"This piece was born from the inspiration of a personal struggle I was experiencing with overcoming certain obstacles in my life surrounding addiction. Not just chemical addiction, but addictive thoughts and behaviors that didn't serve my highest good. The lion archetype visited me in my dreams during this time of struggle with addiction. I dreamt I was a lion running with full force through a dense jungle. I had a thick rope in my mouth and as I ran through this jungle people were fighting to grab the free sides of the rope to try and slow me down from running so fast. It was getting snagged and I felt extreme pain in my body. The pain grew to the point my body caught on fire, I could feel my flesh searing. I remember fighting through it and eventually, the pain went away and I kept running forward. Pretty Intense! So I combined my vision of the lion with the mandala to mirror a frequency of courage, strength, and power to its the viewer and the space that it is hung in." - Chris Saunders

Three-Piece Etching Limited Edition Etching with Aquatint Print on Hand-Decorated Fine Art Paper by Zwy Milshtein is a pop art graffiti artist art. 1970 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition Etching Art Print. Artist: Zwy Milshtein Title: Three Piece Etching Medium: etching, with Aquatint Size: 21 x 30 inches Edition: Signed in pencil and marked 26/75 Zwy Milshtein: A Maestro of Etching and Aquatint Zwy Milshtein's artistic narrative is one of movement, not just across geographies but also through the evolution of his distinct style and technique. Born in 1934 in Kichinev, now known as Moldova, Milshtein's journey through the turbulence of World War II led him from Russia to Romania and eventually to Israel. However, in Paris, to which he moved in 1955, Milshtein found his enduring artistic home. Here, he became renowned as both a painter and a master engraver, celebrated for his etchings and engravings that capture the complexity of human experience. The Intertwining Paths of Engraving and Street Art The "Three-Piece Etching" by Milshtein is a testament to the craftsmanship and depth of engraving as an art form. Completed in 1970, this signed and numbered limited edition etching with aquatint, measuring 21 x 30 inches, is a fine example of Milshtein's adeptness with aquatint—a technique that allows for the creation of tonal effects, producing rich textures and a range of shades that lend a painterly quality to prints. This artwork, part of an exclusive series marked 26/75, is particularly notable for its abstract composition and the intriguing use of negative space, which engages the viewer in a visual dialogue reminiscent of contemporary street art and graffiti. Milshtein's Impact on Contemporary Art Milshtein's influence on the art world is well-documented through numerous exhibitions and retrospectives. His work was featured at ARC, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, and in 1978, the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris hosted a retrospective exhibition of his engravings. His artistic achievements include participation in the Hans Christian Andersen House project 1997, where he, along with other top European artists, paid tribute to the Danish author's bicentennial birthday. The aesthetic choices and technical skill displayed in works like "Three-Piece Etching" echo the visual strategies found in street pop art and graffiti. Milshtein's art, while distinct in its medium and execution, shares the spirit of innovation and subversion that is a hallmark of street art. His engravings invite the public to explore themes of identity, memory, and existence, much like street art and graffiti often do within the urban landscape. Zwy Milshtein's contributions to the world of engraving and his explorations in aquatint have secured his reputation as an artist of great skill and depth. "Three-Piece Etching" is a prime example of his ability to communicate complex ideas through printmaking. His legacy continues to inspire and influence artists within and beyond pop art, street art, and graffiti, affirming his artistry's enduring power and relevance.

The Funny Farm piece started with the help of my friend Denial, who invited me to participate in the Free 4 All Walls project in Canada last month. Denial had organized a massive barn for me to paint for the project. This was the largest arrow I've ever painted and the most coffee I drank over four days. Tim Horton's coffee should be illegal." - Above The Visionary Arrow of Tavar Zawacki-ABOVE: 'Funny Farm' Printers Proof Edition Tavar Zawacki, heralded as a street pop art and graffiti artwork legend, continues to captivate the art world with his 'Funny Farm' PP Printer's Proof Archival Pigment Fine Art Print. By transforming a rural structure into a vibrant canvas, ABOVE extends the reach of street art, inviting a new demographic to engage with the movement. The limited edition print captures this expansive mural's essence, allowing it to resonate within pop art and street culture, ensuring its legacy endures. He was born on November 11, 1966, in Garges-lès-Gonesse, France. Mr. Brainwash came to prominence through the 2010 Oscar-nominated documentary "Exit Through the Gift Shop", which was directed by the renowned British street artist Banksy. Initially, Guetta began as a videographer who was interested in street art and decided to document the phenomenon. This endeavor led him to meet and film numerous street artists, including Shepard Fairey and Banksy. However, in a surprising twist, Banksy turned the camera on Guetta, encouraging him to become an artist himself. The result was Mr. Brainwash, a pop artist known for his large-scale productions and eclectic style, drawing heavily from pop culture references and the work of other street artists. His work often blends elements of pop art with the raw, edgy aesthetics of street art. Since his emergence, Mr. Brainwash has held numerous exhibitions and his work has gained significant attention in the art world, both for its bold, distinctive style and for the controversy surrounding his sudden rise to fame. He is known for his energetic and often humorous installations, sculptures, and stenciled artworks. Despite criticism from some quarters who view his work as derivative, Mr. Brainwash has continued to maintain a successful career in the contemporary art scene. Mother's Day is a celebration that honors mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May. The modern American holiday of Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother at St Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. Anna Jarvis's mother, Ann Jarvis, had been a peace activist who cared for wounded soldiers on both sides of the American Civil War, and created Mother's Day Work Clubs to address public health issues. Anna Jarvis wanted to honor her mother by continuing the work she started and to set aside a day to honor all mothers because she believed that they were "the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world". In 1914, Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designating Mother's Day, held on the second Sunday in May, as a national holiday to honor mothers. Since then, Mother's Day has become a day that children celebrate their mothers with cards, gifts, and activities. The holiday has been adopted by other countries and it's celebrated in different ways worldwide. For example, in the United Kingdom, it is traditionally known as Mothering Sunday and it's celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent. In Mexico, it's always celebrated on May 10th, regardless of the day of the week. It's important to note that Mother's Day can bring different feelings for different people. While it's a joyous occasion for many, it can be a difficult day for those who have lost their mothers or who have strained relationships with them. It's also a day to honor and remember mothers who have passed away.

Surfing, sunbathing, margaritas, friends, swimming, and just an overall relaxed attitude about anything + everything. This upcoming print, I feel captures these aforementioned charms of my favorite month." - Tavar Zawacki "August Limited Edition" archival pigment prints are the artistic embodiment of Tavar Zawacki's, also known as ABOVE, affection for the peak summer month, reflecting a blend of his Californian roots and European experiences. France's Flourish: A Canvas of Street Pop Art and Graffiti

France, with its deep-rooted artistic heritage, presents a fascinating tapestry of street pop art and graffiti, merging the country's historical penchant for aesthetic expression with contemporary urban culture. French streets, particularly in Paris, Lyon, and Marseille, have become synonymous with an ever-evolving art scene that pushes the boundaries of public space as a platform for creative expression.

Foundations of French Street Art

The foundations of French street art are steeped in the country's revolutionary spirit, a characteristic that continues to inform the themes and techniques employed by today's artists. The rich artistic traditions of France serve as both a canvas and a catalyst for modern expressions, leading to a unique blend of the old and the new. In France, street art and graffiti have moved from being viewed solely as vandalism to recognized artistry, thanks partly to the country's embrace of its artists and their contributions to cultural vibrancy.

Signature Styles and French Urban Aesthetics

French street pop art and graffiti are characterized by their signature styles, which often pay homage to the country's art history while simultaneously reflecting modern themes and issues. From Blek le Rat's pioneering stencils to Invader's pixelated mosaics, French street art is marked by a diversity of approaches that encompasses everything from classical beauty to avant-garde abstraction. These artists have not only adorned walls but have also engaged with the fabric of French society, using their art to provoke, question, and celebrate.

Cultural Significance and Impact

The cultural significance and impact of French street pop art and graffiti cannot be overstated. The artworks serve as public forums for dialogue, reflecting the country's socio-political climate and the global issues affecting contemporary society. Artists like JR have transformed public spaces into open-air galleries that challenge perceptions and encourage international discourse. In contrast, others like Zevs deliver sharp critiques of consumerism and commercialism through their works.

Street Art Festivals and Institutional Recognition

France's institutional recognition of street art is evident through festivals and exhibitions celebrating and promoting urban art forms. Events like Le Mur in Paris, which provides a public space for artists to create life, have played a crucial role in integrating street pop art and graffiti into the mainstream cultural landscape. These platforms not only showcase the talent and diversity of French artists but also foster a deeper appreciation for the art form among the public.

Prospects for French Street Art

The prospects for French street art are expansive, with cities increasingly acknowledging the value of these art forms in animating public spaces and fostering community engagement. Urban development projects often include street pop art and graffiti as critical elements in revitalizing and reimagining public areas, signaling a future where these art forms continue to flourish and evolve. France's contribution to street pop art and graffiti is immense, painting a picture of a nation that is both respectful of its past and excited about its future. French urban art stands as a testament to the creativity and resilience of its artists, who navigate the complex interplay between art, space, and society. With each spray, stencil, and mosaic, France cements as a vital player in the global street art narrative, inviting onlookers to partake in its rich cultural dialogue.
