Aakash Nihalani is a contemporary artist known for his colorful geometric installations and street art. He was born in 1986 in Queens, New York, and grew up in a family of Indian immigrants. Nihalani earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University in 2008. He began working on his distinctive style of geometric art in 2007, inspired by his childhood love of puzzles and mazes. His art typically involves creating brightly colored, 3D shapes using tape and other materials, which he then applies to a variety of surfaces, such as walls, floors, and objects. His works often play with the perception of space and dimension, creating illusions and optical illusions that challenge the viewer's perspective. Nihalani has exhibited his work in galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Seoul Museum of Art. He has also created public installations and murals in cities such as New York, Paris, and Amsterdam. In addition to his art practice, Nihalani has also worked as a freelance graphic designer and art director for clients such as The New York Times, Google, and Nike.
