  • Alternative Facts - Sprayed Paint Art Collection

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Alternative Facts Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Purchase Alternative Facts Hand-Pulled 4-Color Silkscreen Print on Speckletone Fine Art Paper by Artist Shepard Fairey Limited Edition Pop Art Artwork. 2022 Signed & Numbered Limited Edition of XXX Artwork Size 24x24 " We are at a critical moment for the preservation of democracy and non-partisan access to voting for all citizens of voting age. Between the Supreme Court, partisan gerrymandering shaping state legislatures, and the filibuster as a tool of obstruction in Congress, we are already facing tyranny by the minority. The forces dominating our politics do not reflect the values of most Americans. My print, Alternative Facts, addresses the mass confusion about truth that allows the parties who spread the big lie about the 2020 election (and many other lies) fomented the January 6th insurrection and are engaged in voter suppression and other anti-democracy schemes, to flourish unchecked. A portion of proceeds from Alternative Facts will benefit the ACLU in its legal fights against voter suppression and other attacks on the constitution." -Shepard Fairey Shepard Fairey's work is highly political and social, not only because he is incorporating politicians and slogans in it but more importantly because the artist is primarily interested in approaching as many people as possible, exhibiting his work in the covers of the books, which we read, in the music albums, to which we listen, and on the walls of the streets, where we walk. “If I put art in a daring spot, it’s more moving to the viewer and demonstrates my conviction.”, he says. After all, Fairey, in many cases, directly expresses his views on politics and society, whenever he is given the chance. For example, in the aftermath of the “Hope” poster, he commented the following: “Obama has had a really tough time, but there have been a lot of things that he's compromised on that I never would have expected. I mean, drones and domestic spying are the last things I would have thought [he'd support]”. The political aspect of his work can, also, be seen under the spectrum of Fairey’s activism and humanitarian activity. Many of his works have been created as part of activism campaigns or were sold to support causes relevant to the Arts, animal rights, poverty, medical research, the environment, etc. The artist, however, doesn’t identify himself as an activist: “People ask me if I’m an activist, and my answer is no. I’m an artist with a point of view, but I want to do my part to supplement activist causes I believe in. I feel fortunate to connect with people who find my imagery useful and help spread it.”

Purchase Two Americas- Large Format Limited Edition Hand Pulled 4-Color Serigraph Print on Varnished 100% Cotton Rag Archival Paper with hand-deckled edges by Shepard Fairey graffiti street artist modern pop art. 4-Color Serigraph on Varnished 100% Cotton Rag Archival Paper. 30 x 40 inches. Signed by Shepard Fairey.  Numbered edition of 100. Jim Marshall's photograph of a coal mining family in Hazard, Kentucky, taken while he lived with them, says a lot with what it shows, which is a mother and two children huddled together in support of each other, but it says just as much with what it lacks. There is a conspicuous absence of material necessities and a father. I don't know whether the father was working in a coal mine when the photograph was taken or had potentially died young because of the health risks of working under dangerous conditions, but it is clear that the family is struggling and lacking.

Purchase Factory Stacks- Endless Power 6-Color Hand-Pulled Limited Edition Silkscreen Print on Fine Speckletone Art Paper by Shepard Fairey Rare Street Art OBEY Pop Artwork Artist. 2022 Signed by Shepard Fairey Numbered 18x24 inches. Screenprint on thick cream Speckletone paper. Numbered edition of 350.  "These “Factory Stacks” images combine the austere, angular power of factory architecture with graphic elements commenting on what we promote and embrace as a society even when those things are destructive. The fossil fuel industries have tremendous power economically, but we now know that not only are fossil fuel sources finite but that using them is terrible for climate change and, therefore, the eco-systems that sustain life on our planet. Unfortunately, due to the political power of these industries and public apathy about climate change, the government subsidizes the fossil fuel industries for billions even as they damage the environment. The government works for the citizens, so the choice is ours. Do we support endless power for wealthy fossil fuel corporations? Or policies that put the earth first with the planet before profits? Please read Naomi Klein’s THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING to better understand the conflict between economic interests and climate change. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this print will go to Greenpeace to fight climate change. Thanks for caring.” – Shepard

Denial- Daniel Bombardier Broken Page Mixed Media Wood Print by Denial- Daniel Bombardier

Purchase Broken Page Original Hand-Painted Multiple Mixed Media Spray Paint Artwork on Laser Cut Wood Panel ready to hang by Denial graffiti street artist modern pop art. "My work speaks of impending doom and a lot of crass sinister themes, but that should not mean I desire this to happen at all. I hope my work would suggest only the opposite: to show the ridiculousness of it all and how we may find better solutions for the future." -Denial In the world of Denial, memory is important, because it is the basis of his work, as it nostalgically encourages the audience to engage with it. As a result, his art is as familiar, as it is disturbing because it reveals the most unsettling parts of society, the ones we are in a “denial” of. No matter its controversial history, graffiti is less and less viewed as a form of vandalism.

Signed & Numbered Screen Print  IN HONOR OF VINCENT JEN CHIN 18 inches by 24 inches Edition of 350 August 18, 2021 In this politicised pandemic crisis through which the previous leader of the most powerful nation in the world labelled coronavirus as China-Virus and its various forms, the consequences of racist blame has led to manifold increases in hate crimes against Asians.  I hope this collaboration between Shepard and myself can raise awareness about the long history of anti-Asian hate and the important legacy of Vincent Chin whose untimely death in 1982 galvanised the people to demand Asian American civil rights. This current crucial moment in history calls for a gathering of momentum where Asian diaspora voices should go loud and proud. To stand together, advocate for change and collectively build bridges of understanding over glass ceilings and walls of hate. -Gordon Cheung

  • Eyes On The King Verdict - Sprayed Paint Art Collection

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Eyes On The King Verdict Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Purchase Eyes On The King Verdict 4-Color Hand-Pulled Limited Edition Silkscreen Print on Fine Speckletone Art Paper by Shepard Fairey x Ted Soqui Rare Street Art OBEY Pop Artwork Artist. 2022 Signed by Shepard Fairey & Ted Soqui, Numbered 18x24 inches. Screenprint on thick cream Speckletone paper. Numbered edition of 600.  "I based this “Eyes on the King Verdict” print on photos taken by Ted Soqui during the LA riots of spring 1992. Ted has a long history of photographing activists and protests, which began after the “not guilty” verdicts on April 29, 1992, for the four officers who severely beat Rodney King. I especially love the central pic of a young woman protester in a Malcolm X hat contemplating the scene. I think it is important to consider the symbolic weight of the Rodney King verdict and the emotional impact on communities of color seeking justice and accountability. At the time, 30 years ago, I remember feeling enraged that such a blatant act of police brutality was going unpunished when it was captured on video. It is heartbreaking how frequently similar acts of violence and abuse of power by law enforcement have gone unpunished, even when caught on camera. I don’t ever condone violence or looting, but I understand why LA erupted in riots and protests after the King verdict. When people feel that the American system has failed them repeatedly, things can reach a boiling point. The urge to protest injustice and the right to do so are legitimate, even if looting is not legitimate. The LA riots were a tragic mixture. However, beware of those who try to conflate protest with “criminal agitation” or “inciting a riot.” When the system fails the people, it is nothing short of patriotic for the people to protest for a solution. Ted Soqui and I both signed the “Eyes on the King Verdict” print.” – Shepard

Punk rock ignited a lot of creative and philosophical things for me, and punk principles continuously remind me that speaking truth to power and questioning authority is paramount in life. The Dead Kennedys, The Clash, Black Flag, and the Circle Jerks are just a few of the groups that referenced injustices such as police brutality and abuse of power in their songs, inspiring me to speak out about the same subjects through my art. I have made a lot of lasting friendships through punk rock and its cultural offshoots. One of those friends is Sean Bonner, who began ordering my prints in the ’90s while he was art director for punk label Victory Records.

  • Moon Over Biloxi- White - Sprayed Paint Art Collection

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Moon Over Biloxi- White Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Purchase Moon Over Biloxi- White 1-Color Hand-Pulled Limited Edition Silkscreen Print on Fine Art Paper by Shepard Fairey Rare Street Art Famous Pop Artwork Artist. White Variant Signed & Numbered Moon Over Biloxi  Screen Print 18 x 24 inches Edition of 200 July 27, 2010. "The title of this print “Moon Over Biloxi” is a tribute to the  Dead Kennedy’s song “Moon Over Marin”. In 1984 I picked up maybe my 4th punk record which was the 2nd Dead Kennedy’s album “Plastic Surgery Disasters”. The album is a great listen all the way through and includes some blistering tunes like “Riot” and “Bleed For Me” laced with social commentary. The surprise song though is “Moon Over Marin”… detractors have called it the Dead Kennedy’s “U2” song, but I disagree. “Moon Over Marin” is more melodic than most DK, but juxtaposed with the darkness of the lyrics, the song evokes a powerful sense of existential melancholy. I think the concept that struck me, and stuck with me, is that our disrespect of each other and the planet may doom us, but things will continue without us. I think it is healthy to recognize impermanence, but also to appreciate the value of the ephemeral. Moonlight, real or electric, will probably be around, but what it will be casting light on is the real question. There will always be a moon over Biloxi." -Shepard

The Devil Made Me Do it & Divided We Stand, United We Fall were both made on January 6th in response to the Faustian bargain that Trump and his accomplices made in designing the coup. Today we find ourselves at a crossroads; now, more than ever, is the time we need to come together, take a stand, exercise our voices, and fight for Truth and Democracy. Hopefully, daylight will cast off this right-wing authoritarian spell. I see these posters as markers of a historical time and feel a duty within to share my views. We’re all exhausted by politics, but we must embrace the moment and take action because the threat is fundamental; our democracy could be gone in the blink of an eye." - Cleon Peterson The connection of Peterson with street art is also an aspect of his work worth mentioning. Even though he has created numerous murals all over the world, the artist himself does consider himself a street artist: “I don’t think of myself as a street artist or somebody that does work in that vein, but I love the idea of doing large paintings that confront people.”. This is revealing of his motivation to make his art as accessible as possible, as a way to invite the viewers to interact with it and confront the subjects the artist is interested in addressing. This brings up the following questions concerning the art of Peterson: “What is the meaning of it? Does it have a meaning after all? If yes, is this pre-determined by the artist? In order to better understand the way meaning is created in the world of Cleon Peterson, it is essential to, primarily, understand the way he perceives the media as a field of allegations, unbased rumors, suppositions and outright lies. In the world that the artist has created and, in correlation with our own reality, media is a tool of manipulation in the hands of politicians, leaving us helpless and in the mercy of an exploitative authoritarian system.

Signed & Numbered Screen Print  OPEN MINDS 36 inches by 24 inches Edition of 675 February 3, 2022 This “Open Minds” print references the language used by the powerful fuel industry lobby to soften political and public resistance to fracking. Fracking is a form of gas extraction which beyond the carbon impact of the gas itself, contaminates groundwater, pollutes the air, and creates strains on water resources because of the high volume of water required for the fracking process. Open-mindedness about any of those detrimental impacts of fracking and other fossil fuel extraction is absurd if one cares about the environment, air and water quality, and global warming. Powerful corporations and their lobbyists spend exorbitant sums to distract from and discredit the science-based conversation about the environment. I’m all for open minds and open eyes when it comes to putting science and the welfare of the planet before corporate profits. A portion of the proceeds from this print will benefit Greenpeace to support its work to enhance environmental protections and combat climate change. – Shepard

Signed & Numbered, Bias by Numbers  30 inches by 42 inches Edition of 89 June 3, 2019  “Bias by Numbers” addresses racial bias in policing, criminal justice, and media culture. Racial bias in policing and criminal justice has a long history, including stats like – black people being five times more likely to be stopped and searched than white people, and four times more likely to be subjected to unnecessary use of force, or four times more likely to be killed by the police when unarmed. The statistics revealing racial bias in prosecution and sentencing are compelling as well. Though recreational drug use is equally common in both predominantly black communities and predominantly white communities, convictions for drug possession are almost six times higher for blacks. Blacks frequently receive longer prison sentences than whites contributing to African Americans being incarcerated at more than five times the rate of whites.

Shepard Fairey- OBEY Moon Over Biloxi Silkscreen Print by Shepard Fairey- OBEY

Purchase Moon Over Biloxi 1-Color Hand-Pulled Limited Edition Silkscreen Print on Fine Art Paper by Shepard Fairey Rare Street Art Famous Pop Artwork Artist. Signed & Numbered Moon Over Biloxi  Screen Print 18 x 24 inches Edition of 400 July 27, 2010.
