Cleon Peterson Freedom/Prosperity At Any Price- Red Silkscreen Print by Cleon Peterson

Freedom/Prosperity At Any Price- Red Limited Edition Hand Pulled 2-Color Screenprint Print on 290gsm Arches Rag Paper with Deckled Edges by Cleon Peterson Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. Hand-pulled 18 x 24" screenprint. Printed on 290gsm Arches Rag paper with deckled edges. Each print is signed and numbered. Limited edition of 125. The visuality of Cleon Peterson's work is based on a variety of influences, from ancient Greek pottery to comics, resulting in monochromacy and strong color symbolism. In more detail, the figures exist on multiple straight lines, something that, subsequently, creates the illusion that the artwork is divided in levels. The perspective and the impression of depth do moderately exist in the art of Peterson and, just like in Greek vases, the background space is usually left empty or slightly embellished.

  • Protect the eARTh Silkscreen Print by Hijack

Hijack Protect the eARTh Silkscreen Print by Hijack

Protect the eARTh Hand-Pulled 4-Color Silkscreen Print on Fine Art Paper by Pop Graffiti Artist Hijack Rare Street Art Limited Edition Artwork. 2022 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 50 Artwork Size 22.5x30 Silkscreen of Man With Broken Blue Umbrella Walking By Graffiti Wall. Hijack's "Protect the eARTh" serves as a profound reflection on the intersection of urban life and environmental consciousness. Crafted in 2022, this artwork, confined to a limited edition of 50 pieces, demonstrates the artist's knack for capturing the zeitgeist of our contemporary world. Spanning a canvas of 22.5x30 inches, the print communicates a tale both intimate and universal through its evocative imagery. A key component of the composition is the solitary figure, navigating an urban landscape with a broken blue umbrella. This umbrella, damaged yet still fulfilling its role, is emblematic of the Earth's resilience in the face of human-induced challenges. Its vibrant blue color, a symbol of the planet's vast waters and clear skies, contrasts starkly with the gritty, grayscale urban setting. The backdrop, an old graffiti wall, underscores the impermanence of human endeavors. Amidst the myriad of tags and markings, the words "Protect eARTh" and "I LOVE EARTH" stand out, echoing the piece's overarching theme. Through these seemingly random but carefully chosen scribbles, Hijack emphasizes the importance of cherishing and preserving our environment. "Protect the eARTh" is more than a captivating visual; it's an urgent plea. While it draws from the aesthetics and ethos of pop graffiti art, the piece transcends the genre, becoming a universal statement about our collective responsibility towards the planet. In this print, Hijack masterfully converges the immediacy of street art with a timeless message, creating a poignant reminder of the world's fragility and our role within it.

  • AK-47 Lotus- Large Format Serigraph Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Shepard Fairey- OBEY AK-47 Lotus- Large Format Serigraph Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

AK-47 Lotus- Large Format Limited Edition Hand Pulled 4-Color Serigraph Print on Custom Cotton Coventry Rag Paper by Graffiti Street Artist Shepard Fairey. 2022 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 100 Artwork Size 30x41 In the rich tapestry of modern art, the AR-15 Lily serigraph by Shepard Fairey holds a distinct place. A contemporary masterpiece, this large-format print, sized at an impressive 30x41, is a testament to Fairey's impeccable craftsmanship and profound insight into social issues. A product of the year 2022, the AR-15 Lily, alongside its counterpart, the AK-47 Lotus, reflects Fairey's inspiration from the iconic Vietnam War protesters. These brave souls, in a symbolic gesture of peace, would insert flowers into the gun barrels of the National Guard, who were present to curtail their passionate calls for peace. Shepard Fairey, a renowned graffiti street artist, is known for intertwining pop culture, street art, and pressing social issues in his works, and this piece is no exception. His choice of a 4-color serigraph technique for this limited edition of 100 pieces exudes exclusivity and class. The print, meticulously crafted on Custom Cotton Coventry Rag Paper, evokes feelings of nostalgia and the age-old conflict between violence and peace. Fairey’s perspective, as he expresses, is deeply pacifistic. His work is not just an artistic expression but a call for diplomacy and harmony, both on international terrains and domestic fronts. While he does not challenge the Second Amendment, his emphasis is on reducing unnecessary deaths due to gun violence. In a world where the lines between art and activism often blur, Fairey's commitment to supporting causes shines through. A portion of the proceeds from this artwork, for instance, aids Brady United, an organization dedicated to preventing gun violence. The AR-15 Lily is not just a piece of art; it's a bold statement, a call for reflection, and a testament to Fairey’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace. "The AK-47 Lotus and AR-15 Lily large format serigraphs are inspired by Vietnam War protesters who would put flowers in the gun barrels of the National Guard who were brought in to suppress their protests for peace. I’m a pacifist, whether that means finding diplomatic solutions to prevent and avoid war internationally or finding diplomatic solutions to prevent and avoid gun violence at home. I’m not anti- Second Amendment, so trolls can calm down… I’m not interested in macho blathering, I just want fewer people to die unnecessarily. Brady United is doing good work preventing gun violence so they will receive a portion of proceeds from these two prints. Thanks for caring." -Shepard Fairey

  • Icarus Democracy Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Icarus Democracy Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Icarus Democracy 3-Color Hand-Pulled Limited Edition Silkscreen Print on Cream Speckle Tone Paper by Shepard Fairey Rare Street Art OBEY Pop Artwork Artist. 2022 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 500 Artwork Size 24x36 "Liberty and equality are principles most people value, but the challenge is to find the proper equilibrium between the two. Democracy is the mechanism our nation has used to balance the freedom and desires of the individual with policies that are fair and beneficial for the collective of society. Democracy requires dedicated maintenance. With the culture of the previous administration and many politicians undermining democracy itself, the folly of over-confidence about the guaranteed endurance of democracy will lead to potential disaster. The threat of fascism is very real. If you value democracy use your voice and your vote. I’d recommend reading Timothy Snyders “On Tyranny” to anyone who does not see the threats to democracy (and the principles it protects) as concerning. This print, “Icarus Democracy,” will also be available in person at Dallas Contemporary." -Shepard Fairey The Icarus Democracy Silkscreen Print is a piece of art created by Shepard Fairey, an American contemporary street artist, graphic designer, and activist. In the Icarus Democracy Silkscreen Print, Fairey uses the myth of Icarus to convey a message about democracy. In Greek mythology, Icarus is a figure who, along with his father Daedalus, escapes imprisonment using wings fashioned from feathers and wax. Despite being warned by his father, Icarus flies too close to the sun, causing the wax in his wings to melt and sending him plummeting into the sea. The story of Icarus is often interpreted as a cautionary tale about hubris and the perils of overconfidence or overreaching. Fairey's print likely uses the Icarus story to comment on the state of democracy, suggesting that democracies can also fall victim to hubris and overconfidence, resulting in negative consequences. Or maybe it's just fearmongering? The piece serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance in preserving and protecting democratic values and institutions both ironically and literally. The artwork, like many of Fairey's pieces, is created using the silkscreen printing technique. This process involves using a screen to apply ink onto a surface, creating bold, vibrant images. The Icarus Democracy Silkscreen Print showcases Fairey's signature style, characterized by strong lines, bold colors, and iconic imagery, featuring portraiture & symbols that can be easily recognized and interpreted by a wide audience.

  • Freedom For Humanity Chrome Serigraph Print by Mear One

Mear One Freedom For Humanity Chrome Serigraph Print by Mear One

Freedom For Humanity- Chrome Limited Edition Serigraph Print with Chrome Foil on Hand-Deckled 290gsm Coventry Rag Fine Art Paper by Mear One Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. 2016 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of 20 Artwork Size 20x27 "This piece, 'Freedom For Humanity,' symbolizes the attitude we should be taking regarding our rights as human beings. It's a play on George Orwell's 'Newspeak' from his novel 1984, where he combines and condenses words to create a new language. Language is so important for understanding what it means to be truly free. Yet, it is constantly being eroded, redefined, and replaced to suit the corporations and superficial consumer pop-culture trends for profit. People need translation out of our current language based on greed towards a more meaningful and insightful existence, using language based on our humanity, sharing, and cooperation. I want to inspire critical thought on the implementation of 'Newspeak' in our current Orwellian, media-blitzed reality." - Mear One. Dissecting' Freedom For Humanity' by Mear One Mear One has established himself as a consequential artist in street pop art and graffiti artwork, with "Freedom For Humanity" being one of his most compelling works. This Chrome Limited Edition Serigraph Print is more than a mere aesthetic indulgence; it is a testament to the artist's impassioned plea for linguistic and intellectual freedom. Limited to a series of just twenty signed and numbered pieces, the 2016 artwork, sized 20x27 inches, is printed on hand-deckled 290gsm Coventry Rag Fine Art Paper. This choice underscores the premium quality and the exclusiveness of the print. The Semantic Revolution Embodied in Art Mear One's creation is an interplay of visual and verbal languages, a critical response to the perversion of words in our contemporary society. This piece reflects not just Orwell's concept of 'Newspeak' but a broader commentary on the state of language and its role in human freedom. The artist's use of chromatic intensity and stark contrasts on the fine art paper is an eye-catching element of modern pop art and serves as a metaphor for the clarity and vibrancy that should accompany human communication. The central figure, a striking representation of defiance, holds a sign that boldly demands "Freedom for Humanity," symbolizing the fight against the manipulation of language by corporate and political forces. Mear One's message is clear: the erosion of language and the commodification of words for profit and power threaten the very fabric of our society. The artist seeks to inspire a reevaluation of how language is wielded and perceived in the modern age. His work implores us to transcend a lexicon rooted in greed and forge one grounded in our collective humanity. The message is a rallying cry for cooperation, sharing, and a reassessment of our values as a civilization. Embracing a New Lexicon for Human Empowerment The artwork bridges street art's raw expressiveness and the sophisticated discourse on human liberties. "Freedom For Humanity" is not merely Mear One's call to action; it is an invitation to introspect on the corporatization of our language and, by extension, our thoughts and freedoms. Through his serigraph, Mear One channels the power of Street Pop Art and graffiti Artwork to ignite conversation and drive change. The piece doesn't just hang on a wall; it stands on the front lines of cultural discourse, challenging the viewer to break free from the Orwellian shackles of modern-day 'Newspeak.' Ultimately, "Freedom For Humanity" is a symbolic manifesto in art form. It is a reminder of the potency of words and the significance of their liberation. Mear One has contributed a visually stunning piece to the realm of Street Pop Art and graffiti Artwork and embedded a profound message of liberation and unity within it. His work stands as a beacon for those who seek to understand the true meaning of freedom in a world where language is continually at risk of being co-opted by those in power.

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Open Minds Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Open Minds 4-Color Hand-Pulled Limited Edition Silkscreen Print on Cream Speckletone Art Paper by Shepard Fairey Rare Street Art OBEY Pop Artwork Artist. Signed & Numbered Screen Print OPEN MINDS 36 inches by 24 inches Edition of 675 February 3, 2022 Handling Creases to Bottom Left & Right Margins. This “Open Minds” print references the language used by the powerful fuel industry lobby to soften political and public resistance to fracking. Fracking is a form of gas extraction which beyond the carbon impact of the gas itself, contaminates groundwater, pollutes the air, and creates strains on water resources because of the high volume of water required for the fracking process. Open-mindedness about any of those detrimental impacts of fracking and other fossil fuel extraction is absurd if one cares about the environment, air and water quality, and global warming. Powerful corporations and their lobbyists spend exorbitant sums to distract from and discredit the science-based conversation about the environment. I’m all for open minds and open eyes when it comes to putting science and the welfare of the planet before corporate profits. A portion of the proceeds from this print will benefit Greenpeace to support its work to enhance environmental protections and combat climate change. – Shepard

The piece, crafted in 2022, showcases not only the artist's commitment to highlighting pressing global issues but also his refined expertise in blending different artistic mediums. At the heart of this artwork is a lone figure, attempting to navigate an urban expanse with a vivid, broken blue umbrella as his shield. The umbrella, fragmented yet distinctly prominent in its hue, symbolizes Earth's endurance amidst the adversities thrust upon it. The deep blue, reminiscent of the planet's boundless oceans and skies, stands in stark juxtaposition against the monochromatic city background. This backdrop, depicting a graffiti-laden wall, offers a raw depiction of urban decay, further accentuated by the figure's shadowy presence. Amid the chaotic jumble of spray paint and scribbles, certain inscriptions like "Protect eARTh" and "I LOVE EARTH" boldly emerge, acting as poignant reminders of the work's central theme. With "Protect the eARTh HPM 2", Hijack embarks on a quest to bridge the seemingly disparate worlds of urban decay and environmental conservation. This 1 of 1 unique hand-embellished edition, limited to just ten silkscreens, spans a canvas measuring 22.5x30 inches, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and reconsider their relationship with the environment. In partnering with the PangeaSeed Foundation to release this work for Earth Month, Fairey encapsulates the pressing environmental concerns of the modern era. Central to the piece is the depiction of an endangered North Atlantic right whale that exudes a mandala with the earth cradled within. This mandala, rooted in various cultural traditions, signifies harmony, unity, and the interconnectivity of the planet's ecosystems. The floral ornaments within it blossom as symbols of flourishing harmony, but the contrasting inclusion of flames starkly reminds viewers of the ever-looming threat of global warming. The text - "Protect the Blue Planet" and "One Ocean-One People" - along with the chosen blue palette, draws attention to the inextricable bond between thriving oceans and a sustainable world. As a renowned figure in the street art community, Fairey's work has always pushed boundaries, and with "Protect The Blue Planet", he once again blurs the lines between artistic expression, activism, and social responsibility, reminding the world of its role in safeguarding the planet. "To celebrate Earth Month, in collaboration with PangeaSeed Foundation, I’m pleased to release, “Protect The Blue Planet” which features an endangered North Atlantic right whale emanating a mandala with the earth as its focal point. In several cultures, the mandala represents harmony, unity, and wholeness, all of which are important concepts when considering the interconnected nature of the planet’s ecosystems, people, and species. Occupy Wall Street Shepard Fairey's 'Occupy Protester': A Beacon of Street Pop Art and Activism Shepard Fairey's 'Occupy Protester' is a poignant representation of the artist's involvement with the Occupy Wall Street movement and his continuous impact on street pop art and graffiti artwork. As an artist-proof (A.P.), this 2012 silkscreen print in colors on speckled cream paper was apart from the main edition of 450, enhancing its rarity and desirability among collectors and enthusiasts of the genre. Measuring 24 x 18 inches, the print is significant not only for its artistic merit but also for its strong political message. The 'Occupy Protester' features a figure wrapped in a scarf, with only the eyes visible, set against a backdrop of bold red and black stripes. This image is striking and filled with emotion, reflecting the intensity and urgency of the Occupy movement. The number "99%" prominently displayed in the artwork resonates with the movement's message, which protested against economic inequality and the disproportionate power of the wealthiest 1% of the population. Fairey's choice of speckle-tone paper adds an organic feel to the work, suggesting the grassroots nature of the protests. Cultural and Political Impact of Fairey's Work Shepard Fairey has long been an artist who uses his work to comment on social and political issues. 'Occupy Protester' continues this tradition, embodying the spirit of resistance and the call for change that defined the early 2010s. Published by Obey Giant, Los Angeles, the print serves as a historical document of the time, encapsulating the widespread feelings and sentiments among the participants of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Fairey's ability to communicate powerful messages through his art has solidified his position as a pivotal figure in the street pop art movement. The legacy of 'Occupy Protester' extends beyond its initial release. As a piece of street pop art, it has been instrumental in demonstrating the potential of art to influence public discourse and act as a catalyst for social change. The artist’s signature and numbering along the lower edge of the print serve as a reminder of the personal commitment and the voice of the artist behind the work. It is a testament to Fairey's dedication to his craft and his unwavering support for movements that seek to challenge the status quo. Legacy of 'Occupy Protester' in Street Art Shepard Fairey's 'Occupy Protester' is more than just a piece of art; it symbolizes a pivotal moment in contemporary history. It represents the synergy between art and activism and how street pop art can transcend traditional canvases to become a part of the collective consciousness. As an A.P. screenprint, it holds a special place in the chronicles of street art, signifying a moment when art and the artist stepped out of the shadows and into the arena of political activism. The print remains a powerful piece of visual communication, reflecting the ethos of a movement that sought to redefine power and privilege in the modern world.

My philosophy is actually “question everything”. Conformity is often more unconscious than conscious… an adaptation to structures we may not agree with and a submission to unseen forces of manipulation… unseen because our eyes and minds are not open wide enough. People come up with conspiracy theories like “the Illuminati” to explain the feelings that they are cogs in someone else’s machine, but the deconstruction of power and control requires nothing more than a conscious and diligent examination of how power and influence upon the government accumulate and concentrate under capitalism. Eyes On The King Verdict 4-Color Hand-Pulled Limited Edition Silkscreen Print on Fine Speckletone Art Paper by Shepard Fairey x Ted Soqui Rare Street Art OBEY Pop Artwork Artist. 2022 Signed by Shepard Fairey & Ted Soqui, Numbered 18x24 inches. Screenprint on thick cream Speckletone paper. Numbered edition of 600. "I based this “Eyes on the King Verdict” print on photos taken by Ted Soqui during the LA riots of spring 1992. Ted has a long history of photographing activists and protests, which began after the “not guilty” verdicts on April 29, 1992, for the four officers who severely beat Rodney King. I especially love the central pic of a young woman protester in a Malcolm X hat contemplating the scene. I think it is important to consider the symbolic weight of the Rodney King verdict and the emotional impact on communities of color seeking justice and accountability. At the time, 30 years ago, I remember feeling enraged that such a blatant act of police brutality was going unpunished when it was captured on video. It is heartbreaking how frequently similar acts of violence and abuse of power by law enforcement have gone unpunished, even when caught on camera. I don’t ever condone violence or looting, but I understand why LA erupted in riots and protests after the King verdict. When people feel that the American system has failed them repeatedly, things can reach a boiling point. The urge to protest injustice and the right to do so are legitimate, even if looting is not legitimate. The LA riots were a tragic mixture. However, beware of those who try to conflate protest with “criminal agitation” or “inciting a riot.” When the system fails the people, it is nothing short of patriotic for the people to protest for a solution. Ted Soqui and I both signed the “Eyes on the King Verdict” print.” – Shepard

Not just the harmful effects of burning fossil fuels, but also the dangerous psychology of denial and nihilism that underpins the apathy toward the planet’s future (and ours)! Whether it is the defiant greed of the fossil fuel corporations or the indifference of a public comfortable with status quo habits around fossil fuels, further delay in transitioning to renewable energy sources will be catastrophic for the planet and all of its species. Pink Party Original One of a Kind Acrylic Painting Artwork on Stretched Canvas by Popular Art Pop Culture Artist Serge Gay Jr. 2011 Signed Original Acrylic Painting Size 40x30 Ready To Hang On Stretched Canvas Serge Gay Jr.'s "Pink Party": A Vibrant Fusion of Pop Culture and Fine Art "Pink Party," an original acrylic painting on stretched canvas by the acclaimed pop culture artist Serge Gay Jr., is a striking embodiment of the fusion between the worlds of high art and popular culture. This 2011 signed original artwork, measuring 40x30 inches, exemplifies Gay's ability to capture the zeitgeist of his era through a vibrant tableau that is at once playful, provocative, and poignant. The painting, ready to hang and enjoy, offers a window into the artist's vision where the lines between street art, pop art, and graffiti blur, creating a narrative that resonates on both an aesthetic and conceptual level. The artwork's visual lexicon is rich with symbolism and iconography, characteristic of Gay's style, which often weaves together elements of street pop art and graffiti artwork. "Pink Party" is no exception, with its bold colors, dynamic composition, and juxtaposition of imagery that speaks to the societal narratives and pop culture references. The painting's scene is a carnival of motifs that engage with themes of identity, celebration, and the undercurrents of social commentary, inviting viewers into a dialogue with the piece that goes beyond its surface beauty. Exploring the Layers in Serge Gay Jr.'s Artistic Expression The layers of meaning in Serge Gay Jr.'s "Pink Party" are a testament to the depth of his artistic expression. Each element within the canvas works in concert with the others to create a cohesive narrative that is both deeply personal and universally relevant. Gay's work often touches on the intersectionality of identity, culture, and the vibrant energy of urban life, and this painting is a celebration of those themes, presented with the flair and finesse that only a master of his craft can achieve. Gay's approach to pop culture is nuanced and layered, often reflecting on the past while commenting on the present. The imagery in "Pink Party" draws from a broad palette of cultural references, from music and fashion to social movements and everyday life. His ability to distill these elements into a single, harmonious composition is a hallmark of his work, making each piece a complex conversation starter. The use of acrylic paint adds a tangible texture to the work, emphasizing the physicality of the street art influence in his practice. The Cultural Relevance of "Pink Party" in the Artistic Landscape "Pink Party" holds a place of cultural relevance in the contemporary artistic landscape. It is reflective of a time when the boundaries between different art forms are increasingly porous, and the influence of pop culture on traditional art practices is undeniable. Serge Gay Jr.'s work is situated at the heart of this cultural shift, using the canvas to explore and explode the conventions of what fine art can be. This original piece by Gay not only exemplifies his skill as a painter but also his insight as a cultural commentator. Through his art, Gay captures the spirit of the times, embodying the energy, challenges, and triumphs of modern society. "Pink Party," with its captivating visual narrative and layered meanings, continues to resonate with audiences, securing its place as a significant work in the canon of 21st-century pop art. In the broader context of Street Pop Art & Graffiti Artwork, "Pink Party" represents the evolving nature of these genres, showcasing how they can transition from the walls of the city to the walls of a gallery without losing their impact or authenticity. The painting is a celebration of the street art ethos — accessible, engaging, and unapologetically bold. Serge Gay Jr.'s ability to bridge the gap between these worlds with such fluency is a testament to his role as a leading figure in the contemporary art scene. As a unique art object, "Pink Party" is not only a visual feast but also a piece of history, capturing the essence of an era where art is increasingly becoming a vehicle for social change and personal expression. It stands as a beacon of the creative possibilities that arise when the street meets the studio, and the result is a work that is as thought-provoking as it is beautiful.

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Alternative Facts Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Alternative Facts Hand-Pulled 4-Color Silkscreen Print on Speckletone Fine Art Paper by Artist Shepard Fairey Limited Edition Pop Art Artwork. 2022 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of XXX Artwork Size 24x24 " We are at a critical moment for the preservation of democracy and non-partisan access to voting for all citizens of voting age. Between the Supreme Court, partisan gerrymandering shaping state legislatures, and the filibuster as a tool of obstruction in Congress, we are already facing tyranny by the minority. The forces dominating our politics do not reflect the values of most Americans. My print, Alternative Facts, addresses the mass confusion about truth that allows the parties who spread the big lie about the 2020 election (and many other lies) fomented the January 6th insurrection and are engaged in voter suppression and other anti-democracy schemes, to flourish unchecked. A portion of proceeds from Alternative Facts will benefit the ACLU in its legal fights against voter suppression and other attacks on the constitution." -Shepard Fairey Shepard Fairey's work is highly political and social, not only because he is incorporating politicians and slogans in it but more importantly because the artist is primarily interested in approaching as many people as possible, exhibiting his work in the covers of the books, which we read, in the music albums, to which we listen, and on the walls of the streets, where we walk. “If I put art in a daring spot, it’s more moving to the viewer and demonstrates my conviction.”, he says. After all, Fairey, in many cases, directly expresses his views on politics and society, whenever he is given the chance. For example, in the aftermath of the “Hope” poster, he commented the following: “Obama has had a really tough time, but there have been a lot of things that he's compromised on that I never would have expected. I mean, drones and domestic spying are the last things I would have thought [he'd support]”. The political aspect of his work can, also, be seen under the spectrum of Fairey’s activism and humanitarian activity. Many of his works have been created as part of activism campaigns or were sold to support causes relevant to the Arts, animal rights, poverty, medical research, the environment, etc. The artist, however, doesn’t identify himself as an activist: “People ask me if I’m an activist, and my answer is no. I’m an artist with a point of view, but I want to do my part to supplement activist causes I believe in. I feel fortunate to connect with people who find my imagery useful and help spread it.”

Let’s ban together to Stop Fascism and make sure that we get Trump out of power! Thanks.” -Ernesto Yerena The realm of contemporary art has often been a platform for political expression, especially in genres like pop art, street art, and graffiti art. One striking example that stands out from recent times is the "Vota! Alto Al Fascismo" artwork, a hand-pulled 4-color silkscreen print on fine art paper. This piece is the brainchild of two phenomenal artists, Shepard Fairey of the Obey fame, and Ernesto Yerena Montejano from Hecho Con Ganas. Both artists are renowned for their bold stances and vibrant portrayals of socio-political issues, and this particular piece showcases their combined brilliance. Released in 2020, the artwork is not just a statement piece but a testament to the urgency and significance of the message it conveys. Limited to an edition of 450, each artwork is meticulously signed by both Shepard and Ernesto, indicating their personal commitment to the cause it represents. The dimensions of 18x24 make it a conspicuous piece, ensuring that the message is both seen and felt. Ernesto's comment further illustrates the core motive behind this collaboration, shedding light on the broader aim of disseminating the message across cities nationwide through posters and stickers. Engaging, evocative, and ever-relevant, the "Vota! Alto Al Fascismo" artwork seamlessly blends the boundaries between art and activism. As pop art and street art evolve, such pieces remain a testament to their profound impact on society, urging viewers to take action and be part of a larger movement.

White Variant Signed & Numbered Moon Over Biloxi Screen Print 18 x 24 inches Edition of 200 July 27, 2010. "The title of this print “Moon Over Biloxi” is a tribute to the Dead Kennedy’s song “Moon Over Marin”. In 1984 I picked up maybe my 4th punk record which was the 2nd Dead Kennedy’s album “Plastic Surgery Disasters”. The album is a great listen all the way through and includes some blistering tunes like “Riot” and “Bleed For Me” laced with social commentary. The surprise song though is “Moon Over Marin”… detractors have called it the Dead Kennedy’s “U2” song, but I disagree. “Moon Over Marin” is more melodic than most DK, but juxtaposed with the darkness of the lyrics, the song evokes a powerful sense of existential melancholy. I think the concept that struck me, and stuck with me, is that our disrespect of each other and the planet may doom us, but things will continue without us. I think it is healthy to recognize impermanence, but also to appreciate the value of the ephemeral. Moonlight, real or electric, will probably be around, but what it will be casting light on is the real question. There will always be a moon over Biloxi." -Shepard

AR-15 Lily- Large Format Limited Edition Hand Pulled 4-Color Serigraph Print on Custom Cotton Coventry Rag Paper by Graffiti Street Artist Shepard Fairey.

  • UltraS PP Archival Print by David Molesky

David Molesky UltraS PP Archival Print by David Molesky

UltraS PP Printer Proof Limited Edition Archival Pigment Prints on 310gsm Fine Art Paper by David Molesky, a Graffiti Street Artist Modern Pop Art. PP Printers Proof 2016 Signed & Marked PP Limited Edition Artwork Size 24x20 "This painting is the masterpiece from my series of paintings based on media images of the revolution in Kyiv. It's the largest of the eight paintings and the one I spent the most time on. The figure captures the energy that originally drew me into the subject matter. The paintings of this series are a departure from my earlier figurative paintings. For the last decade, I have tried to depict universal time and avoided artificial objects. I've dropped that dogma. I love that the subject is current and contains elements that seem from another era. For example, the old school puffy down jacket and the overall color looks a bit like old film tone." - David Molesky. The Convergence of Revolution and Art in David Molesky's "UltraS" David Molesky's "UltraS PP Printer Proof" stands out as a pivotal creation that captures the essence of Street Pop Art and graffiti Artwork while being deeply rooted in the historical context of the revolution in Kyiv. As an archival pigment print on 310gsm fine art paper, this piece holds significant value in its material quality and profound thematic content. The limited edition print, marked and signed by Molesky himself, measures 24x20 inches, providing a substantial canvas for the artist's vision. Molesky's journey through the artistic depiction of universal time and space takes a dramatic turn with "UltraS." The painting eschews his previous avoidance of temporal and artificial elements, plunging instead into the immediacy of current events with a raw and gripping portrayal of the human spirit in times of conflict. The "UltraS" series, specifically this print, departs from Molesky's earlier figurative painting, venturing into a more dynamic and narratively rich territory. The artwork is an amalgamation of past and present, a visual dialogue between the history it draws from and the contemporary medium of its expression. The print itself, a Printer's Proof, bears the unique distinction of being a precursor to the final limited edition run, carrying with it the artist's nuances and direct hand. The markings and the signature on each PP print confirm its authenticity and exclusivity, making it a coveted item for collectors and admirers of modern pop art. In "UltraS," Molesky achieves a striking balance between the static and the kinetic. The image of the solitary figure, poised against a backdrop of fiery chaos, encapsulates a moment of intense action and profound stillness. This figure, adorned in an "old school puffy down jacket," is an anachronistic anchor, throwing the viewer into a liminal space where time converges. The overall coloration of the print, reminiscent of old film tones, further imbues the scene with a sense of history and gravitas. David Molesky's Artistic Evolution Through "UltraS" The "UltraS" piece is not just an artwork but a historical document and a visual commentary, encapsulating the enthusiasm and the ethos of the streets. By adopting elements from graffiti art, Molesky infuses the piece with authenticity and an edge typically reserved for the most impactful street art. The scrawled "UltraS" on the side of the burning vehicle is a nod to the graffiti tradition, a signature that declares both presence and resistance. This Printer's Proof edition of "UltraS" is a testament to Molesky's artistic maturation. It showcases his willingness to engage with the present, to document it, and to reflect on it through his art. The series demonstrates a clear narrative progression in his work, embracing the current moment with all its complexities and contradictions. The impact of "UltraS" lies in its capacity to transcend the temporal boundaries that often define street art. Molesky's print is a snapshot of a single event and a broader exploration of the human condition amidst societal turmoil. It is a piece that resonates with the urgency of now while simultaneously capturing the echoes of the past. For the art world, "UltraS" represents a significant contribution to the discourse of Street Pop Art and graffiti Artwork. It is a work that demands contemplation, speaks to the soul of the viewer, and invites us to ponder the role of art in reflecting and shaping our perception of historical events. David Molesky's "UltraS" is not just a piece to be viewed; it is an experience to be absorbed, a dialogue to be entered, and a reflection of our world.

Activism
Activism and social commentary have always been at the core of graffiti art and street art. These forms of art have been used as a powerful tool to raise awareness and provoke change on important social and political issues. Graffiti art and street art can serve as a platform for people to express their opinions, challenge social norms, and bring attention to the injustices in society. The origins of graffiti art can be traced back to the 1960s in Philadelphia, where teenagers began to write their names on walls and subway trains. The practice quickly spread to other cities and evolved into a form of art that incorporated political messages and social commentary. Graffiti art became a way for marginalized groups, such as minorities and the working class, to express their dissatisfaction with the status quo. Street art, on the other hand, emerged as a reaction to the commercialization of graffiti art. Street artists sought to move away from the illegality and rebelliousness of graffiti and instead create public art that was accessible to everyone. Street art is often characterized by its bright colors, bold designs, and political messages. One of the most famous examples of activism in graffiti art is the work of the anonymous street artist Banksy. Banksy's work often addresses political and social issues, such as war, poverty, and environmental destruction. Banksy's work is also known for its satirical commentary on contemporary society. For example, in his famous mural, "One Nation Under CCTV," Banksy depicts a young boy holding a paintbrush and a can of spray paint, while a security camera looms over him. The mural serves as a commentary on the surveillance state and the government's control over individual freedoms. Another example of activism in graffiti art is the work of the artist Shepard Fairey. Fairey is best known for his "Obey" campaign, which features a stylized image of wrestler Andre the Giant. Fairey's work is often politically motivated and has addressed issues such as government corruption, climate change, and police brutality. In 2008, Fairey created the iconic "Hope" poster for Barack Obama's presidential campaign, which became a symbol of the campaign's message of hope and change. Graffiti art and street art have also been used as a form of protest against police brutality and racial injustice. In the wake of the murder of George Floyd in 2020, cities across the United States were filled with murals and graffiti art that called for an end to police brutality and racial inequality. These works of art served as a powerful reminder of the need for systemic change and justice. In addition to political and social commentary, graffiti art and street art have also been used to address environmental issues. Many street artists have created works of art that call attention to the devastating effects of climate change and pollution. For example, the artist Blu created a mural in Italy that depicts a giant wave made of trash. The mural serves as a reminder of the impact of plastic pollution on the world's oceans. The influence of activism on graffiti art and street art has also been felt in the art world. Graffiti art and street art have gained acceptance as legitimate forms of art, and many street artists have become highly sought after by collectors and galleries. Some street artists have also collaborated with mainstream brands and corporations to raise awareness of social and environmental issues. While some critics argue that this co-optation of street art is a form of selling out, others see it as a way to reach a wider audience and effect change on a larger scale. Activism has played a significant role in the development and evolution of graffiti art and street art. These forms of art have been used as a platform for people to express their opinions, challenge social norms, and bring attention to important social and political issues.
