Bad Brains are one of my favorite punk/hardcore groups of all time. I’ve been a Bad Brains fan for 30-plus years and am lucky to work with them on a few projects, including prints, a clothing collection, and the cover of their album “Into the Future.” Glen E. Friedman shot many great photos of Bad Brains, and his photo of HR at A7 bar in New York City from 1981 is the reference for this poster illustration. It’s an incredible honor to create art and to be connected to a band that has provided so much inspiration, energy, and sheer pleasure for me over the years. American USA Flag

The use of the US flag in graffiti street art can be a complex and controversial issue. On one hand, the flag is a powerful symbol of American identity and values, and its inclusion in art can be seen as a way to express patriotism or pride in the country. On the other hand, graffiti is often associated with rebellion and anti-establishment sentiment, which may conflict with the ideals represented by the flag.In addition, the use of the US flag in graffiti street art can also be viewed as a form of political commentary or social critique. For example, an artist may use the flag to make a statement about issues such as inequality, injustice, or government corruption. In this context, the flag may be used ironically or satirically, highlighting the gap between American ideals and the reality of social and political conditions. It's worth noting that the use of the US flag in graffiti street art is not necessarily illegal, but it can still be seen as disrespectful or offensive to some viewers. As with any form of public art, the inclusion of the flag should be considered carefully and with sensitivity to its cultural and historical significance.
