Fafi, born Fabienne Verdier in 1976, is a French graffiti artist known for her unique and playful style, which features colorful, provocative, and empowering female characters called "Fafinettes." She began her career in the early 1990s and quickly gained recognition for her street art, which adorned walls and public spaces in Paris and other cities around the world. Her Fafinettes are inspired by a variety of influences, including Japanese manga, American comics, and hip-hop culture, and are often portrayed as strong and independent women. Through her art, Fafi aims to challenge societal norms and gender stereotypes. As her work gained popularity, she expanded into other mediums, such as illustration, animation, and fashion. Fafi has collaborated with several well-known brands and artists, including MAC Cosmetics, adidas, Swatch, and singer M.I.A. Her work has also been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, solidifying her position as an influential and respected artist in the contemporary art scene.
