Abstrk (born Alex DeArmas) is a contemporary artist and muralist known for his bold and dynamic style. He was born in Miami, Florida, in 1986 and grew up in the city's vibrant hip-hop and graffiti scene. Abstrk began his career as a graffiti artist and quickly gained recognition for his unique style that blended traditional graffiti techniques with abstract and geometric shapes. He has expanded his practice to include murals, installations, and paintings. His work often features bright colors and bold shapes and is inspired by various influences, including hip-hop culture, street art, and the natural world. He also uses a signature motif called the "ABSTRK" tag, which appears in many of his pieces. Abstrk's work has been exhibited in galleries and public spaces worldwide, including the Museum of Graffiti in Miami, the Street Art Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and the Art Basel fair in Miami Beach. He has also worked with various clients, including Nike, Red Bull, and the Miami Heat basketball team. In addition to his work as an artist, Abstrk is also an advocate for the arts and an educator.
