Courtney Collins is a contemporary artist based in Los Angeles, California. She is known for her abstract paintings that explore the intersection of color, shape, and texture. Collins was born in Seattle, Washington in 1985 and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Washington in 2008. She later moved to Los Angeles to pursue her artistic career and received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2012. Collins’ work is characterized by bold, expressive brushstrokes and a vibrant color palette. She often works in large-scale formats, allowing her paintings to command attention and engage with the viewer on a visceral level. Collins’ process is intuitive, with each stroke of the brush informed by the previous one. She explores the relationship between color and texture, layering thick impasto and creating a sense of depth and movement.
