reflection," is a testament to his distinct style and thematic concerns. This piece is a limited edition silkscreen print, with only 125 pieces available, each bearing Peterson's signature, which adds to the exclusivity and collectible nature of the artwork. These prints are emblazoned on hand-deckled 290gsm Coventry Rag fine art paper, known for its durability and premium quality, ensuring that each piece retains its depth and texture, which is significant in street art representation. The Aesthetic of "The Reflection" Cleon Peterson's "The Reflection" is visually striking, echoing the high-contrast aesthetic typical of street art. Black silkscreen ink gives the artwork a bold, graphic quality reminiscent of the dynamic visuals found in urban graffiti. At 39x16 inches, the print's substantial size allows viewers to immerse themselves in its stark world. Peterson employs a monochromatic palette, which adds visual impact and underscores the thematic dualities often explored in his work—order and chaos, violence and harmony, and power and subjugation. Peterson's composition places a solitary figure against an expanse of tumultuous landscape, a mountainous terrain that seems both majestic and oppressive. The use of negative space and the sharp delineation between the figure and its environment draws attention to the isolation of the individual within the space, a theme often explored in both street and pop art as they grapple with the individual's place in society. Context and Influence The artistic milieu from which "The Reflection" emerges is rich with historical and cultural significance. Cleon Peterson, an American artist, is renowned for his assertive approach that borrows street and pop art elements. His works do not shy away from the complexities of societal structures, often depicting scenes of conflict and strife that force the viewer to confront the darker aspects of human nature and societal interactions. Peterson's art does not exist in a vacuum but is part of a larger conversation about the nature of modern life and the individual's experience within it. By drawing on the motifs and methods of street art, which is historically linked to subversive and anti-establishment sentiments, Peterson's art challenges viewers to reconsider their perceptions of authority, community, and the self. The graffiti art form's traditional use of public spaces as a canvas is reflected in Peterson's choice to use silkscreen printing, a technique synonymous with the mass production and dissemination of images, thus merging the realms of high art and public discourse. Collectibility and Cultural Impact "The Reflection" is a visual feat and a collector's highlight. Its limited run and Peterson's autograph make each print a coveted piece for enthusiasts of street pop and graffiti artwork. The hand-deckled edges of the Coventry Rag paper offer a tangible connection to street art's hands-on, often rebellious nature, even within the confines of a private collection. The paper's texture and weight add a tactile dimension that elevates the print beyond a mere reproduction; it becomes an artifact, a piece of Peterson's world that one can own and display. In the landscape of contemporary art, Peterson's voice rings clear. His work, "The Reflection," is a powerful commentary on the human condition, society's ills, and the individual's role within the larger narrative. This print, nestled comfortably in the collection of 125, is more than just a visual statement—it is a piece of cultural conversation, encapsulating the ethos of street art's raw, unapologetic exploration of life's gritty realities. Cleon Peterson's art continues to resonate with those captivated by the intersection of street sensibility and pleasing art aesthetics. "The Reflection," with its stark beauty and complex commentary, is a significant piece within his work, offering a somber meditation on the nature of self and society. It bridges the artist's internal reflections and the external world's perceptions, inviting viewers to ponder their place within the ever-shifting tapestry of contemporary life.

Felt Carousel Giclee Print by Bec Winnel Artwork Limited Edition Print on Fine Art Paper Graffiti Pop Street Artist. 2012 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 50 Artwork Size 12x16 Stylized Fashion Clown Young Woman Crying. The Visual Poetry of "Felt Carousel" by Bec Winnel "Felt Carousel," a Giclee print by the renowned Australian artist Bec Winnel, is a stunning visual narrative that embodies the essence of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork. Released in 2012, this limited edition artwork is a treasure trove of emotional depth, signed and numbered to ensure exclusivity for art collectors. Only 50 pieces exist worldwide, each measuring 12x16 inches and printed on fine art paper, a testament to the enduring allure of tactile, physical art in an increasingly digital world. Embracing Vulnerability in Street Pop Art The subject of "Felt Carousel" is a young woman, styled as a fashion clown, with a single tear marking her visage. This image diverges from the often vibrant and aggressive tones associated with graffiti art, offering a moment of vulnerability and introspection. Winnel masterfully blends the whimsy of a carousel, traditionally a symbol of childhood innocence, with the complex emotional state of the woman, creating a layered piece that invites contemplation. The contrast of the woman's tearful expression against the light-hearted motif of the carousel hat suggests a narrative of complexity within simplicity. This approach is emblematic of Street Pop Art's evolution, capable of expressing societal commentary and the profound personal struggles and joys that define the human experience. Contemplating the Subtleties of Street Art and Expression Bec Winnel's "Felt Carousel" print is a poignant reminder that Street Pop Art is not monolithic; it is a diverse and dynamic expression that transcends traditional boundaries. The choice of a Giclee print for this work underscores the importance of quality and longevity in art, ensuring that the delicate nuances of Winnel's pastel palette and the emotional gravity of the piece are preserved over time. In the broader context, "Felt Carousel" contributes to the narrative that Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork are not confined to public displays on urban walls but are also at home in private collections, which can be reflected upon in personal spaces. With its interplay of innocence and sorrow, this print demonstrates the genre's capacity to delve deep into the psyche, proving that street art can be as contemplative and stirring as any classical portrait. A Testament to the Enduring Spirit of Artistic Expression Finally, "Felt Carousel" is a testament to Bec Winnel's ability to evoke emotion and tell a story through her art. The fashion clown motif and the subject's genuine feeling craft a unique narrative open to interpretation yet universally understood. As one of the limited 50 owners of this print, collectors are invited to engage in a silent dialogue with the artwork, contemplating the myriad emotions that it elicits. Bec Winnel, through her sensitive and evocative portrayal of the human condition, continues to make an indelible mark on the world of contemporary art. "Felt Carousel" is not just a print; it is a piece of Winnel's soul, shared with the world, and a reminder that true artistry lies in the ability to elicit feeling and thought through the silent language of imagery.

Reflective Intimacy in "Tyler" by Bec Winnel The "Tyler" giclee print by Bec Winnel, a celebrated Australian artist, is a striking testament to the confluence of Street Pop Art and portraiture on fine art paper. This 2014 signed and numbered limited edition of 25, sized at 10.5x16 inches, offers a mesmerizing close-up of a young woman with blue and white hair. This subject blends contemporary aesthetics with classic finesse. Winnel's work, particularly the "Tyler" print, diverges from the common perceptions of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork, often associated with bold lines and vibrant colors splashed across public spaces. Instead, Winnel brings the essence of this movement into a more nuanced realm, where the subtlety of expression and the depth of gaze speak volumes. The subject's blue and white hair, often seen as a symbol of individuality in modern pop culture, contrasts with her timeless facial features, creating a piece that transcends eras and styles. The choice of giclee printing allows for an extraordinary level of detail, capturing the soft transitions of tone and the delicate textures that characterize Winnel's style. This method of art is synonymous with the highest quality in today's printmaking technology, much like the precision required in creating impactful street art. The limited availability of "Tyler" further emphasizes its value, echoing the often transient nature of street art that, once created, may only exist briefly before it is transformed or erased. While Bec Winnel may not wield a spray can on an alley wall, her artwork like "Tyler" carries the spirit of Street Pop Art into personal spaces, proving that the essence of this genre can manifest beyond concrete and brick. Her work encapsulates the introspective humanity that street artists often seek to express through their public works. The limited edition "Tyler" bridges the gap between the public art typically associated with street and graffiti artists and the private, contemplative experience of engaging with fine art.

Signed and drawn by the artist, the artwork measures 12x16 inches. It is printed on 290gsm Moab fine art paper, a testament to its enduring quality and the artist's dedication to preserving the integrity of her vision. Symbolism and Femininity in Joncas's Work The print, titled 'Medusae,' explores femininity and transformation, depicting a woman whose hair and form are an extension of the sea, with jellyfish-like tendrils that suggest a mesmerizing, if not slightly ominous, aura. Printed on a 300gsm Cotton Moab Entrada Fine Art Paper, the artwork is distinguished by its substantial feel and the ability to hold color with a precision that breathes life into Wiesenfeld's vision. The print, sized at 20x16 inches, is part of an exclusive run of 50, each signed and numbered by the artist, assuring collectors of its authenticity and exclusivity. Wiesenfeld's work stands at the crossroads of contemporary Pop Graffiti and traditional fine art, a path less trodden that he navigates with grace and originality. "Winter Cabin" is a testament to the possibilities that emerge when the boundary-pushing ethos of street art is applied within the context of modern artwork. Despite being more commonly associated with the vibrant, often public executions of graffiti, the spirit of street art can also be found in the stillness of Wiesenfeld's print. It conveys a deeply personal yet universally understood narrative—a hallmark of the most impactful Street Pop Art. The Evocative Imagery of "Winter Cabin" In "Winter Cabin," Wiesenfeld presents a scene steeped in tranquility and mystery. The subject, a solitary figure nestled in the embrace of a wintry landscape, is rendered with a level of detail that invites close inspection. The contrast between the warmth of the human form and the cool detachment of the surrounding environment evokes a sense of introspection, a theme often explored in Street Pop Art, albeit through more boisterous and public avenues. Wiesenfeld's use of light and shadow, the positioning of the figure, and the selection of the environment all work in concert to create a moment suspended in time, reflecting the ephemeral nature of street art and life itself. The limited edition nature of "Winter Cabin" further cements its place within collectible art. As with coveted graffiti, each print holds a fragment of the artist's soul, a piece of a larger narrative spread across the fifty iterations, each as valuable as the next. This scarcity creates a connection between the artist and the owner, similar to the bond formed when encountering a street art piece in its natural urban setting. The signature and numbering by Wiesenfeld not only serve as proof of authenticity but also as an intimate bridge between his creative process and the collector's personal experience with the artwork. Blending Modern Art with Street Pop Sensibilities "Winter Cabin" exists in the liminal space between street art's ephemeral nature and fine art prints' enduring quality. Wiesenfeld's choice of materials ensures the longevity of the print, a contrast to the often-temporary lifespan of street murals and graffiti. However, the spirit of the street is alive in the emotion conveyed through the print. The subject's pose, the intricate patterns that adorn her clothing, and the setting she is placed in all speak to the artist's understanding of the human condition, a theme deeply entrenched in Street Pop Art. This grasp of universal human experiences, coupled with a personal touch, elevates "Winter Cabin" above mere representation; it becomes a piece of storytelling, a visual poem crafted in the language of color and form. Aron Wiesenfeld's "Winter Cabin" is a modern artwork imbued with the ethos of Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork. It encapsulates a narrative that, while rooted in the stillness of a private moment, echoes the dynamic, accessible, and emotionally charged nature of street art. Each limited edition print serves as a gateway to a profound personal journey, a moment of quiet amidst the cacophony of urban life, and a reminder of the soft power art can hold in all its forms.

Woman Female Graffiti Street Pop Artwork

The Representation of Women in Street Pop Art and Graffiti Artwork

The representation of women in street pop art and graffiti artwork has been a dynamic and evolving subject, reflecting the shifts in societal attitudes and the growing consciousness around gender issues. From the provocative works of the 1970s and 1980s to today's more inclusive and diverse expressions, the depiction of women in these art forms has ranged from objectification and idealization to empowerment and celebration. These visual articulations, splashed across public spaces, serve not only as reflections of the artists' perceptions but also as commentaries on women's roles, struggles, and achievements in society. In the earlier days of street art and graffiti, women were often portrayed through the lens of the male gaze, reduced to symbols of beauty or desire within a predominantly male-dominated scene. However, the narrative has shifted as more female artists have entered the arena. Women are now protagonists in these urban tales, depicted as complex and multifaceted beings. The rise of feminist street art has introduced powerful imagery that challenges traditional gender norms and advocates for equality and women's rights.

Women in Urban Art as Icons and Activists

Graffiti Street Pop Art has been an influential and expressive medium used by artists worldwide to convey various messages, ideas, and themes. One prominent topic that has gained momentum in recent years is the representation of women in this urban art form. Graffiti artists have taken to the streets to celebrate, empower, and challenge perceptions of women in society. Female Empowerment: Many artists use graffiti to portray strong, independent women as a symbol of female empowerment. By depicting women in powerful stances or as iconic figures, they challenge societal norms and expectations, promoting gender equality and inspiring other women to break free from stereotypes. Celebrating Women's Contributions: Graffiti artists also use their work to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of women throughout history. By creating murals and street art pieces that honor trailblazing women, they make sure these stories are visible and accessible to the public. This can include highlighting historical figures, activists, artists, or local community leaders. Challenging Objectification: Street art has been used as a medium to challenge the objectification of women in media and advertising. Artists may create pieces that subvert traditional portrayals of women, replacing objectified images with more complex and humanizing depictions. This can stimulate conversations about the ways women are represented in society and the harmful effects of objectification. Female Graffiti Artists: Women have been breaking into the male-dominated graffiti world, creating their distinctive styles and making their mark on the urban art scene. Female artists, such as Lady Pink, Miss Van, and Swoon, have become influential figures within the graffiti community, showcasing their unique perspectives and talents. Collaborative Projects: Various collaborative projects and initiatives have aimed at empowering women through street art. For instance, organizations like Women on Walls and Femme Fierce bring together female artists to create murals and installations focusing on women's issues, rights, and experiences. Graffiti Street Pop Art has become a platform for artists to address and celebrate women's topics, empowering women and challenging societal norms.

The Future of Women in Urban Graffiti Street Art

As the movement continues to evolve, the representation of women in street art will likely continue to grow in prominence and diversity. In recent years, women have become icons and activists through the medium of street pop art and graffiti artwork. Artists like Shepard Fairey's "Obey Giant" campaign, which includes the iconic "Hope" poster featuring a woman of color, have used the image of women to symbolize strength and resilience. Similarly, works by Banksy and other notable street artists have presented women in roles that defy expectations, often with a touch of irony or social critique. Moreover, the streets have become a canvas for celebrating historical and contemporary female figures who have broken barriers and made significant contributions to culture and society. Murals of women such as Frida Kahlo, Rosa Parks, and Malala Yousafzai adorn walls worldwide, serving as sources of inspiration and education for the community. These works often incorporate local cultural elements and women's personal stories within those communities, creating a robust dialogue between the artist, the subject, and the viewers. The representation of women in street pop art and graffiti artwork is as diverse and complex as women themselves. As street art continues to evolve as a platform for social change and artistic expression, the image of women within it will undoubtedly continue to provoke, inspire, and evolve. These artistic expressions beautify urban landscapes and contribute to meaningful conversations about gender, identity, and human rights, reflecting the pulse of societal progress in vivid color and form.
